Hi, my dear color enthusiasts. February 1st is right around the corner for the 4th Coloring Challenge. ”The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge” I am thrilled that these challenges have inspired you to add color to your day. But most of all that you are finding time for you. If you are new to the coloring challenges a very warm welcome to you and so happy you are here. 🙂 Go here to see how I am getting organized.
WHAT’S NEW THIS TIME? I will have a weekly feature that I will be sharing on my blog that showcases some of your work every Sunday. I will be looking for coloring that jumps out to me for different reasons and I want to share it. 🙂
THE GOAL IS: To color something daily even if it’s a few minutes but, certainly not required. (I know that I am happier when I am coloring even if it’s for 10 minutes.) Hopefully together along the way we will all stretch our creativity a little bit more. Feel free to substitute mediums if you’re more comfortable with a different type product than what I might be using on that particular day. BASICALLY it’s any thing goes challenge.
CAN YOU PARTICIPATE IN MY 30 DAY CHALLENGE? Wow that would be awesome if you want to participate & feel free to jump in at any time during February! Everyone is welcome! If you miss a few days don’t feel like you have to catch up.
COLOR DAILY? WHAT! The idea is to color something daily even if it’s for five minutes WITH ANY MEDIUM. Just five minutes that’s it. Some days you will have more time and that’s even better. It’s just about adding more time to color and carve out a little time for something that makes you happy.
THERE ARE A FEW WAYS TO SHARE: You can share your work where you are most comfortable like Facebook, Instagram, Flicker and your Blog etc. If you use this hashtag #thedailymarker30day I can usually find your work.
OR…. you can link with the Inlinkz tool on Day One on my blog. (Instagram is the easiest for me to comment on your art work.)
Feel free to use the graphic below.
ANY QUESTIONS: If you have a question please leave a comment on my blog and I will answer the question in the comment area. I try to get to your questions in a timely fashion but posting daily can get in the way. I always appreciate your kind words and enthusiasm & it’s what motivates me to continue these coloring challenges.
WILL THERE BE GIVEAWAYS? YES! I will be working with many of your favorite companies throughout February for some super fun giveaways. I personally will be giving away goodies too. 🙂
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM ME: I will be posting on my blog daily and on Instagram daily. Some days I might make a one layer card & some days I might just color an image. If something I am working on is more complex I will come back to it the next day. There will also be unedited videos and videos.
I hope you are as excited as I am and I am beyond thrilled that you might consider playing along. (as I mentioned feel free to jump in and out of the 30 days if that is what words best for you).
Below is a video that I shared before during the previous coloring challenges. I am still using the same supplies so in case you missed it I am posting it again.
See you February ONE!! Super excited to be wowed by you all. Hugs, Kathy

Looking forward to this new challenge, Kathy. I’m hoping I can create a little me time in this hectic period, now that my DH is very tired while recovering from his chemotherapy and too tired to walk the dog. In 10 days, he’s scheduled for surgery to have his temporary stoma removed and his normal bowel function restored…

Yay so happy to hear that Valerie 🙂
I can’t wait to get started! I created a “coloring crate” and have loaded my colored pencils, shimmer markers and sharpeners into it so I am ready to take it with me where ever I am! I have also been stamping lots of images so that I don’t have to take the time to get my stamps out, ink them up and then clean and take care of them during the challenge! I am even making a binder book to keep them in so they are transportable too! See you on the first!
Wow Barb you are really to roll!!! So fun to hear about your coloring crate. 🙂
I’m going to work on “getting ready” this weekend by stamping some things, maybe even drawing my own card fronts and I also have a couple of coloring books at the ready for back up! Love your challenges–thanks so much for motivating us!
Great plan Sheri and you are right … coloring books are a great back up. 🙂
My first time to your colouring challenge! I will try to do as much as I can!
FYI – got the Ikea cart and cuffed baskets for storage while here in Florida!
Heading back to Canada this weekend and can’t wait to put it all together!
OMG Janine that is such awesome news on all accounts!!! I hope you love your set up as much as I do. Let the coloring begin 🙂
I’ve just recently stumbled upon your blog and this is something I’d like to try. I enjoy coloring but I never like the finished product. I will definitely be checking your blog to get inspired.
Hello FeM a warm welcome to you! I am so glad you are taking the challenge. The most important part is to carve out a little time for you and not to feel pressured to keep up daily if you can’t find 5 minutes and just to enjoy coloring 🙂 I really believe that you will gain more confidence in your coloring 🙂
Looking forward to participating in my first challenge. Hoping to color daily but I’m being blessed with my 8th grandchild in a few days, this may take me away from my markers and pencils!!
Hi Debbie. I am so glad you are taking the challenge depending on when your 8th grandchild arrives. That is pretty awesome and worth NOT coloring lol. Congrats!
hello kathy I just posted your challenge on my instagram @cmecreations. I can’t wait to try it.
Yay Crystal so glad you are taking the challenge. The most important part is to carve out a little time for you and not to feel pressured to keep up daily if you can’t find 5 minutes and just enjoy coloring 🙂
I shared this on my blog today. Your challenge is so much fun to do.
Wonderful!
So happy that a new coloring challenge begins. It was so hard to find time for crafting last weeks. I’m looking forward to start coloring something every day. Thank for all the inspiration you give us!!!
Thanks Tatiana you are so sweet! Glad you are excited for the challenge 🙂
Hi Kathy! I’m in again this time! Looking forward to using some of the new color mediums that I have acquired and hopefully I’ve also acquired a little more skill along the way too!

Yay Marg! A warm welcome to you! The most important part is to carve out a little time for you and not to feel pressured to keep up daily if you can’t find 5 minutes and just to enjoy coloring 🙂
I’m joining you again and I forwarded your email newsletter to all my crafting buddies and said something on my blog about it! I can also mention it on Youtube and Pinterest if you like! I have three coloring books all ready to go!
Wowza thanks Rush’d Lady for spreading the word! Let the coloring begin. 🙂
I ordered coloring books for myself, one for a friend who said she wanted to play along after seeing my fb post and one to send to my daughter. Other then that my room is ready to go……we I could tidy a bit!!
What a sweet friend you are Joyce!! WE both can tidy as we go. My area is super messy right now. *sigh 🙂
I’ve got some projects lined up for the challenge. Although uploading my be a challenge for me.
Hi Dena, Don’t worry about sharing if that’s a challenge for you. (If you have a smart phone Instagram makes it super easy to share.) If you don’t please just enjoy coloring that’s the most important part. 🙂

Awesome Yulianna thanks for sharing with your friends. 🙂
I am fairly new to card making ( started about 4 months ago) but I use to be a scrapbooker. I just discovered your challenge on Instagram and it sounds great so I am going to participate and hopefully improve my colouring skills. I have recently discovered that I love to colour so I am very excited about the challenge! I am going to be getting everything ready tomorrow!
Hi Jennifer it makes me so happy to hear that you discovered you love to color! Woo Hoo I think you will enjoy the challenge. 🙂
Sooooooooo excited!
Hi Kathy,
I am 14 years old and love drawing and colouring and I am going to take part in your challenge 🙂
I have advertised your 30 day colouring challenge on my blog.
Awesome Lyla I am so happy you are taking the challenge 🙂
I just saw you post about pre-stamping. I think I am going to do some before heading to bed. I posted to my blog and to Facebook. I am excited about trying to color for all 30 days. Thanks Kathy. Blessings ~ Pam
Thanks to the card stamping group on fb I found you and your challenge!
Very excited to participate. Have been creating cards for about 18 months and
using coloring books about 4 months. Have combined the 2 for some
beautiful cards! And it’s so relaxing.
I shared on fb. Also signed up for your newsletter.
THANKS!
Yay thanks Angie!! A warm welcome to you and so glad you found me and the challenge. Thanks for making my night 🙂
I am so excited and so on board!!!
I’m going to try again, last time I made it almost half way through.
YAY EVA….HALF is better thank not at all. Just enjoy what you do 🙂
Hello, I’m glad that this year also are organizing this wonderful game. It really motivates to action.
BozenA
loving the challenge but the uploading is a challenge of its own. can’t get instagram to work and the inlinkz interface keeps rejecting me. I uploaded to facebook but not sure if that worked or not
Love the encouragement!
Sounds very interesting! Just broke my wrist, but am going to try to start coloring for therapy to gain strength in my hand.
Hello! I found this challenge on Instagram (I’m a cool mom is my Instagram name) but I can’t find the info about what each day challenge is. Maybe my phone isn’t displaying everything.
Jessica
Hi Jessica, Thanks for coming over from that other world lol. I don’t use prompts like some people do on IG. I prefer to keep the challenge only to color and let everyone do what pleases them. Hope this makes sense 🙂
Thank you Kathy! This is my first year- learning card making, and everything that comes with “learning”. Its humbling but I love hearing the joy which comes from those who receive my cards. Copics and watercoloring are my favorites-striving daily to self teach! Since I have sketched since I was a little one; always enjoying the nature, its been such joy learning how to utilize tools. I just love seeing what YOU have “created” each day, and can hardly wait to read how you did it, or what inspired you. Your creativity is off the charts-and the beauty is something which takes my breath away. I’m trying to learn how to upload so I can participate-I have a small stack of cards I have made since your challenge began! God bless you and thanks again. Julieanne
How awesome this cutie image and so generous colored, wow!
Thank you for this great chance to win,
hugs Sylvie,die waldfee
I am starting late but I have been coloring the first three days. Thank you for the inspiration and the chance to win some stamps.
I really like the card you made for your giveaway. I get email update from your blog. I look but couldn’t see where to enter for stamp giveaway??? Thanks!! : )
Thanks for the great ideals.
I just discovered your blog and videos, I love your voice and your teaching techniques, I am already so addicted. I will be definitely be trying some of your ideas. My problem is I can never come up with my own ideas so I love people like you that I can learn, copy and make it my own ideas. Thank you
Hi Kathy,
Thanks for awakening the sleeping artist again. Would love to join the challenge.
I love love love coffee! Limit to 2 (rather large) cups per day <3
I stink with the whole hash tag thing. I did the challenge over the summer and I don’t think anything got posted. I have all my pictures in my phone of what I have been working on. Any where from simple to super detailed and complicated. Where can I post them so they can be seen as part of the challenge? I get the daily emails but beyond that it’s hard for me to connect. I am more of a facebooker I also saw something about a give away but did not find a link Within the email. Someone please help this young adult that is still not plugged totally into tho he. (always been more about Facebook and my hobbies) thanks! I don’t want to miss out like what happened last time. Both me and my friend Terri did it and I don’t think anything posted.
Hi Elyse, So happy you are playing along. Instagram is a very easy way to share. Just tag me @kathyrac and use the hashtag #thedailymarker30day. The hashtag goes in to the copy part of the post. You can also upload on my blog on day 1. Hope this helps and good luck. If you click on the title of the email it will take you to my blog post and that is where you enter for givewaways and such 🙂
love all the creativity!
I love coloring with Copics, I’m making Valentines for my card club, there are 11 of us. We get together once a month. But I do make Cade’s for family too .
