Hello Friends, T.G.I.F. ! Are you as happy as I am that it’s Friday … it was one of those long weeks.
Altenew is celebrating parents with a blog hop and I am thrilled to take part in this hop. To start at the beginning of the blog hop go to the Altenew Blog. (you can find the full list is at the bottom of my post.)
I love that Altenew ‘s goal is to send cards for the elderly that lives in nursing homes or shelters to let them know they’re not forgotten. I hope you will check out the Celebrating Parents Card Drive and join this great cause by sending in cards if you have a little spare time or a spare card.
I inked up this Best Dad stamp set with some distress ink and set out to do some more watercoloring.
These images are so fun. If I had more time I would have made anther card using the tools and color them with flowers and pinks for a girlfriend who is a tool.
Lots of green & blue distress inks were used & mixed on my acrylic palette.
When the images were dry I added details with a 0.03 super fine tip marker. Later I decided to put some coffee & cream in the mug to ground the mug on my card.
For the background I used two of Altenew’s inks randomly stamping the sentiments in the stamp set on some neenah.

Very cute card and a terrific stamp set! I think this is a great cause–both of my parents are in different care centers, my Dad has Alzheimer’s and is in Memory Care, my Mom in an Independent living facility. I make lots of cards for the elderly, have many aunts and uncles in that category as well and I make sure they get handmade cards for their Birthday and , all the holidays . Thanks for spreading the love!

Carla from Utah
What an awesome card! I love the watercolors you used on it. Looks fab!
Yes, I am glad it’s Fri. We had some cold weather this week so I am glad it’s warming up this weekend. I’m also glad tomorrow is my birthday but I’m not glad to be “64” like the Beatle song.
Your card was so totally my dad except for the dumbbell. When he was alive last year in 2017, my dad had a work shop in our basement. He couldn’t use it for the last 3 or 4 years of his life, but he had a tool box, the tools, and almost all the stuff in your card. I love the way your card is colored. I miss my dad so much seeing your card that I have tears in my eyes. He loved to make things and fix things around the house and he was good at it. I’m almost glad I don’t have this stamp set because it would make me cry seeing i I have one stamp that I used for my dad one Father’s Day that makes me sad to look at. It’s not an Altenew stamp but it’s a dad and his child, even though it’s a male child, going fishing, which I did with my dad only once. I won’t go into what happened because then this will be a really long post but my dad never took me again. He did take my nephew a lot though when my nephew was younger (he’s 19 now) because my sister was divorced and her ex lived across the country. I have to make some cards for the Celebrating Parents Card Drive.
Thank you for showing us your card and for giving us the chance to win something. Tomorrow on my birthday I will make some cards for this drive.
As always, your coloring is spot on!
What a fantastic card. Coloring and composition are spot on. I just LOVE the muted color palette.
Very creative
lovely card Kathy. Your water colouring is beautiful
Great card.
What a wonderful Father’s Day card!
As always, a great card. Thanks for sharing.
My husband was very handy with tools.
If I wanted something built (from a special
sized stitching frame to a cabinet) – he
could always produce whatever I asked for
and it was perfect. He would have loved
getting cards using this stamp set.
He’s been gone 14 years and I’m so
sorry he didn’t get to see all of the cards
I’ve made since that time.
thanks for the trip down nostalgia

such a lovely card -perfect!
Love your card, Kathy! I think it’s hard to find cute masculine cards and this one is perfect and like you said would also make a great card for a gal who is handy with tools (or is a tool!)!
Love your colors choices.. pretty card.
Thanks for sharing this fantastic card! The images from this Altenew set remind me so much of my dad. He wore a tool belt every day as an appliance repairman. I can’t see one without thinking of him. He’s an amazing man and I miss him every day.
This is such a lovely idea from a super stamp company & I’m glad to be a part of this blog hop. Thanks for the beautiful inspiration!
What a super Father’s Day card. I love the colors and the muted effect by water coloring these images.
What a fun card! It’s disappointing to realize that shipping and handling from Canada to send cards for the Card Drive is so expensive!!
Awesome card, your coloring is so amazing! Awesome idea and great blog hop! My friend & I are making cards to deliver to a local nursing home before Mother’s Dan & will do the same again for Father’s Day.our
This I so thoughtful!
Marvelous coloring, Kathy.
Lovely coloring…I really like all the sentiments you angled across the top half!
I love everything about this card. The stamps and colors you chose are awesome!
Love all that green!
I love the idea of sending cards to Seniors. So many are lonely and have outlived much of their family. I will be hopping along with this one. Is there a limit to the number of cards we can donate? I will be checking here in my town and gathering my ladies night gals to help me make some love for Moms and Dads. Thanks for the inspiration.
I love this card, especially the “endless love” tape measure! What an apt image for a parent!
So beautiful, Kathy, I love the colour combo you used, and your colouring and card design is as usual jaw dropping!
Such a wonderful masculine card. Love those colors!
What a great idea for a blog hop! Love your inspiration card!
Love this! The watercolor is gorgeous and the design…fabulous ♥
Fabulous card!! Love this set for dads (and lots of other people, too)!! Your watercoloring is beautiful!
That’s a wonderful card!!
Great Card, I So Love Your Coloring
Super creative way to display the sentiments – love the look of this card. The Altenew stamps are awesome… I only wish their customer service was better – I placed an order back in February and am still waiting for the replacement items (stamps and a dry ink) that were never shipped to me. I have even received another of my orders in the meantime. 🙁
great card, great background! Masculine cards are hard to do and this is a great set!
Great Cards for men or hard to find. I love this card. My favorite part of it was the cup. LOL… My dad and I are big coffee drinkers and it’s something we share. This card brings to mind the saying my dad can fix anything, with all the things for dad’s on it. I truly loved this card.
This is such a cute card. Manley cards are hard to make. I really love this stamp and die bundle. It’s a great buy.
Your cards are so adorable . Love your colouring with distress inks . Thanks for sharing with us.
This is such a cute card.. love this dad’s die set n your creation.
Such a cute masculine card – love the tools and the coffee cup.
You did a great job on this card! And how sweet is the idea behind this blog hop?!? Father’s Day cards are my kryptonite. I struggle with them so much because there are no stamp sets that have images or sentiments that fit my quirky dad or hubby. I usually end up making them from scratch with digital images or my own sketches, or just going with a geometric background and a computer generated sentiment. I wish there were more Father’s Day stamp sets!
What a blessing this card drive will be to all the seniors fortunate to receive a card. I belong to a Facebook group named Random Acts of Cardness and I’m blessed to be able to provide a smile to someone with my cards. Thanks for the opportunity to win a prize and thanks to you for participating in the hop.
Fabulous Father’s day card. Thanks for sharing
Absolutely fantastic card! I love the colors and texture on the paper you chose!
I love the thoughtfulness of this hop. I like the color palette you chose for this card. I don’t often go to orange as one of my main colors, but you really made it work (this is my not-shocked face, in case you were wondering). Thanks for sharing your creativity with us!
Great card and a great cause!
I lost my father a few years ago and felt the loss of my superhero. My husband is my daughters ‘ superhero and they love this set. We can’t wait to make some cards for him.
This is so pretty! I love the colors and your coloring of the embellishments!
Fabulous father’s day card! Love the background design!
Awesome card! I really appreciate the idea of this Celebrating Parents hop!
This is a fab layout, combining the various images and sentiments. Thanks for the inspiration.
Gorgeous card! I love how you mixed between the green & blue colors, and the background is so fabulous.
This set and card are so perfect for that handy father. I love what you did with all the tools in the box.
