PROJECT ONE:
Oh where to begin….here goes. I wanted to “alter” something for SRM stickers so I decided that I needed a pencil can for my markers. I didn’t have anything in the recycle bin so….I remembered how nice and fat this 28 oz. can of tomatoes is (see below). So I went to my pantry and emptied out my tomatoes so I could use the can!! I know it’s a little backwards but, I saved the tomatoes to use for dinner…at least I knew what was on the menu . The recipe is below.
May I introduce you to my new pencil can 🙂
You bet lots and lots of buttons. The best part is that I decided to use this for my colored pencils instead of the markers. This “can” holds 132 colored pencils …amazing! I couldn’t believe it myself so I had to count them !! I never thought they would all fit! Very happy about that 🙂
This is the left side view. I Adhered the buttons with glossy accents.
Love this paper from Pink Paisleecalled Hocus Pocus and you will love their blog too.
The fall stickers are available here.
My goal was to have a cute little scene that was elevated or pop-dotted on the front of the can. Here are all the pieces before wrapping the paper around the can. I used my Copic markers and added glossy accents to the carved face on the pumpkin, the paws, nose and tongue on the dog.
What I thought was a good idea presented some challenges. The paper crumpled when I bent it around the can and you can see all of the pop dots. The buttons hid all of the pop dots and gave the can more interest. I can put something over the pumpkin when the fall season is over. Good thing it’s always good to “count your blessings”.
Such a pretty can. The tomatoes inside are yummy and I think you will like the recipe.
THE RECIPE: QUICK MARINARA SAUCE
I got this recipe from a cooking class and once I made this I have never purchased another jar of sauce. Click on the recipe and you can download it and print it.
THE CARD:
I love this paper so I continued on with this card. The center panel is elevated.
SRM sticker “snow much fun” you can find here. Another one of my favorite Penny Black stamps.
PROJECT TWO:
I just had to do another project that would work out better than the few flaws in the other can. I sewed these four panels together BUT, in my haste I measured wrong. I had to search the house to find something to fit my paper!! I found an antique jar and wrapped the paper tight and taped the back. No crimples on this one.
Don’t you get sick on wondering whats for dinner? I DO and I thought this sentiment reflected that attitude!!
If you have any questions please send me an email.
Here is the sticker “What’s Cookin?”
I’ll be back Wednesday with another biggie post for Penny Black. So sorry I haven’t stopped by any of your blogs. Right now I’m just floating above my commitments. Next week should be better. Have a good week and I hope you are enjoying some beautiful fall colors. Hugs, Kathy
