Hello Friends, How are you today?? I have been working on this response card that came with a beautiful wedding invitation. It’s amazing what a few stamps, embossing powder, sheer shimmer and vellum can do!
Above is the response card that I decorated to return to my sweet friend. You know you are getting older when your friends children are getting married.
The gold accents on the response card were so pretty I decided to use that as my starting point. After stamping with VersaMark I embossed with gold embossing powder on the edges with a Penny Black stamp.
I could bathe in this glorious sparkle from Tuskineko called sheer shimmer spritz. (see below) I could use this shimmer spritz on every card because it’s so sheer unlike perfect pearls. I used a light pink layer of vellum over the dress.
After I stamped and embossed I used a blue and green Copic marker to outline the flowers and leaves. Can you see the sparkles on the vellum? The shimmer spritz really adds such a new dimension to this response card. For the background I used a combination of three distress inks. Here is an older post with more details on that.
Here are two more response cards that I did in April if you have any interest. I hope you will give this a try sometime. The recipient always enjoys it and you will have as much fun creating as they will receiving.
This swatch came with the invitation and you are supposed to create a special message on it for the bride and groom.
I decorated a the envelope. I copied the initials and used lots of the glimmer mist.
I stamped onto the fabric and used Copic markers. I kept my heat gun close by and after I colored I dried the fabric carefully so the ink wouldn’t spread or bleed. I used a super fine Sharpie and outlined the image after coloring and for the message “congrats”. Enamel accents on the eyes made them pop.
See below how I layered the enamel accents on the eyes. Once the white layer dries I add the black on top of the white.
I used green and blue stickles on the images that were applied with a paint brush.
Here is a pic of the shimmer on the envelope.
I hope that you are having a great weekend so far?? The weather has broken on the east coast so I was thrilled to be able to have our cookout tonight OUTSIDE! We hosted a cookout for family to send off my son, niece and nephews before they leave for another year at college. Thanks for taking the time to come by. Hugs, Kathy

Oh wow what response cards! Such a fabulous idea to decorate them! I am at a point where all our friends are married and not that many weddings sadly, I want to decorate response cards too! I bet you make the bride smile when she received it!
This is beyond extremely gorgeous!
WOW! THUD!! … my jaw hit the table 🙂 🙂 🙂
I feel like I would be so, “Darn it! Why didn’t my response cards look like this when I sent them!” if I got back one of your beautifully altered response cards! 😀
Your response cards are one of the most clever things I’ve ever seen! Seriously, what a fabulous idea. I’m disabled and it’s difficult for me to attend weddings, but I could add a personal touch to the card, even if I have to decline. Clever clever clever!
what a great idea, the pink vellum on the dress and the sparkles work so well
