Hello Friends, How are you?? I feel like it has been forever since I have posted and if you are interested I will update you on the moving/packing at the end of my post. I also will announce the winner at the end. This week Penny Back is featuring a new “London Collection”. I have always LOVE Richard Scary’s books and I LOVE the olympics so you can image that I am loving this new series. I think it’s both wrapped up in one. |
Let’s start with my simpler card today. When you stamp it off center there is less to color. Also a second card is always faster even if you are coloring because you already have the color selection down. For both cards the red and blue is so bright with zero shading = fast! I used these Tombow markers. The “sign” is leftover from my first card….got to love that. I just love creating these fun scenes so much. The hills were created just like I did in this post. I must mention I shouldn’t have used this sentiment set…. I don’t know what I was thinking. It’s new 2012 just released at CHA and won’t ship for many weeks? I love all the sentiments and forgot NOT to use it. The flag is part of this particular transparent set and I am constantly reaching for it. I colored the critters with Copics. |
The olympic torch I borrowed from a different stamp in the collection & they are listed below the post. Before I forget….. the winner from my lost post is Bunnyfreak. Congrats!! I will be having more giveaways so stayed tuned 🙂 |
Now…only if you are interested read on 🙂 We plan on moving May or June and before you know it we will be leaving our home with so many memories. I will never forget the kids running down the hall …, the play dates, teacher parties, Thanksgivings, Christmas etc… etc. With that said I’m the “it girl” …the girl that does 90% of the packing of all of the breakables, my precious dishes, collections and all that brick brack. So if you notice a lapse in posting I am probably packing. I tend to do it in spurts then I have to take a break. This past week I was removing furniture that I have accumulated in the past 16 years to the basement to make the rooms appear larger and less cluttered. So happy to have that part finished. We are looking forward to our next chapter and making new memories in a new home so it’s all exciting and overwhelming at the same time. I don’t know what I will do though when reality hits and I can’t take Paula to my new neighborhood. (She’s the dream neighbor that everyone wants)
Thanks so much for your sweet comments and good wishes. I might as well add that we have begun the college search and many more to check out this year for my DD. 2012 is a big year for us. I am so happy to have this blog and all of you that tips the balance the right way to keep me in check and stay “balanced” . So thanks to you for your visits… they really mean so much to me. Happy stamping and hugs, Kathy

How super cute and so perfect with the Games coming to London. Clever not to show the entire car, makes an impact like being drawn to a scene like in a painting/picture and indeed less colouring to do!!!
Good luck with the move. We did it 16 times so I know so well what you are going through!!!!
Hugs from freezing cold Holland where everyone goes bananas skating (not me lol!)!!!

Both are too cute Kathy. Hope the move goes well. It is hard to leave a place where there are so many memories. I’d hate to leave this house as we’ve been here for 19 years.

Love both Sista, the CAS and the scene version, shame you didn’t go with the sunset that you showed me I would of liked to see how that turned out. Good luck with all the packing!

Both cards are amazing, Kathy! You have captured the Richard Scary essence (love his illustrations, too!). Good luck on all the moving and looking out for collage! Thinking of you…as always! HUGS!

great card–definitely Richard Scary-ish! Best Wishes on the move/packing…and I’m pinning my daughter down on a college. If you’re interested in an easy process, Kent State (Ohio) is a one-app, no essay, no teacher recommendation school. It was by far the easiest to apply to :)I love them just for that!

Love your cards- you do great things with ink and markers. So excited to have won a prize on your blog. Good luck with your move. As a child we would often move every year or so. I can’t imagive moving after 16 years in one place.

Both of these have such character – I remember those books too when I was learning to read English. I love the way the banner goes off your simpler card & the way that rounded corner extends behind the front wheels & echoes them, the brain sort of adds the back wheels with the “help” of the rounded corner. I absolutely love the glow of the moon on the scene & those flags. These are just enormous fun. Take care with the packing – after 16 years it’s not an easy one to fit it all into packing cases. Shall be thinking of you.

Great cards Kathy! I love how the grassy hill and roadbed have texture and how you made the bumper and tires look 3d with your awesome shading and coloring! Good luck with packing. I know it is tedious work and I am particular as well. There is a lot you will be leaving (I can’t really understand as I have not had kids or 16 years anywhere) but you must also think of what is to come and the great adventure you will have in moving on. I know you are making the change for a reason, hopefully a positive one. And I hope you and your friend will try to stay in touch so you don’t ‘lose’ each other. That’s my silly input. 🙂 I love seeing your work, I will check back soon.

Love your cards. You mentioned in a previous post about packing and I didn’t know if it was for vacation or that you had sold your house. Congrats. I know what it’s like… packing – endless boxes, but it is worth it in the end. Hugs to you. D
