Hello sweet friends, TGIF!! Any fun plans for the weekend? How about a challenge? This card was created for Lily Pad’s / Simon Says Stamp’s challenge STARS! Visit the Lily Pad blog for all of the details and inspiration from the DT. Simon Says Stamp has a $25.00 gift certificate for one winner. |
These are the distress markers I used and distress inks. I love how the inks and “markers” combined when I sprayed my coloring and inking with water. (I stamped & embossed in clear first) I used this paper but, this thick watercolor I’ll be using next time. |
After die cutting the star I stamped it with this “Chevron Backdrops” by Lawn Fawn with brown distress ink and distressed it too. I placed the star so it falls under the cut out of the star on the front of my card when I mount it using pop dots. |
I mounted my front panel to some white paper. The top left star was cut again so in this photo there is a “window” to show the star on kraft paper as seen in the above photo. |
You can see the window in this photo. The top right star is popped up with pop dots. I love these “pop dots” because they are super sticky and have lots of dimension. |
The die cut is Labels 16 and the sentiment is from SRM and you can find it here. After I die cut my sentiment I cut a portion off so it could tuck right under my card panel. If you have questions you can find my email on the right side of my blog so that I can answer you personally. I have a few questions that were left in the comment area on my blog that I would like to answer. |
This is the card that the question is referring to.
“What size envelope does the card fit into??” The card fits perfectly in a 5×5 square envelope the way I have the banner positioned on this card. (If I rotated the banner it would fit into a standard envelope. The banner length is 5 inches.)
This is the card that the question refers to.
“You said to add 3 coats – where is that to go? over all of the card or what? Thanks.” The center of the flowers on each card has Glossy Accents in the center (the brownish part) I added some glossy accents, let it dry and reapplied the same way 2 more times. I hope I explained this better 🙂 I like taking the time to add extra coats of glossy accents to build up the centers of the flowers but, it’s not necessary.
On my last post this card. I linked the wrong die cut. It’s Labels 16 and you can see it here. Thanks for pointing that out Ruby and bringing it to my attention.

Super with the way you decorated that little kraft stamped star with embellishments too – the dimension is intriguing & all the zigzags work beautifully with the stars. I love the way you have just a few elements of curvature to soften the pointiness. Gorgeous colours.
Have a super weekend.
