Hello Friends, Welcome to World Card Making Day! Do you remember that two weeks ago I got my dates mixed up and made this card to celebrate? I really wanted to make a themed card like I did with this one for 2010 but, with the upcoming move that didn’t happen.
I thought I would share the cards in the final phase then I decided to add more stuff!! (sorry for the bad photo) In this post you will see the new and improved card on the left AND IF YOU LEAVE A COMMENT YOU CAN WIN SSS OCTOBER’S CARD KIT…DETAILS HERE. Would you have left the cards more clean & simple?? I just couldn’t bring myself to leave them as is. Would love to hear your opinion. |

This embossing folder from Spellbinders is reversible and their embossing folders give you such a nice and deep impression unlike many other companies. Is it bad to want every embossing folder that Spellbinders has? |
I wanted to point out the leaves in this photo… I added glossy accents to only parts of the leaf….it’s a neat look and another way to get more dimension.
In this photo I want to share that I added white dots in the flowers centers and proceeded to add a blop of glossly accents on top. The flowers were colored with Copic markers and I added some white gel pen accents on the petals.
Thanks for taking the time to stop my blog and celebrate with me for World Card Making Day. Leave me a comment to win this beautiful stamp from Penny Black.
I will randomly select a winner next weekend. I hope you will consider to join my “following” or “register” if you don’t already. Thanks again and have a happy weekend. Hugs, Kathy
P.S. Be sure to stop by Penny Black for lots of prizes and contests today that I think you won’t want to miss 🙂

I love swirls and flourishes…
Just beautiful, love your colouring on the flowers and those finishing touches! Ger x.
Your cards are always so beautiful and I LOVE the way you colored the flowers!
What a stunning card…love your lay-out and colouring!
xxx Margreet
Beautiful as always.
beautiful. Love the gloss and white dot on the flowers. It does add a bit of “umph” esp when the recipient holds it in their hands.
these are magnificent !
I think the before and after are both lovely and sweet!
You definitely added to both – the use of the flower centres to embellish in the first instance added real unification & variety at the same time. In the second your additional flowers in a complementary colour make the whole card just “sing & there’s added balance in that bottom right flower.
Brilliant seeing the two versions & how you added elements to alter the simpler look to absolute “WOW.”
Take care midst the moving – thinking of you.

I’m a kind of clean and simple cardmaker, myself, but I like it both ways. I especially like how you used the glossy accents. Thanks for giving us a chance to win something. That’s always fun.
These cards are all fantastic. The first card is so very vibrant and inviting with all that color. The others are cleaner and simpler but are also beautiful.
Hi, Kathy! I’ve never seen a card of yours I didn’t like and these are no exception. The way you accented the leaves and those flower centers are such a nice touch. Happy World Cardmaking Day!
Kathy, your cards are always gorgeous!!! I can’t wait to try adding glossy accents to select parts of an image. Thanks for sharing your idea.
Both cards are lovely, like all your cards are. You are an inspiration. Thanks for sharing and for the chance at a generous giveaway. Happy Cardmaking Day.
Love the card. I like the extras but I think maybe I would have had them the same color as the original color. I’m a purple person but I think it would have looked better with something in the same color family. Thanks for the chance to win the set. I love Penny Black!
Really lovely cards – thanks for the tip about the glossy accents
I have a question about the lettering on your cards. Is that lettering stickers, or are those letters you made with some dimensional paint, etc? If you made them, what did you use?
What a lovely start to World Card Making Day! I love your second card the best. The extra flowers peeking around corners are adorable!
No need to change your cards, they are just beautiful as is. Thanks so much for the giveaway, you are too sweet!!
Love your cards. I am a follower. Thanks for the chance to win.

Hi Kathy,
You are always giving away such fabulous goodies! This set is adorable and I would be thrilled to have a chance to win it and color up these images with my Copics too!
Thank you for you generosity!!
Lisa
Such gorgeous cards. I love the dimension that you get from the embossing and the glossy accents.
Thanks for a great chance to win too!
Hugs, Carissa
Both are lovely cards. The vibrant colors against the softer background is really nice.
IMHO, the “more” cards just have a “pop” to them that the first ones don’t. As always, I love how you bring life to your projects! I wish I had more embossing folders & dies (esp. Spellbinders)…someday maybe. Thanks for sharing & hope you enjoy your day!!!
Great cards, I like both of them, but my favorite is the Love u card. I really like your coloring and how you cut the blue flower in halves and the way you positioned it. Happy card Making day!!!!
Another beauty Kathy!! That new Penny Black stamp looks so beautiful! I’d love to see it stamped and colored!! Hint, Hint!! ;D
Beautiful creations Kathy. Love all the beautiful details. TFS
Hugs, Rosalee
Lovely cards!
The cards are both lovely and as someone who prefers less over more I suppose I prefer the cards with fewer embellishments.
Have a great day!

Cards like this make me really want to buy an embossing machine. It adds SO much to cards!
How cute! I love how you used the glossy accents
I have the same issue – start out clean and simple, but just can’t stop adding embellies. It’s all good, though! Love both your designs.
Both cards are lovely…but I like the “more” one best! I have trouble doing the “more” thing…I feel like a little girl playing with my Mom’s makeup when I try adding more “stuff” to my cards! LOL
Hugs, Renee
Both are beautiful. My favorite would be the one with “more stuff”. Love al the colors you chose.
You know, it was nice to hear you ask the question,
“Is it bad to want every embossing folder that Spellbinders has? A question I have asked myself every time i pick up a new one. I am a follower that is inspired by all your cards. Thanks

They are both gorgeous images and the first is my vafe. Two lovely cards.
After taking a look carefully at the cards. I can honestly say that I love both the ‘love u’ cards, liking the one where you added a couple extra flowers just a little bit more.
Lisa D.
Love these…can’t imagine you making a CAS card so I like all the extras you added to your cards.
I like both versions of your card. I think that it really depends on the recipient and the occasion as to whether or not to add more versus less. Thanks for the inspiration AND chance to win some great stamps. 😀
I really like the addition of the blue flowers on the “love” card. The flowers make it pop!! I follow your blog on Google Reader. Thanks for the chance to win!

I don’t think you can ever have too much glossy accents….and I love the white accents!
Love that stamp set. You can never have too many flower stamps!
I thought these cards were lovely…but I just saw the final one and that one is–wow! I guess it just goes to show that sometimes you can improve a card…but I guess it’s hard to know when to leave it alone, too, right?
Oh–and you’re not alone on the embossing folder addiction… 🙂
I like the More. TFS. Love your giveaway, I sure would love to win too.

Gorgeous cards! Thanks for the chance to win. I love embossing folders, too.
I love your cards and details on it… Thanks for a chance to win…
Your cards are always works of art, Kathy, but I think what I like most on both of these cards are the dry-embossed backgrounds to which you added your signature little white dots! You always know how to “finish” a card…to perfection! Happy WCMD to one of the best card makers out there!
Saw the video you did in KickStart and I just fell in love with your work! Thank you!
Once again my sweet friend, your colouring amazes me…videos???? (wink) hugs
Beautiful cards – thanks so much! Thanks too for the chance to win that wonderful stamp set.
LOVE these cards! So gorgeous as usual
I am a follower and I love your colors. SO vibrant and so much depth.
Hi Kathy! I’m amazed at the things you do with your stamps. Isn’t it fun to see Kristina’s art in the form of stamps. I loved it when she was doing MACM and love watching her videos. It is so interesting how you view the stamp images, like the way you used the flower whole and the way you trimmed it to omit some of the petals and even carved out the inner part of some of the petals! Brilliant. I always feel like your cards are complete, even when you don’t. They always feel balanced and wonderful to me. I guess I get caught up in all of the details. LOL Thanks for a chance to win some PB goodies. Happy World Card Making day!
What a beautiful card just came upon your work today.
Great cards! I like the extras you added.
Please don’t enter me in the pennyblack stamp give away, but I wanted to let you know that I love this card, the flowers look fabulous against the Kraft background.
Beautiful card and thanks for the chance 🙂
Beautiful work there! Thank you so much again for the giveaway!
Fab projects. Great giveaway. Hugs,moni
Always love your cards every time I visit. This time I must say the flowers look gorgeous against the kraft. I like your newer version vs. the CAS one… more vibrant and love the placement of the flowers.
Just found your blog. Your coloring is impeccable! I will be checking back often.
I like the cards with a little more color like you added, but I don’t think you could ever make a bad one! 🙂
