Hello Friends, How are you today? Roll up your sleeves and grab your favorite morning beverage because I am apart of a fun hop today. Welcome to BasicGrey and CardMaker Magazine’s blog hop. To start at the beginning of the hop go to CardMaker’s blog. If you are arriving from Ivanka’s Lentle’s blog you are in the right place. (Love her style!) |
If you know me it’s hard to create just one card and I always have a few tips for you too. I wanted to give these “True Love Woven Labels” center stage. |
The patterns in the True Love collection are pretty enough to frame and hang on the wall! The colors are so me! For my card I created a frame out of some scrap cardboard with this die cut, added some distress ink and applied LOTS of “Utee”. (more on that below in this post) |
I always have some extra bits that I am able to pull together another card . So fun creating this way. |
I used two of the three embellishments I created from this “True Love” BasicGrey/ Hero Arts stamp set for my bookmark. |
In this photo I was testing the ink I wanted to use. Hero Arts Brown Bark ink won out. |
After I stamped the sentiment in “Brown Bark” ink…I traced over it with a red copic marker. |
Punch or die cut a circle, distress the edges so that center glows and emboss several times with Utee. |
Add some distress ink on the edges of your paper to draw the eye to the center of your card. |
To get a thick and rich glossy coating on my frame and embellishments I applied three or four coats of the embossing powder called Utee. It’s thick and gives a nice coating of glossiness to your project. (When the embossed surface is still hot plunge it back into your powder and shake off the excess and heat again. |
Here’s a close up of the embellishments I made from stamping and embossing. Thanks for hopping and stopping by my blog 🙂 DON’T FORGET TO visit BasicGrey… the word is that they have a nice giveaway on the BasicGrey blog 🙂 NOW IT’S TIME TO HOP TO JENNIE HARPER’S BLOG. (Love how Jennie uses color!) Thanks again, Kathy P.S. Check out this post for a BasicGrey giveaway from me. |
