What I love most about getting Simons Card Kit box in the mail is the unexpected goodies. Papers that aren’t on my radar, a stamp set that always has me jumping and embellishments that bring new life to my cards. Right off the bat I came up with this mini collection of FIVE cards. The chalk board on each card is cut from one of the papers in the kit. The flowers are from the lovely stamp set included in the card kit. The butterfly is this die cut. The cars were glittered with Tim Holtz’s newest yummy glitter.

It’s super easy to color the wood pieces with inks especially the Luxe inks. When you ink up the stencil… mark it FIRST which side is up to fit the sentiments. (I inked up many banners before I figured this out.) Use your dauber on the edges and lightly swipe into the middle for a lighter ombre look on the banner stencil.

CARD NUMBER TWO:

Oh the possibilities with one stamp! Have you heard of Missoni? So many yummy fabrics and that was the look I was going for on this long card.

These are some of the delicious Luxe inks (thank you Jennifer for the recommendation) that I used on my card. Angel Pink, Dandelion and Pear Tart! Notice how I spaced out the chevron on the paper? It’s fun to build it this way starting with one row of each color, adding two rows of each color and so on.

Now for the fun, fun part!! Add some color with any pastel alcohol markers that you might have on hand.

And… just because… add some white faux stitching on a few of the wider areas. 

CARD NUMBER THREE:

This card was a different kind of fun. Die cuts are great for me because it’s a starting point for a card. This die cut was super quick and easy to layer on my card because they are all connected!! You could whip up some fast cards with this graphic die  🙂

I added the die coming from another direction with a different paper. The black paper with the “Smile” is one of the paper from the kit.

Add this vintage looking glitter with a glue pen. Super easy to say within the lines.

    Always stunning. What I really like is the combined use of stamping and copics. I don’t think about coloring in a colored stamp image. Looks fantastic.

    I am dying to get my hands on the new Distress Glitter! I loooove all the Distress products and techniques and love how you incorporated some of that into your card. I can’t wait to try out your suggestions and ideas. And I did indeed notice the triangle you singled out from the others with a different color. LOL.
