Hello Friends, Thanks for all of your lovely comments during the Simon Says Stamp Blog Hop in my last post. Wow Simon has hit me hard with some awesome goodies and fun fun images to color. Today I bring you two cards that are entirely different from the new Simon August Card Kit. YES … you might ask…I will be giving one away today as well 🙂
It’s always so relaxing to just sit and color especially when it’s fun ice creams like these called “Ice Cream Dream” Dreamy right?. The sentiment was stamped in SSS Slate Grey ink and Schoolhouse Red Ink. After coloring I added some Wink of Stella and then a nice coat of Glossy Accents.
The paper in the kit is just so delightful it’s hard to choose what to use. Layering up with hand cut banners let me use more of the cheerful paper. I cut the window out so I could insert a Simon…. ice cream trucks need drivers!! *wink*

#1 appeals to me! Do those popsicles have chocolate ice cream and the traditional popsicle in fun colors surrounding the ice cream? Love how you did the coloring and how many pops you have on the card!!! You astound me with your talent!
Those are both fantastic Kathy! I really like Simon in the truck- adorable! However, I think I love the look of your popsicle-coated fudge pops even more. I LOVE the colors and shine!

Wow Kathy, wonderful cards and it’s impossible for me to pick a favourite – love them both! The ice creams look absolutely delicious, your colouring/shading is fantastic! Brilliant design and mix of pps on the second card. Simon driving the ice cream truck gave me a big smile:):)
Whilst I think the colouring in the first card is superb, I think it will have to be number two as I love the cheeky chappy looking out of the window and the brilliant colours of the papers bringing everything alive.

I really like card #1 ~ clean and simple cards appeal to me and this one has a lot of white space without sacrificing the WOW factor… awesome!

That’s a really tough questions, love Simon in the truck but have to say #1 is my favorite. The combination of Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents makes the pop sickles good enough to eat. Love the August kit.

I saw your first card & thought, “YUM!” Love the placement of the popsicles, the shiny to make them look real, the coloring & the placement of the words, the fudgy inside too! Love the dimension you achieve with the addition of glossy accents–also I’m learning a lot about colouring with Copics just from looking at your cards. Those blue shadows add a lot! Love the looks of the yummy products from August’s kit!
Follow-up question: I’m intrigued by the insides of your cards: there’s a bit of patterned paper peeking out–do you add a strip to the side for interest? or decorate the whole inside, too?
Thanks for noticing Caroline. Lately I have been using a sheet of patterned paper. When it comes time to write inside I might add a strip of paper or use a white gel pen. For extra special cards I duplicate the card front but, without the stamped image. For example, The layered cake card. I hope I answered your question. Thanks again, Kathy 🙂

Hi Kathy, 2 Amazing cards, so much talent! I was going to say #1 was my favorite because that ice cream is so adorable with that glossy accent on it I swear it looks so real and yummy, but then I see the 2nd card and that truck, wow that is so adorable enough on it’s own but then you throw simon the doggie in there the cuteness level goes thru the roof, so its a hard choice but if you are making us choose I guess I would say #2, thanks Kathy.

Wow tough choice. The ice cream looks so yummy in the first card. The coloring is fantastic and I like the touch of glossy accent. Really I need to choose, well both cards are just great, but if I were to make them, then it would be # 1 because card # 2 is way out of my league. Really do you expect normal people to make these cards…They are just beautiful way to cool for words.
Hands down, card #2 is my winner. Not to say that the other one isn’t fab, but the dog in the window, driving is way too cute. He reminds me of my Beagle named Monster, who is NOT allowed to drive, by the way. (ha,ha)
