I had such fun using lots of my Simon inks to decorate these shelves with the stamp set. The first card I stamped the plant repeatedly to create fun a background. For the second card I stacked the same plant to vary the size of the plant in the planters on the shelves. When you add glossy accents to the books they look like book jackets.
Every month I am delighted with all of the different elements in each kit. Check out the wood dots and a mini distress ink this month! The papers always delight and the stamp set leaves me feeling inspired. Thanks to Simon for continuing to let me give a kit away each month.

I really like and use card kits. At first I wasn’t sure but got past the “limitations” and it really helped as everything matches. SS does it well. This kit is fantastic for this little bookworm. Very cute cards!

Such fun cards, Kathy. Love the colour scheme of your second card and your creative use of the plant stamp. I bought the December 2012 card kit, but have only used it to create 1 card so far. I have considered taking a subscription, but the international shipping costs are simply prohibitive. And by the time I’m ready to place a larger order, the kits have usually sold out. ;-(

Your card is adorable and I have to say that along with the rows of books, I’m in love with the little plant and plant pot in this set! It’s too sweet! I have used one of their kits before. I used to have a subscription to them but budget constraints caused me to cut back on that monthly expense. Oh, how I’d love to play along with their sets again!

Hi Erika, When I first started stamping I found kits easier because they contained everything I needed to create some cards. Kudos to you for not being overwhelmed with product like I was. Always happy to know someone newish to stamping. 🙂

Last year I was a member at SSS card kit.
I cancelled my subscription a few months ago, shipping rates to The Netherlands are very high, unfortunately.

I have been getting the SSS kits for awhile and love them all, but this one is really special – I am a librarian and can’t wait to put this one to use. I love that you thought to put glossy accents on your books to make them look like the clear covers on library books. Regular books look so plain when you are used to seeing them all in their covers.

I always love the look of SSS kits but, like a lot of your readers, international shipping makes the price too steep ( great value for your $ if you live in USA though!). I have never used a card kit before. It would make it so much easier. It takes me ages to make a card as I have to sort through my stash trying to choose matching papers and colours.

I have used card kits in the past, find them very attractive and convenient, especially during overseas travel. Oh my gosh, Kathy, I have never used a card kit before and would love to. And those cards are adorable. I especially love the first one. Since I have a big posterior, I’ve sung the real lyrics often, LOL. AND I love to read history and biographies, so I also love big books. That’s practically got my name on it! {winkwink}

what a fun stamp set and what adorable cards!! I love reading …my favorite hobby next to stamping…so of course this caught my attention! As far as card kits go, I have used one before but I usually just dig into my stash and go for it! Using a card kit would no doubt make things easier because I wouldn’t have to take as much time to find coordinating papers and embellishments!
The first time I used a card kit was the July SSS kit. I love these book stamps!
I’ve used a card kit for making Christmas cards. It made everything quick and easy!

I have used card kits from Simon Says Stamp, Studio Calico, and Club Scrap. Each product line has a different focus. Yet the kits really make it easy to design something quick and beautiful. My favorite part of the card making process from a kit is figuring out how to use up all the little bits and pieces from the other cards I have made. Using the “leftovers” is a great challenge and tons of fun. By the way, the SSS kits are wonderful! Thanks for sharing one with a lucky reader.

I recently joined a card kit club and I am not impressed with it. I am not committed to a certain number of months so I do,plan to cancel. I have been researching SSS card kit subscription and plan to join soon. So,far, I like what I see made by the different creative talent on the DT at SSS.

Simply gorgeous cards Kathy. I bought one kit but the cost of postage is quite high to here and NZ. I have to be a bit choosy. I do love the stamps that are in the kits and often just get them and use whatever else i have on hand. You always inspire me.

Fantastic cards. Love those stamps. I have used card kits, especially when I was starting out. All the coordinating elements are very helpful and often the kits have card examples either with the kit or on their web site. Thank you for the chance to win this fabulous SSS card kit.
I’ve not used a card kit before, but only because I was a little scared of not knowing what to do with all the stuff. Purchasing something I may not use is not something I can afford with my teenie tiny budget.

I have used a card kit before and love them because everything coordinates with each other and they have so many uses besides cards though I use mine mainly for cards because you can make alot more cards from a kit. I especially like card kits when we travel, I always miss not getting to do a little crafting if I forget to grab one. I keep CTMH card kits always ready to go. This is going to be a great card kit. I have used the Simon Says Card kits in the past and just love them but also have used a few others (most of those companies are now out of businesses).
