Hello Friends, Just a super quick post today. First sorry about the video trouble yesterday…it’s all ready to go and you can watch it here.
This stamp called, “Botanical Bunch” is easy to color and one of the best botanicals I have seen in a long time. Of course I didn’t let my stamped vellum dry long enough and had a nice big smudge!! So I had to place my flowers over that instead of putting them at the end of the sentiment š IF you need an stamp set with encouragement sentiments this is it.
I cheated and used Copics to outline my image first…bad me ha ha.
I started out drawing the color from the tips with a wet brush. The colors weren’t vibrant enough so I added some Tombow on top…. a much better result. Whew!

Your card is beautiful! I love how you outlined the image with Copic markers. That really makes the images pop! The color combination is great, too. The vellum strip across the bottom is a nice touch, because it gives the florals a soft muted look. Very stunning!

Absolutely lovely coloring! Adding flowers is a great way to correct a smudge… oh how our little errors can sometimes add to our creativity š

Oh Kathy. This card is stunningly BEAUTIFUL! I should be colouring now instead of checking this out but I had to! LOL (Not sure if I am going to find time to colour today. It is our son in laws b-day and we have a 2 hour drive to go see him and not sure when I’ll get home…) I am going to try but I’m hoping to bring our 3 yr. old grandson home with me for the night. hehe

I had fun yesterday with a sunflower stamp, some Crayola watercolor pencils and my now-not-new Dove blender pen. I was working on cardstock and managed to get it too wet in a few places, but overall it was a relaxing way to end my day and get ready for bed. Not sure what I will try today. Thanks for pushing me to play with my things. I may just try something with my regular water-based markers today. My gk’s and I did the scribble and paintbrush thing a few months ago, and they loved it.

So pretty, Kathy, and that stamp is wonderful as well. I’ve just spent my afternoon stamping all sorts of images on different cardstocks, so I can grab one of them if i want to colour. I did a quick test run last night using the Aquamarker blender pen with my Inktense pencils and found it works great. So thanks again for setting this challenge and for inspiring us all.

Beautiful! I think I need the Botanical Bunch set!! I just realized that I don’t have many flower stamps! This is a beautiful set!! Will be posting today’s coloring on IG later today as I haven’t gotten up and about yet today!

Kathy,
What a beautiful effect! LOVE the colors on the flowers.
A question: you mentioned going over the colored pencil with Tombo to make the colors more vibrant. Did you mean the Mono Multi glue or Glossy Accents?
Sheri K says
Beautiful! I have added my day 2 and 3 to the blog, tried Instagram yesterday but I’ve not done that before so don’t know if it worked. Sorry. but my link didn’t seem to appear on the blog. I’m having fun with this, thanks for sponsoring!

Hi Kathy,
I love watercolor and Copics for coloring. You do a great job coloring your projects.
SSS Hand Lettered Stamps are some of my most favorite. It is easy to see why the
Encouragement set you used in this project has already sold out.

DELIGHTFUL card Kathy!!!
LUCKY you thought to add the flowers over the sentiment … I get impatient and often smudge things too, though I’m not as creative as you in thinking of ways to still use them š
LOVE how you highlighted each flower cluster – hoping to add Copics to my stash one day!!!

I have to say I love 1. painting off the pencils, 2. coloring your background first (it ain’t cheatin’! no way, no how!) and 3. the flowers at the start of the sentiment- happy mistake if you ask me.
jengd says
Oh! And sorry for the confusion and putting my stuff on the site and instagram. I’ve nuked my InLinkz posts and kept the Instagram ones.

Stunning!! Just so you know, I’ve got about 3 days to catch up with the challenge but I’m rearing to go. I am NOT a happy colourer and rather depend on stamping techniques but I’ve decided to get out my box with this challenge!
