Hello Friends, How are you? It’s an exciting day today because I get to share two cards, a video and an amazing giveaway with you. Woo Hoo!!
It’s Mama Elephant’s June Release and they always delight and inspire me with their ingenious stamp designs. A.L.W.A.Y.S. 🙂
This clever and oh so adorable stamp set is called, “Chance of Rain” and it’s especially perfect for this season. The video shows you how I created the background w/ a super easy sidewalk for the above card.

Both cards are colored with the Zig watercolor markers & both have vellum accents.
On my second card I created one of those umbrella hats with the umbrella by cutting off the handle. This was a pretty quick card to make and the first time I used the ME “Grassy Trio” ….so fun!

Both of these cards are so awesome. I think the first one is my favorite, though.. I love how the sky is so gloomy, but the coats and umbrella are so bright and cheerful. Just really awesome. Thanks so much for sharing, and thanks for the video. I’m not getting blog updates for some reason, and since there was a video, I did get that update so I was able to pop over to the blog from there. ^_^ Yay technology!!
I can’t pick a favorite card but the images with the rain coats are too cute. I just got my grandson a coat like Paddington Bear. This would be the neatest image to stamp on a scrapbook page of him.
SO cute! I think I like the first one best…but they’re both so cute! I live in the Pacific Northwest so I know all about rain! 🙂

That’s a hard call! Both of your cards are so cute and coloured so beautifully, but I think I like the first. I love the sentiment and that it’s such a supportive message. With the bright coats and umbrellas, it’s just perfect for sending to friends who are having a hard time or a dip. Can’t believe we’re half way already! Still loving the challenge and trying to keep it up as much as possible. Xx

I was tempted to finally buy some cute ME sets at IE this weekend (at a 29% discount), but the ones I fancied were already out of stock, as were the TH Crazy birds. However, I did manage to snag some Paper Smooches and Lawn Fawn sets. 🙂

The first one is my favourite – I just love the closeness of the relationship between the characters; the two hands holding the umbrella is just adorable.

While I absolutely love the second card with the cut out and cute little guy on the inside of the card….there’s just something about the first card’s complete scene maybe it’s the sharing the umbrella that steals my heart.

Both cards are fabulous, and even though we’ve had a TON of rain this Spring, I’m leaning toward the stormy (first) card as my favorite! The grey background makes the kids and umbrella stand out all that much more. So cute!

I liked the second card because of the design. Putting the piece of vellum over the circle and putting the little girl behind – makes her look like she’s under a porch or overhang.
She’s protected from the rain. the little boys umbrella hat is cute.
These little stamps are great – you can practice your coloring without having to cover large areas.

These are just the cutest – perfect for making little scenes. Both cards are wonderful, but I gravitate more to the second as I’m more a CAS girl who loves white space.

The first card is my favorite! ME release is wonderful and I just love the “chance of rain” stamp set. The little boy reminds me so much of my sweet grandson that lives in Portland, OR. Thanks so much for the opportunity to acquire one of the stamps and dies.
Both cards are terrific, but I do like the sentiment on the first one, I’m needing that message! My daughter and hubby are moving for a job transfer and I’m devastated. They are currently an hour away, but will be several states away! I understand they need to do this and I’m actually trying to “help” with allowing them to store some things at our house etc. I’ve been coloring every day, and it’s helping keep me a bit calmer. I may have to continue coloring and I’ll have lots of images for cards, ready to go!
Sheri, It’s difficult when our children go farther from the nest but you have the right idea. Coloring is a great escape. You’ll need to send your daughter and her hubby cards now. Stay calm. 🙂

The sky here today looks just like the sky in your first card! I like that card because I have had so many friends and family help me weather the storm called cancer. I am a 5 year survivor and give others hope. This stamp set would be so nice to make cards and give them to others weathering the storms of life.

Hard to choose a favorite. The one thing I really do like about this challenge was it made me try out a bunch of different coloring mediums. I stamped an image and colored it with distress markers, zig clear color brushes, peerless water colors, prismacolors, copics and zig kuretake gansai tambe water colors. Although some were better than others, I proved to myself that I could make something at least presentable with all of them. That was exciting to me. I will post them all soon.

Definitely the first one!! I have been the one under that dark, dark cloud and s-o-o-o-o needed those who weathered it with me. That’s one of those things you just can’t pay back, only pass on to others. And it’s priceless!

Well, wouldn’t you know it – I’m down hard with what I believe is a summer cold. I feel rotten. But I’ll tell you what has perked me up — this wonderful video! I adore both the cards and loved the use of vellum. I also loved the quick inky sky you created on the first card. One thing I continue to learn in challenges like this – color quickly. When I make a mistake, it helps me learn how to fix it. So for me it’s a twofer! (she laughs). If I’m feeling better tomorrow I’ll try to color some more. But right now I’ve got the miserables.

I love the first one. It’s so cute that they are hanging onto the umbrella. In the second one it looks like she should be hanging onto something and she’s not. I love both of them for all the colors. Your cards are amazing as usual.
I did some coloring on a pot I decorated for my sister. I had some paint that had silver sparkles in it and I colored the pot with it. Then I used an erasure from the end of a pencil to make colored dots on the pot over the silver. Around the edge of the top of the pot I put blue washi tape that had silver sparkles in it. Wish I had a photo because it looked awesome! I love to color!

I did a search on-line to see what I could do, what would withstand being outdoors. I really like how it came out and I want to do more! Maybe along with everything else I make and sell I can do flower pots! I just love how the wash tape looked and the glitter paint and I got to color!

Love both but the weathering the storm one is my favorite. I loved how you colored it and the sidewalks were so cool – definitely going to copy that in the future. If you want to ever remember the color of the rainbow, just remember Roy G BiV – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet.

I love the sidewalk on the first one and the umbrella hat on the second. Both are so cute…so hard to choose! Chance of happiness might have the edge only because its a little brighter.

Thanks for the great tips and techniques. I love the watercolor look on cards, but am sometimes intimidated by it’s nature.
