Hello Friends, How are you? Yesterday I said that I would finish my card today. How about a change in plans? I really wanted to watercolor these new stamps from W-Plus9.
I love creating backgrounds with one or two stamps from a set. I fell hard for this stamp set called, “Doodle Buds” and there is a matching die cut too. Finally I was able to take the my new Zig Clean brush pens for a test drive. You can purchase them separately at Simon if that interests you.
Sorry for the bad photos tonight…just a kitchen counter kinda night lol. I get such pleasure making these backgrounds. I did my outline thing with a copic marker when the watercolors dried.
Who can stop at one…not me! Love the simplicity of this.
Not sure if this is finished but, just had to color a bunch of the flowers in the stamp set. These flowers get me so pumped!
Go here to read more about the 30 Day Coloring Challenge and if you want to share what your creating go to Day 1 and scroll to the bottom of the post. You will find a blue Inlinkz tab to link up your coloring.
Thanks for weighing in yesterday about You Tube. I swear you guys are the best. Big Hugs, Kathy

Love! What a fantastic idea. You’re giving me so much inspiration every day – through your blog and IG and the number of people doing the challenge I’m following too. I’ll not lack any mojo for a while now!! Xx
Mojo is important so make sure your give yourself some mojo every day. 🙂
This is a fact. When life takes me away from creating, my senses become dull. When I do creating every day, even just a little, I am more sensitive to shapes, colors and textures around me. I appreciate your 30 Day Coloring Challenge so much because it keeps me connected to what I love to do. You really have no idea of the effect your challenge has on people. It goes beyond putting a little color on paper just for fun. It expresses who I am and who I aspire to be. It gives a satisfaction that I get nowhere else. It is so exciting to get my new idea onto paper. I hope you will continue to have these fun challenges that stir up my mojo. 🙂
Kathy I love how you coloured these flowers and your backgrounds. I was looking at these stamps and decided not to get when I did my order – ohh the regrets I have….. You are so good.
Great backgrounds. Very cleverly done.
Oh my Kathy these are beautiful. The colours are so vibrant. Zig pens, another think to look up. You are such a wealth of information. I just watched one of your videos where you talk about light and shadows. Its so refreshing to hear you say just put them where you think as I always had this thought I was doing it wrong now I know it doesn’t matter. Awesome.
I’m thrilled you aren’t worrying about shadows anymore! Have fun for you. 🙂
This is BEAUTIFUL KATHY!!! 😉
I jumped in & tried to add my creation. It says I’m linked, but I don’t see it, so I wonder…..? Just wanted you to know I AM playing along! 😉 KEEP UP ALL THE COLORING!!! 😀
These are great! I’m looking at getting a set of watercolor markers… I can’t pull the trigger… Spectrum aqua? Zig? Akashiya? Suggestions?
My favorite is the Zig hands down. You can get a marker look and a watercolor look. The brush tip is fabulous for detail and washes. Colors blend beautifully. *80 colors to choose from individually or sets. A Zig video coming soon.
You did a fabulous job with those flowers, I love them! Will you please do a video using those Zig pens soon? I can’t seem to make anything but a mess with them!
Cute stamps and cute background!! Looking forward to see how you’d use that sweet bouquet!!
Beautiful backgrounds! Just ordered that set too but it probably won’t arrive before I go on vacation. It’s even harder to wait for them to arrive now I’ve seen your beauties. Thanks for the inspiration tough.
I love the blue and purple on the flowers on the card. Thanks for sharing again 🙂
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it! Stunning!
I second the request for you to film some coloring with the zig markers when you have time. Would love to see how you got your blend of colors. Beautiful!
These are absolutely gorgeous! You are so talented, your posts blow me away every day! Just WOW!
Gorgeous!
I just had to laugh! I have a similar stamp set which I played with two ways last night and was not spectacularly pleased with my results. Will be re-attempting tonight with multiple colors, brighter, and blended. Thanks for such a timely post!!!!
PS I wouldn’t mind a process video of this one!!! :))
Ooooh, Kathy, these are soooooooooooooooo gorgeous. I just saw these at Jennifer McGuires site and fell in love with them. Well, I can’t wait to get my own set. You have made them irresistible. Your coloring is always jaw dropping. Thanks for the inspiration.
Very pretty Kathy. Its hard to stop once you get colouring sometimes. LOL
It’s all good to lose yourself in coloring and lose track of time! LOL
It certainly is! I love it!
Sometimes you just have to go with what moves you. I finished a few cards so far with things I colored while traveling, but yesterday I’m not sure I actually did 10 minutes actually coloring but I did play with paper so it’s all good. Today, not sure yet, but I think I might make stationary.
Just make sure you do for you everyday. All play is good. 🙂
Love these bright colors and your fab backgrounds!
LOVE those backgrounds you created!
I just love how you colored all 3 of these. I ordered that flower set and can’t wait to color it as well. Thanks for the inspiration!
Holy Moly! You are such an amazing colorist!
wonderful
Kathy – amazing!! I fell in love with this set too and now you’ve given me all sorts of inspiration for it!! Thanks!
Love the background idea – I have been trying to decide on this set too! Thanks so much for the ideas!

Love the doodle buds stamp set.. Thanks for sharing this. It is SO beautiful. I’ve been wanting to get that set since the first time I saw it. ^_^ I think it might just have to be my next purchase. hehe
I’m enjoying the 30 Day coloring again. I finally ordered some of the Zig markers. Can’t wait till they get here. Thanks for all the inspiration, Kathy. You are the best, girl.
These backgrounds intrigue me. I love this stamp set and I can see now I need it. I also need a set of these markers. Must get busy on this plan. Thanks for sharing. I love your coloring…beautiful.
Hi Kathy, I just knew you would fall for this new stamp set. It has your name written all over it. Just came home from a trip to Heraklion to buy a new B/W laser printer for my home office and managed to snag some Sakura Micron pens, W&N liquid masking (I seem to misplacing this all the time) and a W&N Cotman water colour pad in the same shop. Sure beats ordering them from the US and paying for shipping. Turns out the pens and the masking fluid were also considerably cheaper than in the US (for a change). 😉

Wow These are simply awesome! I love this set too! It’s definitely on my wish list!
Lovely coloring. I didn’t actually color yesterday, but organized some things in my craft room. I ordered some more colored pencils to round out my collection. (Maybe that can count) I will color twice as long today. Thanks for the inspiration.
It all counts when you are having fun. This challenge is for you to make time for you.
Oh my gosh – these are gorgeous! I just received mine yesterday and haven’t had a chance to ink them up. We are in the middle of VBS at my church and I spent last night chasing 18 three and four year olds! Once my Aleve kicks in I plan to ink these beauties up….thanks for such lovely inspiration this morning!
I would need more than Aleve and a lot of coloring to recover from all those little ones. LOL
Lovely again Kathy! Great backgrounds and such fun coloring. I’m having a wonderful time coloring, which reminds me, time to send you another photo from my last coloring!
Wow! Another glorious day of colour inspiration! Also, thanks for replying to my query – much appreciated, Jo x
When the release of this set came out, I have to admit, I put it on a wish list but you have transformed it into a MUST HAVE YESTERDAY (which is when my WPlus9 Order came) lol When you stated you are not an artist but a colorist in your video, I must disagree, you are indeed an Artist. I would frame those beautiful flowers and hang them on my wall. Thank you for teaching so much! ~M~
Awwww thanks! 🙂
Beautiful! Love the bold color palette for the backgrounds. Once again, you have inspired my to use color in new and interesting ways. Thank you =)
I think your change in plans worked out beautifully, Kathy! Your water coloring is amazing…I love how you created a background with these small images…Looks like expensive designer paper to me 🙂 Thanks for your inspiration!
Love the beautiful way you have combined colors. Beautiful backgrounds.
Hi Kathy — I am SO loving these wonderful tutorials! Hope to some day color just half as well as YOU!!
Hugs and thanks for your sweet note — I am doing great and will continue to WIN my Cancer Battle!!

Just got my Clean Color 12 set….love this doodle stamp set! You are so clever!
The colors on these flowers are FAAAAAANTASTIC! LOVE the variations and shading you achieved! Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for sponsoring this daily challenge… it’s been so good for me (especially now that I can catch up again with my daughters graduation festivities out of the way!) and I’ve gained so many new followers on Instagram as well as discovered some new designers to follow myself!
Love these cards. Your coloring and detailing are superb. Your method of embellishing images with doodling is fantastic, I got to give it a try. I “need” this flower set, it is gorgeous. Cheers!
Wow Kathy, love these bright images!! Thanks for sharing.
WOW!! You rock at the watercolor technique!! I LOVE how you did the flowers. STUNNING and oh so vibrant!!!
I love, love, love these doodle buds and how you’ve colored them…. so vibrant and beautiful!
Kathy…..you cease to amaze me! This is soo beautiful! Lovedthat you use various mediums & stamps to complete this!
Love the backgrounds. Those colors are so vibrant. have to get my hands on those markers.
Oh my gosh! The colors are amazing! I love how it all looks. You are so good at this! I hope you enjoyed what I sent you. I’m almost done with my Chinese or Japanese kite picture for Dover’s coloring contest. My mom had to go for a mammogram today and I went with her because she has bad knees and needs my help with her cane and walking. I took my coloring so while I was waiting I could color. I brought my colored pencils and a clip board. Hey, when they don’t have any good magazines to look at you can always color!
Wow! Those colours practically jump off the page, I love it! I wasn’t sure about this stamp set, but I am so glad now that I added it to my cart on the weekend so they are on their way. You have given me a lot more inspiration to use them now 🙂
i love these! such a creative way to use stamps for backgrounds – something i always struggle with so thanks for the inspiration! this stamp set was already on my wish list. 🙂
Really beautiful love the background you created
These are totally awesome!! LOVE them!!! When I am feeling better they will be on their way to me I hope! Great coloring and I love all the little details that you add to make them even more special!
