Hello Friends, How are you today? It’s Day 19. and I have a “Reason to Smile”! It’s a blog hop from Simon Says Stamp showcasing their new release called,”Reason To Smile“.
I used the adorable “Melody’s Easter” stamp set and Peeps Background to create my life on the farm scene.
Unfortunately the door I used as an interactive element is discontinued. However, I linked to a window die that I LOVE from Mama Elephant below. (I couldn’t find my window…here’s a card I made with the window)
I just love the sweet images from this set. Just precious. I wanted to share a video on my coloring process. Click here to see it the video larger.
I stamped these wonderful mini backgrounds to create the pattern on the dress and if you are looking for a screen click here.
Wow I was determined to ink these daffodils up. I had such major technical difficulties today with my video…that I REALLY NEEDED TO COLOR! Finally I had time to sit and color …what a relief lol :).
The Lawn Fawn plaid paper was a nice backdrop and I added some vellum under the flowers.
Ah…there is a matching die cut too.
The release has stamps, dies, embossing powders, and even FELT! Yes, felt 🙂 Made in Italy, It’s the most perfect felt for die cutting!
You should be arriving here from my sweet talented friend Kristina Werner. The next stop on the hop is the super creative Wanda Guess. Click HERE if you want to stop at the beginning of the hop.
GIVEAWAY: A Simon Goody bag on every stop of the hop. The more you comment on each blog the more chances you have of winning. There will be a winner on each stop of the hop for a prize package valued at approximately $50. The winners will announced on the Simon blog on Tues. February 23.
Thank You for your visit and wishing you a wonderful weekend. See you tomorrow. Hugs, Kathy

I’ve used screen on a card before….hubby had some pieces in the garage from when he re-screened a door a long time ago….worked great. If you have the more open weave screen, you can use it like a stencil, too…with inks or textured pastes. I need to do this again. Thanks for the reminder.

Always get a chuckle out of your ancient piece of towel, but it sure works to give texture to your critters. Love the colors and creativity!
I really enjoy how creative your coloring is! Your color combinations work so well, even though they do not follow the Copic color family numbers. I really enjoy your videos, your coloring and your cards. I just started with Copics, and I have learned a lot from you. Thanks!
Thanks so much Kathy for sharing these beautiful and adorable cards with us! Love the screen door with the little sheep peeking in! At first I thought the plaid background on the daffodil card was the gingham stamp. Either one is a great idea. Keep up the good work!
GORGEOUS! I love the velum overlay for the background, great release!

Oh my goodness, I loved your video! I learned so much about “winging’ it” with coloring your image. That was so much fun to watch. And those daffodils are wonderful. SSS has done it again with their release
The first card is just so cute. I love those sheep peeking in. The daffodils on the 2nd card really pop with your amazing coloring.
You did great, in fact, I would probably say “um” more than you did. Watched it all the way through, and learned from you. Thanks!
The screen door or window, that little girl and critters . . . spring on the farm! Love it!
Awesome use of shading in your coloring of the image.
As usual your cards are awesome!!!
This card is awesome! I love the door and the colors, so happy and springy

Beautiful! I want to try copic markers someday, cannot believe such pretty color blending can be achieved with markers! Pretty flowers you colored!
A screen door! So creative… But I love the flower card more
The first card is super cute! Looks like SSS needs to release a screen door die. The daffodils are sort of a strange color, but don’t look bad. If you would have colored them bright hot mama fuschia, I’m sure Laura Bassen would have called the “Daffodil Police”.
lol thanks for your honesty Judy. I like to present other options since everyone else will color them mostly yellow. With that said I am excited to color them yellow too.
WOW, Kathy!!! Both are gorgeous, but daffodils… STUNNING!!! Love love love!! :o)
what a creative scene you have created, love the screen door
Absolutely amazing. I love the dress, and how you layered everything. The screen door is too adorable. Thanks so much for sharing. Both of your cards are gorgeous!

ha, a screen door, what cute idea!
Love, that bunny and the way you colored the girl’s dress. Cool!
So cute. Love your colouring techniques.
What a generous giveaway!! Love the cards you created using these images!!
Love both cards , the screen door card looks such fun, we don’t tend to have screen doors in the UK but we might be getting there as netting screens to put up on the inside of our doors are becoming more popular . We probably don’t have them as we don’t always get the summer weather to merit them and as our doors open the wrong way ,well french doors/patios all to do with having smaller houses I guess.
the daffodils I love as its a sign of spring here and we have some starting to pop up in our gardens ,your colouring is fab as usual the trumpet really looks as it has depth, thanks again for sharing and fab hop too.
Love watching you color!
I wonder why I never thought of using a (mini) background stamp to make clothes look different, great idea, thanks for sharing.
loved both our cards but the daffodils were my favourite! and I agree – the plaid was the best backdrop, the vellum a touch that really finished it up. thank you

So love that interactive screen door. I think something similar could be done with a window die doubled vertically with some finessing for those without a door die. Cute scene.

Hola, Kathy! I hope you are well. Is it cold in Maryland? I’m in San Antonio and all last week we hit 80*F. Spring has arrived here. Of course, blazing summer is not too far behind. We don’t do things gradually here. ha-ha. Anyway, when I saw your screen door card, I laughed. Not at you or your card, but because it reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer puts a screen door on his apartment door. He even adds a water hose and wind chime like a house. It’s one of my favorite episodes. ha-ha. By the way, my 74 year old mom has been coloring everyday! Great cards, Kathy! Keep warm.
so creative and fun
