Hello Friends, How are you? I am missing “seeing” you all everyday 🙁 that’s the part I miss most when the 30 day coloring challenge is over.
I am back today to celebrate Simon Says Stamp with their new and exciting “Spring Plush” release blog hop! This release also has a stamp set that was a collaboration with Neat & Tangled PLUS lots of Plush dies, beautiful felt and everything to make your own plush delights like thread, needles and felt glue!
I have a video today to show you how I created these vellum carrots stuffed with jelly beans. They will be a sweet treat to rip open and for the candies to spill out for someone special. A mini piñata perhaps.
To watch the video in HD click here.
Sewing is something I have always really enjoyed doing so I was super excited for Simon Says Stamp’s new collection. Creating the carrots I used this heavy weight vellum. Fun foam was used on the tops of the carrots with vellum on top of the fun foam to give it more structure.
You can sew on paper, vellum, fabric and or felt. Adding color with floss gives my carrots a nice variety of color.
Honestly I had so much fun I wanted to make some sugar rush flowers. Break open if you are need of a sweet treat. These flowers would be great on a pillow, baby shirt, guest towel, tote bag or to make a sachet. I can go on and on lol. I was lucky to pick up this pastel vellum at Simon a while ago.
Fill a glass jar with some jelly beans and you have a fun centerpiece for Easter or a special occasion.
I promise once you start you can’t stop. A pocket was made on the large egg to hold the sweet lil bunny. I used the Easter basket strap on the egg to hold the carrot. I stuffed the bunny with batting, the carrot with bubble wrap and the large egg with cotton. When my dog rips apart his stuffed toys I will be saving the stuffing next time!
GIVEAWAY: A Simon Goody bag on every stop of the hop. The more you comment on each blog the more chances you have of winning. There will be a winner on each stop of the hop for a prize package. The winners will announced on the Simon blog onMonday, March 7.
You should be arriving here from the talented Amy Rysavy . The next stop on the hop is the super sweet & talented Taheerah Atchia . Click HERE if you want to stop at the beginning of the hop.
Thank You for your visit and wishing you a wonderful weekend. Hugs, Kathy

Love the idea with the candies. And the bunny, egg and carrot are adorable all together.
My grandmother used to make little felt ornaments and sold them at craft shows… 30 years ago! Glad to see this fun idea trending again! She cut everything by hand. We now have these fabulous dies!
Oh my goodness! These projects are just too cute for words!! Love the little garden you have going with the vellum creations and the jelly beans!!
Such cute projects, Kathy. Love that you used both felt and vellum.

Love all your projects but the little bunny stole my heart! He’s so sweet!
Your talents never cease! I do sew or should I say I know how to sew — I have not sewn lately! Ha! I don’t even sew on my cards! The felt is now the new thing I see… Was adorable at Christmas and is adorable here at Easter. Might have to join in and take the plunge… Love your projects!
I think these are so cute and will definitely be part of my Easter decorations.
What a fun new release! Lovin’ it!
Great projects to inspire! So adorable Thanks for the chance to win!
God bless!
Great idea for Easter guests!
Thanks for the video!! It’s always great to see someone else’s exact technique when creating these adorable crafts!
I really loved these creations, they are awesome!!
So very adorable. Loved everything, want everything!!!
Great ideas! Thanks for sharing.
I love those vellum carrot pouches!
Aaaaacccchhhhh!!!! I LOVE vellum and you nailed it. I miss “seeing” you, too, and have the last few days of the coloring challenge to catch up on. Silly me, I thought I could get some coloring done while sitting with my mother all week long in the hospital, but it wasn’t to be. I’m taking a day off and will get to those and see what else is happening on the hop.
Thanks for sharing! Those carrots are adorable! I love the look of the centerpiece!
These are all adorable
So very cute!!

I love your vellum carrots and flowers! So creative! TFS
So fun and cute, great decor too.
So adorable
Hi Kathy!! What a great way to make treat bags! I love the vellum. So cute!! Love your felt bunny and egg too. Lovely glass basket…I live just a hop skip and a jump from the Fenton glass shop in S.W. Missouri. I rarely go in there because I could spend hours looking at glass! I love the different patterns and colors, it’s much like looking at stamps and dies. LOL eep!
After a fantastic month of coloring videos you should reward your self with some sweet carrots! Nice job
Super fabulous project and a great release.
As always, I LOVE these projects, Kathy!!! I’ve always found sewing so relaxing, too (and of course coloring), and these new dies that cut out all of the holes for you make it even better! Thank you so much for another great video and projects! XO
Super cute! Thanks for the ideas!
Very cute bunny and carrot.
I would have thought that sewing on vellum would tear the vellum. Thanks for showing me otherwise!
Those vellum carrots are fabulous… what a great idea. Love the felt bunny and carrot project too… so cute.
Luv the bunny in the carrot. CUTE CUTE CUTE
Oh my these are great projects perfect for Easter egg hunt!!
