Hello Friends, How are ya? I am back … so soon you might ask? I made a promise to you to share the story…. here is the beautiful couple and I was so grateful and so blessed to have a little part in the big plan. They sent me this hours after she said YES!
Jordan had such a creative plan and everything was in motion except … the paper part. Her day started with her regular exercise class where the scavenger hunt began. Her friend gave her an envelope that let her to the next place … the nail salon where a friend surprised her & gave her another envelope. The next envelope led her to a hair salon where another friend surprised her and gave her another envelope. The third envelope led her to her final destination to a hotel … he was waiting at the hotel bar.
She was traveling via the metro so each envelope had the metro stations on the out side of the envelope and the time she had to be at each location. I am so in love with this sophisticated script and it was the perfect way to implement Jordan’s ideas. (The script is available in upper case too). Tim Holtz vintage “Things” stamp was perfect to set the time for each location.
This is what the scavenger hunt plan looked like all laid out. The shoe card I think he used later? I really wanted to used the shoe stamp on each envelope but, we didn’t have time.
Jordan’s mom and I didn’t want to write the addresses to each location … we wanted her to guess and do a math problem to figure out the full address … hahah so fun. Turns out when you are on a scavenger hunt math is hard cause you are super excited. We used a label printer for the tags… each envelope had a tag with the address “problems” to solve.
Once she met Jordan at the bar … I think he left to “go to the bathroom” but, not really. After 10 minutes or so … the bartender gave her the last envelope … the finish line (she’s a runner) and a quote that he picked out. The key was in that last envelope plus another key where Jordan was waiting with a photo album, flowers etc. So romantic right? Again the script stamp … saved us .. they look so beautiful on these bright envelopes.
These days friends know before the “bride to be” knows that she’s going to get engaged. It’s so different now but, good thing friends can keep secrets like this…. So the next day Jordan arranged a brunch and invite all of their close friends & family (another surprise). His dear mom bought a sign at the Michaels? You could barely see the letters …. soooo …
I die cut some large circles and put the letters on top so they would stand out. I added ribbon on the sides of the poster to add color and tie in the scavenger elements.
That’s the story. Did you see the engagement card I made this beautiful couple? You can see it in my last post here. Thank you letting me share this story and have a great day! Hugs, Kathy
P.S. Jordan’s mom … she is the one that showed me how to emboss … I was hooked and my love for stamping began.

Awww so sweet, your the best for helping him or them out. When my hubby asked me I had no idea. It was around my birthday in July and we had gone to the Mall to do some shopping. Went to Helzberg Diamonds he wanted me to check out the ruby jewelry so I was. Little did I know, he was looking at rings. He called me over and asked me if he were ever to get brave and ask me to marry him what ring would I like. ( Keep in mind rings never fit me in the stores) I picked of course one of the most expensive ones, tried it and OMG it fit!! He got down on one knee right there and asked me to “Marry him and make him happy for the rest of his life” throughout the tears of joy and the surprise I said “Yes”. So of course now we are in a photo album in that store. Very Happy and married now for almost 14 years.

Hi Kathy,
What a wonderful idea Jordan had! So much fun to have the scavenger hunt.
I wonder if she figured it out along the way? Love the bright colours and the way
the questions sent her to the next location. Jordan really thought the whole thing
through!! So very happy you had a part in it and Jordan’s mom too.
Congratulations to all of you!
They are such a beautiful couple and what a memorable engagement! I think this is so romantic! You must have had so much fun being a part of this and creating the little instruction cards. Those questions and math equations are tricky! I keep wondering what the bride-to-be was thinking all along the way while doing the scavenger hunt! The excitement must have been building! I really enjoyed reading this! Awesome job, Kathy!
What a wonderful story to have and share for the rest of their lives together!
Kathy, please let Anna & Jordan know i am praying for many years of love, deep commitment and happiness!
My hint to couples getting married… Start your married life off by finding 3 or 4 minutes to slow dance every day! At home, in a grocery store if you hear a special song….anywhere! It let’s you focus on just the two of you, your love, your smiles….without asking about the bills or answering the phone. It has worked beautifully almost every day for 20 years now.
Congratulations!
