Yesterday I had a long appointment so I packed up some markers one stamped image and was able to color up some of thisĀ beautiful flower from Studio Katia. (I have to work a day ahead and sometimes I don’t even have the chance to do that). I finished this literally 30 minutes ago when the email hits your in box.
I remembered to take a photo in the middle of my coloring. When I arrived home … later I added some colored accents to my copic coloring with some pencils. This is the ink I used.
Any chance you were aware thatĀ Simon Says Stamp is having a 25% off copic sale until March 30th. USE THE CODE MARKERSALE.Ā Ā I love a good sale and if you haven’t taken the plunge to buy the blending solution I use all the time … why not try when it’s on sale.
To create my background I used these elongated dotted hexagons with some distress ink. I glued the dies down and trimmed my card panel.
GIVEAWAY!! Win a goodie bag containing a Studio Katia stamp. Winner will be announced at the end of the challenge. Just leave me a Ā hello in the comment area.
See you tomorrow for a video and more coloring and thanks to Studio Katia for the giveway. Thanks for popping in! Hugs, Kathy
P.S.Ā Click here for DAY 1. TO UPLOAD YOUR COLORINGĀ on my blog or here on Instagram or here on FacebookĀ (itās a closed group). Please remember to use the hashtag #thedailymarker30day and for kids & young adults #thedailymarker30daykids
P.S.S. If you have any questions about the coloring challenge you can refer to this post and see myĀ Ā video here. The premise of āThe Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challengeā is to color something everyday even if itās for five minutes. (However feel free to Ā jump in or out as time permits). Any coloring medium is welcomed.

Gorgeous flower, Kathy. Also love how your die cut hexagons add texture and interest without distracting from the main image. I have managed to do quite a bit of colouring last week and even turned the coloured into cards. Woot!

Hello!
Beautiful card.
I have to try the no-line coloring.
Keep saying I’m going to do it
but that is as far as it goes.
thanks for sharing.
Hi Kathy! Gorgeous card, love the coloring!
Hello! I’ve just started coloring with copics and keep finding my image looks almost TOO blended. I love the way you use colored pencils to give the image some definition and pop!! I’m going to have to try that!!
Hi Kathy! I love that background, such a clever idea! Your flower is gorgeous in those nice warm colors. Loving this challenge, finally got a card posted! So fun!
So glad to hear you’re having fun. That’s the goal! š
Hello! Happy st. Pats!
BEAUTIFULLY DONE, KATHY! The flower looks 3-D! And I also like those dies you’ve used, so different! I think I need something different like that to mix it up! LOL SUPER JOB, AGAIN! Take a breather, at least to sit & drink a cup of tea!!! You have been working so hard on this challenge for everyone!!! š AND WE APPRECIATE IT TOO!!! <3
Hello-beautiful card, and I love the background. I never think to use dies that way.
BEAUTIFUL card, love it. Great idea to make your appt. time go by faster. I love that flower. I was trying to figure out how you got the “dots” on the flower, it looks like you might of splattered it on somehow, however you did it ,it makes it “pop”.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Happy coloring everyone.
I used the brush tip of my copic marker using a light hand and touch. Copic dots are great for texture. The fine lines were done with colored pencils over copics. Keep finding time for you. š
I love the shades you used for this card. So pretty.
So gorgeous Kathy; I love how you explore ALL colors of the rainbow and nothing limits you; love the shaded hexagons, gosh, they are gorgeous too!! Thanks for sharing your talent with us!

If I can find the time today I am going to try something different for today’s coloring. I really want to give the no line coloring a try and think it is time to take the plunge! This weekend will be another coloring all day one for me because my 4 year old granddaughter goes to visit her mom tonight till Monday! I will miss her but enjoy a little down time since there were 2 snow days this week and my old body is exhausted from all the fun we had together!! See you tomorrow for your next blog post! tFS!

Hi, Kathy! Your card is so pretty. I want you to know that I am really enjoying the challenge. This is my first time participating. I am starting to enjoy coloring more even though I still struggle. Enjoy your day!

Well, helllooo there! Am enjoying the challenge, thanks for doing this. I must say you do take the stress out of Copic coloring, so I don’t get so hung up on the “right” color combinations -it’s a relief!
That’s the fun of copics. I’m always finding new combos. Keep playing š
Beautiful! I love the background too – it just adds so much!
lyn

Hello Hello Kathy. Gorgeous card. Your coloring is awesome.
Hi Kathy! Another beautiful coloring job–beautiful card. I’m doing pretty good with coloring at least something every day, some of the detailed coloring book pages take longer, but are certainly fun to do. I just need to turn some of them into cards. Happy St. Paddy’s day to you!
I agree that some of the detailed coloring books could take days. Sometimes you can spot color and leave the background plain and still make a gorgeous card. Having fun is the goal of the challenge. š
hello š thanks for the wonderful tutorial. happy st. patrick’s day
Hello, Kathy! That is one gorgeous flower!
Howdy! Really like those elongated hexagon dies and how you colored them.
This is so lovely and inspires me to give it a try. I’m soon to be 85 yrs. old and really enjoy trying to make cards as lovely as yours. My favorite color is pink/mauve so I’ll try these colors and hopefully mine will look half as good as yours. TFS. Marlene
You are an impressive young lady. Try adding a little peach to your pink and see if you like it. Have fun experimenting. Thank you for your support.
Hello Kathy, such beautiful coloring on that gorgeous flower.

Thiscard is so pretty. And the colours you chose for the flower and back ground is so cool and new.
Quite lovely!! Beautiful coloring and beautiful design!
Hello, Kathy!
Hello. I’ve been getting into coloured pencils lately and it’s going very well!
Fabulous! Keep having fun!;)
One stamp? Now that is some good quality control. When I have Long appointments I always bring stuff to color or scribble on and always have way too much stuff tagging along.
That’s just the way my mind thinks though. I’m always thinking what if I get tired of coloring this one, I’ll always have another on stand by.
I love orange flowers. In your last post I mentioned tiger lilies. That’s about the color they are. Gorgeous coloring from you as usual.
By the way, I sent you a pm the other day asking about the stamp set you made up for November 2015 hero arts my hero club, did you find it?
I know it’s been a while but I’m hoping to find someone who might have that stamp set they don’t want anymore.
Anyway great day of color again.
Hi Marykay, Yes I actually have one. Can you send me your address? I suck at email and FB and I am working on that but, not successfully yet lol. If you can be patient I will get it to you in a few weeks at no charge. Woo Hoo
Hello again.
How super nice of you. Totally wasn’t expecting that. I am more than willing to pay for it. I love that set. I’m fixing to send you an email.
Have a great weekend.
MaryKay
Gorgeous card, love the flower and background coloring, amazing!
This is so pretty and I love the inking on those hexagons too!
Hello Kathy!! Beautiful card as you always produce!!
Hello, sweet lady! Your card is beautiful, as always! I am having a wonderful time with this challenge. It is my first time to participate.
Music to my ears. I’m so happy you are joining in on the fun and having a wonderful time. Keep finding time for you. š
Howdy! š
Beautiful coloring! I love the texture of the hexie tile background.
One day I’ll color like you guys. Right now I can’t even stay within the lines.
Beautiful. I love the background dies. Great look and interest. I have tried to color in my family room in front of my tv. but the light is just not right. I guess I am so use to my craft room lighting that anywhere else just doesn’t work. That is awesome that you can color anywhere. I have been using pencils more and being softer with them and building colors. I like the effect. Thanks for sharing your awesome creations and teaching me what to do to hopefully make my work better.
Hello Kathy! This is so pretty! I love it! Need to give this technique a try, thanks for the inspiration ! Have a wonderful weekend!
Hello, Kathy! Thanks for hosting this great event!
Hello!!! Your coloring always blows me away!!! Always beautiful, unique and inspiring!!!
Oh my gosh, do you know what I thought of when I saw that big flower? A pin! I think I’ve seen a pin that looks like that. It would also make a great hair bow too! See you can do so much with stamps besides make cards.
Hello to you, Kathy! Today I got to color. My 93 year old dad is in the hospital again. He is so thoughtful of us that the day he went in he told my mom “I hate to bother you but I think you’d better call an ambulance because I think I’m having a heart attack.” He said he felt bad off and on all day but he didn’t want to worry or bother us. He had a mild heart attack and they are putting him on blood thinners to shrink the clot. We had to wait in the family waiting room because when they put an IV in him they nicked him and it was bleeding. I brought my coloring book and boy was I glad I did. I got to finish this amazingly huge, detailed picture and showed my dad. He was almost crying when he said it was beautiful. He asked me how long it took to do it and I said a long time. Had I been able to color everyday it wouldn’t have taken as long as it did. I’m sure the scan of it won’t do it justice. I got this Mod Podge stuff that will let me put it on a tee which is what I want to do. I wish my sister would take a picture of it and put it on a purse for me but for some reason she says because it’s on paper she can’t. If you can take a photo of a flower or light house, why can’t you take a photo of my coloring? I don’t get it.
I love, love, love your flower card and the background. Great use of color.
Did I tell you I’m getting a die cutter? Someone on-line that I e-mail every so often who makes tags for e-mail’s and loves to make cards has one that is a hand crank and she can’t use it anymore because she has arthritis. She asked if I had one and when I said no because I couldn’t afford to get one, she offered to give me her’s. When her husband gets paid again she is going to mail it to me and it won’t cost me a thing! God is so good to me and my family! I can’t wait to get it and have fun with it.
I checked out the site you mentioned and I liked somethings on there. I would love to win something from them and thanks for giving us the chance to win something.
Oh yeah, if anyone would like to offer up prayers for my dad, I wouldn’t say no! LOL They would be greatly appreciated.
I send you many prayers for your Dad. I hope he is on the mend. Keep coloring to amaze your Dad. How special he admires your talent.:)
I wish he was on the mend but he’s not doing so good. I trust in God though and I know he will do whatever he has to do for my dad. I’ve been praying and crying and I was even coloring today as what else is there to do but sit on a hard chair and watch TV? I want to make him a card with a heart with a band-aid on it. My dad had a major heart attack they said. He’s on lots of meds and today he had a fever which they are bringing down.
Thank you so much for the prayers. They are much appreciated. I want to continue on with the coloring challenge and I hope that I can. Thank you for all that you do for us.
Hello from Alaska! Fabulous card! I haven’t tried no line coloring… yet!
Hello! This card is beautiful!
Hello, Kathy & helper friends. Such perfect timing for this. I was sitting in a meeting today, wishing I were coloring instead, and came up with the idea to color some of my black & white large design papers I’ve hoarded WITH WARM, NEUTRAL COLORS and see how they’d look as a card inset in a sliced front card. I may even use some inks to swirl on ala distress inks. You convinced me to get on it. Thanks.
Hello! This is a beautiful card! Great job coloring this gorgeous flower!
Hello Kathy! What an absolutely gorgeous card!!!
Hello! Thanks for all you amazing coloring tips!
Stunning card and Hello!!

Hello! Your cards and coloring are just amazing! I learn lot from you, thanks!
Neat look created by inking the dies. Gorgeous detailed colouring!
Your coloring always looks amazing. I wish I could squeeze in more time to color, but the kids always need something or chores hog my time that I want to be crafting. Thanks for doing the coloring challenge and all the hard work that goes into it. I really enjoy your pictures and the time I do squeeze in to color.
Hello! Your card is gorgeous! I’m away at a horsemanship clinic , so minimal coloring for the next ten days. But I did stamp some panels and brought my Copics!
Love the way this turned out! Your coloring is such a sight it’s lovely! I only have a couple copic markers that I mainly use for skin tones but I went ahead and picked up the colorless blender after I watched one of your videos where you used it to “erase” an unwanted mark. It has saved my cards more than once! Thank you for your tips and for sharing your beautiful talent!
Stunning card and coloring Kathy, like how you make such good use of your time. Have a wonderful weekend!
Hello Kathy, love the way you used the haxagon, great colours.

Hi Kathy,
I’ve finally found my crafting mojo (and a little crafting time) again and am so enjoying this challenge š Thank you for being such a wonderful source of inspiration <3
Hello, Kathy! This is my first time to participate in one of your 30 Day Coloring Challenges and it’s been fun! Thanks for all your inspiring coloring techniques and instruction.
Thank you Kathy f for all your great coloring techniques and inspiration! You do such a great job and I want to learn to color like you do. Thanks for the challenge and giveaways and for sharing with us.
What a beautiful card!!
Hello dear Kathy!
As always, your card is AMAZING!!!
The flower is beautiful and I’m sure it took you some time to color… but I gotta tell you I love the background even more! It makes such an impact behind that beautiful focal point and its something we all can do regardless of our coloring prowess š I think that kind of background would make even our less than spectacular colored images shine. And it would be great to layer other die cuts on, like flowers, leaves/vines, trees, or anything really except other geometric shapes. I have to remember to play around with this when I have time to play! Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Love the flower and the elongated hexagons on your card. Very pretty.
Hello, hello, this is so gorgeous!
Hello Kathy!! :o) This is ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!! Love love love the design, colors and your coloring!! LOVE!! :o) Thank you for the opportunity to win Studio Katja’s goodies. Big hugs!! xx

Hello Kathy

Hello and Gorgeous card! This is my first time doing your coloring challenge and I am loving it. I just took advantage of the copic marker sale. First time buying them so wasn’t sure of what colors to get but you calmed my fears. I just bought the colors I liked and will add to my collection as I get better. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talents with us!
Oh my all this at a doctor’s appt., I wish I had patients to do this while waiting. I would have to have a whole bag of stamped pages because I would mess up to much lol.
Fantastic coloring again!!!
Hi Kathy, not sure if my original comment went through. After I clicked Post Comment it went to a screen that said Not Allowed. Boo-hoo, I’m not allowed to post! š However, I want to reiterate how gorgeous your card is and I love how you put together the background!
Hi Kathy! Oh what a pretty card! I could see doing this in so many different colors! š
