When everything was dry I used some glossy accents to glue them down on some green cardstock. (after glueing I pop the panel in a book so it will dry super flat)
The sentiment is from this beautiful stamp set called, “Loving Tulips” & I stamped the large hello with some black ink.
I hope you give this technique a try … it’s fun to try something different and it’s great not to spend a lot of time painting a background. Thanks for your visit today see you tomorrow. Hugs, Kathy
Beautiful watercoloring. I like the idea of laying down the background first. It looks fabulous!
Hi Kathy! Wow, Day 20 already!! Love what you said about the pure joy of coloring!
Love these cards…and the stamp set greeting of “what’s up succa” is hilarious! I would love to see that card when you finish it! Today’s cards are awesome, the purples with the green plants are just perfect! Wow are you good at making stripes. I thought you jsed a stencil! Did you use distress ink to stamp the succulents? They look so crisp!
I recommend that you use Distress Inks, and maybe a stamp positioner, like the Misti (if your worried about it not being super crisp on the first stamping) . I hope you try this technique. Thanks for your sweet comments!!! 🙂
Will try layering down background first method…what a great idea! Happy Colouring
What a wonderful idea and the color combo really works! Card is lovely.
So beautiful Kathy, I love the background you created!
These look so modern and fresh! I’ll have to give this a try. I was trying to use a Molotow pen over the weekend and it kept absorbing into the paper! Argh !
Thats a bummer Bunny. Try using a different type of paper. I have heard that some papers it will work well with and others it will tear and absorb. I do not know which papers are best, however keep trying with whatever you have.
Hi Kathy, Hope you had a wonderful weekend! Mine was pretty relaxing. I love how this card turned out. I have learned so many ways to create with different mediums since watching your videos and reading your blog posts! Thank you for always bringing creative inspiration 🙂 Have yourself a wonderful week! Hugs xxoo
Thank you for your sweel comment, Trina!
WOW, how beautiful and it sounds quite easy. TFS, Kathy!
Such a gorgeous background, Kathy – just love the stripes you brushed on!!
Another example of just how clever you are, my dear! Fabulous job!
Great idea doing the background stripes and then color in the images and using part of that color for your image but changing it up a bit so it’s not background. I have just started making my own background with stamps and love the idea and interest it gives.
These look amazing. It is definitely a sign…. I just picked up this stamp a couple of weeks ago from my local craft store. Can’t wait to give this a try. Thanks for the inspiration.
Awesome, Anne. Have fun playing with it! Love the Power Poppy new release!
Very pretty–thanks for sharing how you created these.
What wonderful cards and I will give this a try. I love the stripes and the green and purple go together so well. Awesome ideas!
What a fun technique! Have a wonderful week, Kathy! Kali evdomada!

Wow! Simply beautiful!!!
Lovely design Kathy , very Springy ❤ .
Thanks for all the tips — masking off a border, using a stamp positioner as you did, the types of inks that would have been your first choice (though these look great to me)…. The finished panel is so soft looking. It’s almost as if you put lightweight vellum over it.
Just beautiful, Kathy! The flowers are gorgeous but it’s the stripes that makes these extra special! I would never have thought to do this – that’s why I come here for inspiration! Thank you!
Love the pattern
My goodness that is such a cool technique!!!! Love the colors too! You always have great ideas to try and I will see if I have a stamp that will work–surely, I do! LOL!
I like the statement that it is more about the coloring and the rest about the card making. I have been coloring but have not posted it because it has been more about ME coloring and less about the whole sharing. It has been relaxing and I know that I can post whatever I create with the image later!! Thank you for all your inspiration!! I LOVE these fun succulents and the watercolor stripes. I need to try making stripes next with watercolor.
Beautiful cards thanks for sharing
Another fun and awesome technique Kathy – thanks so much. I did not know Power Poppy before this edition of the challenge…. I already have a list of stamps I want LOL 🙂
Beautiful!!!
Oh how cute! Thanks so much for sharing the steps to make this card! Love it! 🙂
beautiful card!
and wonderful coloring!
I love these backgrounds! So pretty in watercolor! Great colors too! TFS!
such a pretty card!!
How creative, I wouldn’t think to let the purple run through the flowers and then paint over it. I would painstakingly cut masks or use drawing gum and do the stripes over it! What a great time saver and a lovely way to add more colour into the flowers themselves. So pretty Kathy 🙂
Love this card it looks delicate and light, spring like. Love it. Thanks Kathy, I am getting caught up on your post today and loving every minute of it.
What an amazing change of pace… lovely!
Every single card I see during this challenge is amazing!!! You are amazing, Kathy!
Awe, thank you Rosali! 🙂
So late with leaving comments…. Amazing card and coloring, Kathy. Love how you colored stripes over background…. So cool!!! :o) xx
Beautiful!
Love that it’s a different approach I would never think of it. Also I’d like to thank you for the whole 30 day challenge itself! It has truly been an inspiration to me to try out new technique without an end goal in mind.
Awe, I am so happy yo hear this, Kirsty. 🙂 Thanks for making me smile.
What a fun technique. Thanks.
