Hello Friends, How is your weekend going? Those of you from the US did you have a good Thanksgiving? Everyday of the year I am thankful for you all and feel so blessed.
On another note …
Today Simon Says Stamp is having a blog hop to celebrate “Suzy’s Classical Christmas Watercolor Prints” hot off the press and I am super excited to be part of it. I have always enjoyed watercoloring Suzy’s beautiful illustrations and this Holiday release is guaranteed to get you in the spirit of the season. Yes please!
If you are coming from Suzy’s blog you are in the right place.
I already feel the pressures that the holiday season can bring especially because I am not a planner and feel the pressure to try and take advantage of sales like Black Friday, Cyber Monday and so on. Taking time to do some watercoloring can instantly relax you & bring back the joy of the season.
Speaking of great sales … SSS has been rocking some good ones! Thank You Simon.
Click here if you want to watch my video in HD and thank you for watching.
Adding highlights with colored pencils, a white gel pen and glossy accents can really enhance your watercoloring. Chameleon pencils are what I like to add highlights with if I am watercoloring or when I am using my copic markers.
Can you find the two little nooks that I missed with my dark green colored pencil? I will be adding that when I finish this post lol. This is the permanent fine tip marker I used to outline the image and the greeting.
In a palette I swiped my distress ink to watercolor with and added a squeeze of this for a some holiday shimmer on my watercoloring. Glossy accents were added to the berries and parts of the poinsettias center.
I love how each card is different and unique! Absolutely beautiful! Thank you Suzy for always inspiring me with your illustrations and thanks to Simon for printing them on bright white watercolor paper.
I know this isn’t from the new holiday release but, I wanted to wanted to show you another way to add dimension that I previously watercolored with Suzy’s Fruit Puns .
Don’t be afraid to cut the card and add some foam tape to one area. I have an arrow where I cut the card keeping the greeting in tack.
GIVEAWAY! I have a $30 gift certificate to the Simon Says Stamp Store to giveaway. Winner will be drawn from my blog comments & will be announced on my blog on November 28th. Good luck!
Next on the hop is the talented Kelly Latevola and sweet friend.
Thanks for your visit today and see you soon. Hugs, Kathy

Kathy, I always enjoy watching your coloring videos. They give me the inspiration to try new things. 🙂
Beautiful coloring as usual Kathy!! I too have felt the pressure to shop the sales but didn’t! I have additional pressure because my son & daughter-in-law are expecting their second child on the 11th and I will be spending a few days away from home to visit them! In the meantime I have 11 other grandchildren to buy presents for, plus their parents!! I hope I make it!!
Wow Patty! Congrats on the 12th grandbaby!!
Kathy, your coloring on this card is awesome. Thanks for sharing this and the video on this blog hop.

I knew with your coloring ability that you would create something beautiful…..and I was right! 🙂
Wonderful colors for your poinsettia, Kathy! You always make them look so fresh & new. Thanks for the tip about cutting these card fronts. Live your Friend card!
What a beautiful way to enjoy my Sunday morning!
Beautiful watercolor card. Thanks for the video and tips.
When I first saw your card I thought you may have used multi coloring mediums to create your Beautiful Work of Art. Great Job! Well Done! Will definitely give Distress Inks a Go for watercoloring….have seen Distress Inks swiped on craft mat, spritzed with water to create backgrounds however, this IS a first (my first time) seeing Distress Inks used as actual watercolor to paint images.
This card assortment is lovely—and looks like it would be so much fun to color.
Love your colour choices here, Kathy. Suzy’s prints are so fun and whimsical, but I have never actually tried them myself. I did do some online shopping this weekend, but nothing too crazy. I thought this was a good time to stock up on some more Neenah and other supplies, and yes, also a few stamp sets.

Great coloring and super video.
Hi Kathy, well I have the opposite look at the holidays than you do, no pressure for me, one good thing about not having any family and no friends is there is no pressure to buy gifts, decorate, cook, etc, it’s just another day in the week, so when you are all stressed out, take a moment to remember that and be thankful you are so busy and stressed maybe it will help you sweetie. Anyways, I don’t see any mistake that you said you made, you are always too hard on yourself, you know you are the BEST out there girl, and that is just not my opinion!! This card beside being perfect, is so pretty, I just LOVE LOVE the colors you picked to color with, it came out so beautiful, that picked raspberry with those blues and greens just look so amazing. AWESOME card Kathy, you rocked it.
Your coloring is so gorgeous! I keep trying, but mine never seems to be as beautiful. It’s cheaper than therapy, lol!

Lovely card and coloring. I’m also amazed that when you take a photo it points up every little spot that didn’t get painted, foiled or sparkle. It certainly makes you work harder for results cause the camera is much more discerning than the human eye. Thanks so much for all your hard work. I have benefited greatly.
Kathy, your coloring is gorgeous!!! Always inspuring!!

Kathy – I just love watching someone who knows what they’re doing when it comes to coloring and image! I took an Intro to Coloring class from Colleen Schaan online several years ago, but I still have much to learn, and watching artists like you coloring an image gives me lots of pointer and refinements for my own work. Thanks so much for sharing these fantastic images!
