Hello Friends, I am back home and happy to have a little bit more time to color. How was your weekend?
With that said I wasn’t able to finish tho. These beautiful roses are from Make It Crafty. They are unmounted red rubber but the back of the stamp actually stuck to my misit and it didn’t need any mounting tape. I did color over some of the leaves of the stamp to make it quicker to color… one of the advantages of a dark background.
I really really wanted to color yellow roses but, I am unable to color something soft apparently. Maybe if I had more yellow pencils?
Let’s see if I finish this for tomorrow? Have a good Monday and see you tomorrow. Hugs, Kathy

Looks like you stamped first and then added the the dark back background afterward with your Copic marker – and maybe some of the memento ink – yes? I love the color of yellow you’ve achieved, Kathy. I tried a yellow rose the other day and although it was okay, I would have rather it be more “yellow” similar to what you’ve done.
Kathy Racoosin says
Yes I stamped first, then colored he background with my dark grey Copic marker. I used the rag technique (colorless blender solution on a nubby rag to get texture on the background) and then colored the roses. Thanks for you sweet compliments.

Very pretty Kathy! I’ve been doing just a little coloring, just busy with stuff as usual. I need to make a bunch of Valentine’s cards, but I’m also giving a “lecture” for work–have to prepare a slide show, have handouts and unfortunately have been procrastinating. Of course my presentation is on Valentine’s day. I’m glad you are home and no longer hanging out at the hospital.

I like the dark background and it really makes the yellow pop. Great colors and I have issues using the right yellows. I like seeing what you did.

I am in love with roses. The wife who owned the house before us with her husband was a gardener. We had roses in our yard. Yellow, pink, red and white. They were so beautiful! One year my dad decided they were growing wild. I didn’t think so but okay, if he thinks so. He’s not a gardener or anything so when he cut them back they all died. We don’t have any anymore and I miss them.
Your card reminds me of them. Beautiful and colorful and you know that yellow is my favorite color in the whole wide world. You should google Elizabeth Park in Hartford, CT. It’s the oldest rose gardens in the country. It is so beautiful and colorful and if you go there, you can’t pick the roses but you can take all the fallen rose petals you can carry and laminate them and use them on cards. I did! They have a yellow rose there called The Julia Child rose because it looks like butter and cream. That should give you an idea of how yellow to make your rose.
Your card is beautiful and I can’t wait to see it when it’s finally all done.

Hi Kathy,
How gorgeous the roses are on the dark background.

Catching up the days I missed.
I love how you finished this card with the purple in the yellow, the red I understood, but purple? It looks great; I would never thought of using a colour like that.
Henriëtte says
Oké, I put the wrong comment by this day. This is the first day you made the yellow roses. Blame it on the medication, LOL, The comment belongs by tomorrows post, so I will put it there yet.
