Day 16. Blog Hop Day 2. Plus Giveaway

Hello! How are you? Today is Day 2. of the blog hop and the 16th day of “The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge” If you are new to my blog a warm welcome to you & thank you for your visit. I have assembled a two day hop for you all and there will be giveaways along the way. To check out Day 1. and enter the giveaway click here.

Why a hop you might ask? There are so many awesome stamp companies that I wanted to thank for their support during some or all of the coloring challenges. Today and tomorrows blog hop is a small way to say thank YOU to all these companies. If I forgot your company please email me! 

If you are wondering what The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge is or if you have questions you can refer to this post.  The premise of “The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge” is to color something everyday even if it’s for five minutes. Any medium is welcome & any skill level. 

If you have been on the fence and watching the coloring challenge from the side lines the middle mark is a great time to take the leap, jump in and get your feet wet!  Test the waters! Don’t feel like you are jumping into the middle of the challenge I hope you will think of it as a new beginning.

Flowers yes please! For today’s coloring I inked up three of the Technique Tuesday floral stamps. This is the masking paper that I always use to mask off my images.

For the first day of the coloring challenge I created a really ambitious masked art piece here. Today’s piece is simple and much easier  … It’s fun I promise!

In my post yesterday I mentioned I was out of town … well I arrived home late last night and back out again.  Good thing my markers were already in my bag. As much as I would prefer to be home I can’t complain … maybe just a little lol.

This time I packed my pencils because I find it’s so easy to add accents, details or shading with pencils ON TOP of your markers or watercolors.

*I always say the best pencil is a sharp pencil. (If I packed my sharpener these pencils in the photo would be much sharper.)

All of the companies featured today have their own unique style and if one of these companies is new to you I hope you take the time to explore their blogs and stores to see the variety that they offer.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to finish everything I wanted to color for today . Everything I color takes time as I am sure it does for you too.

LOVE these sentiments from Reverse Confetti and this adorable “Best Friends” stamp set from Studio Katia.

To put the sentiment in the center of the animals I stamped onto the masking paper and cut around the words to create my mask. Then I stamped the animals on top of the masking paper. Remove the masking paper and you are ready to color.

If I could have a flower on every card I think I would …. so you can imagine that I would love this girl stamp called, “Bouquet of Hope” from Trinity Stamps. Adding the “Cherry Blossoms” from Pretty Pink Posh looks cool behind the girl. Love how the Cherry Blossoms are open and wide fantastic for watercoloring!

    Does making a coordinating envelope count as coloring?! My grand girls have their dance recital this afternoon, and I discovered yesterday that I had the colors backwards as to which girl was wearing which costume. I hadn’t written on the cards themselves, but the coordinating envelopes were addressed with the wrong names! That’s about all so far today, but I am counting it as my daily coloring break. PS Did I tell you yesterday that my dad’s name was Tim? Thanks for all you do. I always enjoy the challenge, and your encouragement has meant so much.

    The cards are great!! And while I know the gifts from TIM would be great to have, I am more interested in these great stamp sets from Technique Tuesday and Reverse Confetti. The sentiments in them (including the ones you chose) are wonderful! I especially like the “Wishing you strength for today” statement. My husband and I are both facing tough physical challenges right now. (He was even hospitalized.) The idea of strength really resonated with me.     Kathy,
    As I mentioned yesterday, I have a (severe) concussion and I’m “supposed” to be on “Brain Rest” (meaning no computer, no reading, no TV, no artwork, blah blah blah ). Well, I made it through yesterday’s hop and ended up having a really rough night!
    I am looking forward to today’s hop even though I know I am gonna pay for it, big time! Right now I am light headed & dizzy with blurry vision. I think I need a little nap before heading off to see your wonderful line up of artists & companies!
    A HUGE thank you for doing these challenges as they are fun! I have absolutely no clue how to upload anything which is why I color for me and enjoy seeing the works of others….so inspiring! And I love what you have started with your “in progress” projects!

    Second, the story I like to tell about Tim is that we probably live 20-25 minutes from each other. I used to go to Ben Franklin ‘s when he worked there and also Mario’s (delicious pizza!), but of course I didn’t know he was “T!M” yet (and I am not sure he did either =) l
