Hello Friends! It’s Day 2. of the coloring challenge which brings a big blog hop and giveaways!! Woo Hoo! I have assembled everyone & every company that has been a part of “The Coloring Challenge Road Trip” so far to celebrate the 10th “The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge”. Not only am I super excited but, really grateful because I know how busy everyone is and it really means a lot to me to have their support. #supergrateful!
If you are new to the coloring challenge a warm welcome to you and if you are asking yourself … “what the heck is the coloring challenge” or if you have any questions about the coloring challenge you can refer to this post . If you are more visual person here is a video. To see DAY 1 of the coloring challenge click here. If you want more info on The Coloring Challenge Road Trip click here.
One thing I have found heard from you all during the coloring challenges is that many of you enjoy having “permission” not to make a card but, to color just for the love of coloring. Life gets in the way a-lot and my motto is to try and find that magical 10 minutes a day for you to decompress and destress. So with that said one has to practice what they preach right? These challenge are authentic for me and I don’t work ahead so can you imagine that I am hosting this blog hop and I only have three things colored! EEKKKK!
For today’s post I am focusing on creating a unique art piece that will be frame worthy. I will be honest this takes time but, it will be worth it. So instead of coloring an entire project I will be coloring a few things and this is something I encourage you to try during the challenge. When you only have 10 minutes you might be able to color one petal or one flower but, that is better than nothing!
I spent a well over an hour just stamping my project using five different companies and I feel like that’s a great accomplishment. In my post for Day 1. I talked about creating some art pieces during these next 30 days so I thought I would share a way to use all of those beautiful stamps that we collect. Mix them up and stamp different companies together. You will have such a unique piece that will be beautiful colored in time lol. Watch my video in HD here.
If you stamped a bunch of images ahead of time that’s awesome and kudos to you. After those are colored maybe you will rip a page out of a coloring book or stamp something to frame for your wall.
The fruit in this arrangement gives it some extra pizzaz and the butterflies make everything better and flowers … always flowers!
I hope that you think my project is blog hop worthy lol. The time was put in and it took hours but, right now it’s the subtle things that don’t wow you. Just wait until you see what everyone else is doing for the hop I know they will knock your socks off.
In the video you can watch how this evolved. As I remove the masking paper of each individual flower I added some color with my markers so it’s easy to distinguish later whats a leaf or petal or background. This isn’t necessary but, saves you time in the long run. I started with 110lb. neenah 8.5 x 11 and stamped everything with Memento. After stamping I trimmed this down to 8 x 9 . There was no plan and I was just flying with it hoping all the stamps would look good together. Tim Holtz stamp platform made this possible and with ease. I purchased the travel one but, now I see the value with the larger one. Stamps used to create this were Gina K. Designs, (this and this) , Mama Elephant, Simon Says Stamp, WPlus9 and Honey Bee stamps. Whew!
GIVEAWAY !! I have three prize packages to giveaway today.(see the bottom of this post for larger detailed photos). To qualify … Please tell me in the comment area if you might try something like this. Winners will be announced on the Sunday the 10th. Good luck!
Check the individual blogs in the hop to see what they might be giving away.

Sally Sherfield says
Your piece of art is amazing Kathy but I don’t think I am up to that yet, need to keep it simple to start with lol!!
E Nelson says
Wow, you have made some gorgeous art by mixing sets! I have done that on a smaller scale; adding leaves, a background or small elements from one set to another, but this is really a wonderful new design idea.
Helen S says
I love your stamping!! I have a MISTI, but I don’t use it that much. Trying something like this would be a good use for it.
Kathy Racoosin says
Yes Helen, this would be great to try in your Misti! Happy stamping!
Debbie Rumpza says
I definitely would try to create a piece of art… I have thought about it before but not done it yet. I have some floral sets that I really adore. Love the idea of mixing sets too!
The Crafty Den says
Wow what an amazing piece of art you’re creating. I feel a little too intimidated to try something on that scale at the moment. I am only just starting to colour again after a very long break. I’m happy with my small images so far and will enjoy colouring them over the 30 days. I would like to tackle a project like yours when I’m more practised. Thanks for another day of inspiration <3
Kathy Racoosin says
Small images are perfect for this challenge! Happy coloring!
Jackie S says
You make it all look so easy. I’m off to give it a try.
Kathy Racoosin says
Whooo hoooo Jackie! Love that attitude! Happy stamping!
Shari Lawrence says
Coloring is so relaxing…masking is my downfall 🙁
Kathy Racoosin says
Practice makes perfect!!
Reva says
I like the idea of creating a larger piece and giving yourself permission to not finish in one sitting. So often we force ourselves to get it done when a step back and a pause may be just the thing. Planning for that at the beginning of a project is such a liberating idea!
Debbie says
I’ve been starting projects like this, its relaxing
Gabi says
Again, this is going to be incredible. What a great idea to mix up the stamp sets, and get more use from the stamps. I also love how you just do your own thing with the colouring yet it all works! I have already completed my card for today but I will be looking through my stamps tomorrow to see what I can use together! Roll on Day 3!
Kathy Racoosin says
Awe thanks so so so much Gabi!
Jenny Colacicco says
Wow Kathy this is really remarkable! For a 30day last year I colored a large Digi image of dogwoods by Powerpoppy and I had to frame it I was so pleased. I’ve really thought about doing another ‘frameworthy’ piece and the time and effort to actually create my own image from smaller stamps like you have here looks really worth it!! Thank you for the inspiration and as always the challenge. Jenny
Kathy Racoosin says
Awe – yay Jenny! I lie that you framed your work!!! Happy coloring and thanks for playing along with another challenge!
Carol H. says
I need to try something like this! I have 3 of the 6 sets you used. Looking forward to watching your video!
SMayer says
While I like using different sets on cards, I’m not talented enough to mix and match for a background like you created. Wow!
Kari S says
I prefer the tiny “canvas” of cards, but I might give something bigger a try! I love watching the videos, I learn so much. Thank you!
Wanda Radler says
Wow – that is a beautiful page! I have lots of stamps from different companies too and this is exactly what I plan to do all summer. Great idea to make them into framed works of art. I will combine two of my favorite crafts stamping and coloring. Thanks for the inspiration and the chance for a wonderful prize too!!
Kathy Racoosin says
Awesome, Wanda! Happy coloring!
E Booij says
Love your coloring.
Janet D. says
I have always loved mixing stamp sets and creating something unique! This is gorgeous. Not sure I am ready for this yet, but I will strive for it.
Deann says
What a great idea! Mixing the fruit in with the florals. Beautiful.
Natasha Trupp says
I am blown away by this project and am so excited to see the end result! I think I would try something like this. It’s really fun combining so many images, and arranging them like a wreath wouldn’t have crossed my mind, but I love that idea!
Kathy Racoosin says
Thanks so much natasha!
Beverly Jordan says
Wow!! You inspire me to go further!! This is stunning!!!
Lindarub says
Might have to try this just not sure how you decide where to put everything.
Rowena M. says
WOW Kathy!! This is amazing!! Definitely will give it a try;) you are such an inspiration and always so encouraging!! Your creations are a work of art. Thank you!!!
Genevieve says
WoW this is a lot of fantastic work !!! I don’t mind masking a lot to create scenes, I usually do multiple copies since everything is in place and thanks to the miraculous misti it’s a breeze ! But I don’t usually mix companies and it’s also on a card size scale …
Chris S. says
This piece is going to be gorgeous when you are done. I might have to try this. It would be fun to watercolor.
Brandy Duncan says
Wow Kathy. I love how you combined so many different companies’ products. I might try something like this maybe on a smaller scale with small images.
Sesil says
Wow! I would love to try this one day. But for now I have to keep it simple.
joy meadows says
This is a beautiful piece you have created, Kathy! I don’t think I can manage to make something that grand, but I can’t wait to see the end result. Thanks for the inspiration.
Melanie Muenchinger says
Thanks, Kathy, for using my mountain laurel in this lovely piece of art. Your stamping and coloring is gorgeous.
Kathy Racoosin says
Awe thanks so much Melanie! I love all your gorgeous florals for Gina!
Sladjana Perisic says
I’m a huge fan of one layer scene cards and have done a few myself, but never something this intricate. Thanks for sharing, it’s very inspiring.
Katrina Howe says
This is beautiful Kathy. I would never have thought of stamping like this. I will definitely be giving it a go. Thanks for the inspiration.
kim kimmel says
Wow Kathy, you are really doing an amazing job!!! I am so grateful for this challenge. It is giving me the motivation I need to get back into my crafts!!! It’s been too long away from it!!
Kathy Racoosin says
Awe yay Kim! I love hearing that! Happy coloring and crafting!
Alexandra says
This is beautiful. I may try something like it closer to the end of the challenge. Have get through the end of school year chaos first.
Denise says
Kathy, your stamped piece is beautiful! I have masked, on a much smaller level, before. I love the idea of the fruit and flowers together plus utilizing multiple stamps is a great way to use our stash in a different way. TYFS.
Sharri Niehus Reeves says
Yes, I would like to make something, maybe not quite as detailed as yours. Love this challenge. I’m off to stamp something so I can color later.
cyndi morris says
I would love to create an art piece, and you’ve given me inspiration. The idea of combining products is intriguing. I love coloring and I’m trying to get better at it. I have a few sets of Tombow markers and I’m enjoying them, particularly on Bristol paper, but I’ve never been able to justify the investment in Copics. Next step – watercoloring. I really want to get better at that.
Kathy Racoosin says
You definitely could do this with other markers – like your Tombows! I just have the Copics so I’m using them! Happy coloring!
Andrea Hastilow says
WOW, if love to try a project like this, I will try during these 30 days but it will not look anywhere near as good as that, you are aware of that aren’t you. Well looks like I’m off to sort through my little stash to see what I can offer. I hope everyone has a huge buzz out of these 30 days, trying new bits or just being able to use the line of ” …but it’s the 30 colour challenge and Kathy said on her video that ……. ” like I’ve used today. Thanks to all on the hop I’m off to explore c
Boryana says
Gorgeous as always!
Meghan Kennihan says
WOW! The way you did the pear… just WoW! I would love to try some of these techniques… I don’t have all the supplies but will if I win the giveaway! Crossing my fingers! Thanks again!
Sandhya Iyer says
Wow! Love the way the stamps come together as one! I jave anlong way to go, but will surely try this…some day. Or maybe sooner.
Lindar C says
Very helpful tips, adding just bits of color and using the masks. Sometimes I can’t tell what is what on an image and this will definitely help. I would try this on a smaller scale.
Di Wong says
I’d try this but with less detail than you’ve done! Yours is wonderful but looks too difficult for me. Thanks for the tip about coloring the image before removing all of the masking. Seems like that would really help to keep track of where one ends and the next begins.
Sharon O says
These fruit and floral wreaths reminded me of Della Robbia Wreaths which I’ve always loved but never thought to create and color myself. Thanks for the permission to design my own ‘work of heart!’
Katie Ingram says
Just watching you and listening to you just inspires me to color! You make it seem so easy!! I love to color and always have…i remember my dad used to color too! Thanks for always inspiring us!
jen forster says
So inspiring! Love to see such creativity
susie sonnier says
This is a lot of work. I’m not sure I would try it but your piece turned out lovely
Renee Drew says
This looks like lots of fun! My muse seems to have taken a vacation or something. She could have at least sent me a postcard. I have been ordering some new stuff, which is starting to arrive. That, along with this hop, may be the inspiration that I need.
Karen says
What you are working on is gorgeous! I sometimes feel like my ability comes and goes, I would be afraid to not color it all at once in case I changed how I colored or something!
sandym says
Kathy, what an incredible job you did masking and layering all these images! It’s a wow piece, for sure. I’d love to try to make a home decor piece someday, too. Thanks for the inspiration and your very generous giveaways!
Tam says
This is my first time following the 30 day Coloring Challenge. Looking forward to a month of inspiration. Thank you!
Carolyn R says
This is gorgeous! What a great idea. I am definitely adding this to my “someday I will try this” list!
Alexandra Provence says
I would try something like this, just on a way smaller scale.
Daria says
This is already becoming beautiful. I love the combination of fruit and flowers. I don’t think I’m up to doing something this elaborate, but I can see myself combing a few stamps in order to come up with something new and different. Thank you for the challenge, the hop, and today’s video.
Kaily says
Gorgeous! I will totally be trying!
Michele F says
Yes, Kathy, I just might try this! I’m still dreaming of those dreamy tropical leaves!
=]
Kelsey Thomas says
This is beautiful and would make fantastic art work to put up on a wall! I think I will have to try it! 🙂 Thank you for the wonderful inspiration!
Lisa K says
I would love to try something like this, but am not sure I am up to it. I will think on it and maybe plan.
JillT says
From a “not a colorer” I’m giving your challenge a try this year in one of the busiest months of my life. So won’t be trying a big project now. This is just for play, trying new things, and stress relief
Barbara Lassiter says
I created an art journal page, I liked so well, that I framed it in a small frame I had. I’ve been thinking I should created something in watercolor or colored pencil and do the same. You’ve probably inspired me to get started ’cause it looks like so much fun!
Carol Didier says
You are blowing me away, girl! I’m not sure if I’m ready for such a stamping extravaganza yet, but you sure make it tempting, I would definitely want a Tim Holtz stamping platform first… Btw, your fruit makes me hungry.
Phyllis Freese says
Beautiful! I enjoy coloring, but the idea of mixing up stamp sets is one area I need to work on. Thanks for challenging us to color for the month of June.
MelissaF says
Your floral wreath is stunning, and makes all the masking soooo worth it! I love the idea of working on one or a few coloring pieces rather than a whole project. I plan to color up the Mega Succulent from Altenew (thank YOU for the videos on that one!) and a page of stamped flowers that have been sitting around my craft room begging for color. Thanks for the generous giveaway and these fabulous color challenges for so much inspiration.
Kailash says
This project is definitely worthy of an art piece. If I really put my mind to it I could possibly try but at this stage, I have to do one step at a time. Thanks for the inspiration though!
Leslie Larkin says
Wow! This is beautiful. I love the idea of mixing fruit with the flowers.
I’ll keep this idea and try it.
Alma Dirpaul says
I am going to pull out my Zig brush markers and color some small printed note cards that were gifted to me. Thanks for the challenge.
Angie B says
I am in awe!!! All that mixing and masking! wow! You have truly created a remarkable piece. Thanks so much for inspiring us! I would like to make an art piece. I create cards mostly but I like the idea of doing some wall art!
Terry B. says
Double Whew! LOL I don’t think I’m for the challenge of doing what you did!
Thanks for the chance to win!
Teresa DeWitt-Pierce says
I probably will try a project like this for this challenge but on a smaller scale. I can hardly wait to watch you transform this completely and am very excited to play along in the challenge.
Jeanne Boardman says
Love your art work! I have been wanting to create, play in an art journal but have always thought I didn’t have the creativity for it. But this, now this idea is a great kick start!
Kristina M. says
I would try to create a piece of art. I’m not sure how successful I would be, but I would try! Thanks for the chance to win these awesome prizes. Love your art from the past two days, I can’t wait to see what else you create.
Chris D. says
Love your piece! What a great mix!
I love to mix and match! Great idea for today! I’ll get started!
Evelyn B says
Love the fact that you suggested we just color for 10 minutes a day. I don’t know if I can because once I start I find it is hard to stop. I just made a card for a dear old friend today and I had done some coloring of an old barn. So I used it and was so pleased that it was lying there waiting for me to make something special with it for a special person. Thanks for the encouragement that you give us. I do like to be able to color whenever so doing something on the go really appeals to me. Love all the art work that you do and the time that you take to show us great ideas!
Pam says
That piece is absolutely stunning!
Lisa says
Wow Kathy! That is absolutely beautiful! I love the fruit added into the floral wreath! Can’t wait to see this evolve! I love watching your videos, I always learn something from them! As always, thank you for the great inspiration!
Naama E says
Love this idea! I think it’s actually great if you’re busy because you just do what you can each day and still have a sense of accomplishment even if you added one leaf. It’ll probably take me a few days to choose which stamps to use (I’m decisive that way XD) but definitely up for the challenge 🙂
Thanks for all this! xx
Melissa Craig says
Well I missed day 1 but I played this morning. I added to Instagram. Those sure are some lovely prizes!
Barb Schmidt says
I love this idea… And will definitely try it. These challenges are so much fun and the giveaways are always awesome…..
Rosali says
Amazing intense coloring again! I will try to make a background like this! Thanks for everything, Kathy!!
Alyce says
Beautiful! I enjoy masking, but I don’t know that I would do a piece this large. Thanks for the inspiration.
Tina Ricaurte says
Thank you for sharing your coloring skills with us! I color my stamped images and then don’t mind fussy cutting them out. I work on a much smaller scale than you do but you encourage me to try something larger 🙂
MBFairySky says
I love this technique, and all these flowers it balm to the heart!
Thank you for all this sharing Kathy, I file coloring for this second day as soon as I finish going around everyone 🙂
Ericka Strange says
Wow what an amazing piece of art! I love all the variety of the stamps you used. I’ve never thought about trying this but will definitely give it a shot as I love the look and what a beautiful way to decorate. Thanks for hosting such a fun challenge. I love the stress relief that coloring provides and this is the perfect way to start out summer. I’ve scheduled in coloring time into the kid’s and my summer itin. Thanks for the chance to win!
Peg C says
I am so inspired. I want to do this. I love it and want to make one to frame for my home. This is not today’s project, but I can get started by getting out my flower stamps ( I love flowers) and taking inventory. Thanks for the tip of coloring as you remove the masks. That is great and I wouldn’t have thought about it but it sure will make life easier. Until tomorrow…
Caron B says
Wow!! Not only are you an amazing artist, you are an amazing person too. This is my first year joining in with the colouring challange. Think I would like to try this adea on a smaller scale that way I can just enjoy and not feel overwhelmed. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this challange.
Megan N says
Wowza! It’s like magic as the masks come off. I may try to work up to something like this… but for now, I’m starting with smaller individual images 🙂
Peggy Pride says
Trying to use stamps from my many stamp sets is goal I have had for a long time. Now, it is time to try it!
Pooja says
Wow.. interesting to see lot many stamps combined together to create a wreath like arrangement !I have never combined flowers n leaves from different sets yet have to look at them again 😉 Art piece ..I don’t think will color for it I am happy to color for my cards currently!
Peggy M says
I would love to try this technique and think it’s a great way to use various stamp sets together as you did. Thank you for sharing!
Amy Cooley says
This is a wonderful idea! I should take the time to create just for me and to decorate my own home.
Bobbie Weaver says
Thanks for turning me onto Marcella – Power Poppy, her art is as awesome as your coloring techniques. I love your videos!
MJ says
The masking alone was amazing! It is beautiful so far, I can’t wait to see it done. This is a great idea for the grandkids because they don’t always want to do a card. Thank you for the inspiration.
Annette Bridges says
Masking can be a challenge in itself. Nice to know that you can fudge a little by not cutting everything out. This was absolutely beautiful coming together as it did. I need to start on a much smaller scale though since I am so new to this but I am going to try! Thanks for all your instructions and inspiration.
BJ says
Wow, like so many others, I am in awe. I never thought of taking so many stamp sets and making such a big collage. Maybe this will help me look at my stamp sets differently. Shading is my struggle – I get so intimidated by it but I like that you don’t worry about where the light is coming from – it takes off some of the pressure.
Charlotte Deerborn says
Love your creation, but I am afraid that is still too much of a reach for me. I will just work on a card.
Marcia says
My dear YOU are worthy!! You are wow. . . wow-wee . . . wowzer. You always amaze and wow me. . . yes this is beyond blog-worthy. It’s blog wow-wee!!
Lucy E. says
Your art piece is so lovely and I appreciate your video, because I am a little afraid of masking. It looks intimidating and time consuming to me. However, I would love to try making something like this, on a smaller scale.
Marie Maksud says
At this moment I prefer to follow with my little pieces of stamps because my tecnic is very basic !! But in the future I think it is a great idea to mix stamps ansd have a beautiful cardl like your.
Sarah says
I definitely want to do some art pieces; I’ve done some larger digi stamps before but never really set out to colour something with the intention of framing it. I do worry that Copics aren’t lightfast though – I wonder how long a Copic work would survive exposed to light all the time…
Mary-Anne V. says
Honestly even with your great encouragement to colour I think I need some more practice before trying something like it. But thanks for a wonderful and pretty inspirational piece to use a reference!
Sue Rose says
OMGoodness! I can’t wait to see the finished panel. It looks awesome!
Melanie Eisenhut says
I love mixing stamp sets and creating something unique! Your work is amazing. Not sure I am ready for this yet, but may try something a little easier and smaller. Thank you for the challenge and the inspiration!
Kristen Mcmillan says
I love the idea of stamping from different companies. It does give a unique look. Each company has a different look to their stamps made by different artists. Putting them all together will make some stamps stand out more than others, some stamps will look better in the background and others up front and center. I like the idea and I will be trying it. Thanks for the idea and giveaways.
Mirella Rogan says
Holy moly, Kathy, this looks simply amazing, and I love how you combined so many different stamp sets and brands in this one piece – makes it even more special! I would love to try something like this myself, but for now I’ll need to hold off for a while, as I have loads of cards and smaller projects to work on. But, once I’m a bit more free, I’ll need to remember this post of yours, and see where it can take me! Masking is so magical 🙂
Thank you for everything you do for this crafty community, we love you!
Super Stick Chick says
Great video and wonder project. I am always up for trying new techniques!
Chris Handy says
Love your art piece. Looking forward to see your progress. Gorgeous
Jessica Francisco says
A little intimidated, but I’d love to try it some day! ❤️
Melanie E says
I love mixing stamp sets and creating something unique! Your work is amazing. Not sure I am ready for this yet, but may try something a little easier and smaller. Thank you for the challenge and the inspiration!
Katie B. says
Beautiful work! Truthfully I have only done masking in classes, not on my own. But it is a great idea to create something simple or complex. I don’t own a MISTI yet either, and need to read a comparison between it and the Tim Holtz stamping platform, because it would be nice to have. Thanks for sharing,
Katie B.
Paulette Habbit says
What a beautiful card. I am going to look at combining my stamp a in different ways as a result of your post. Thanks so much.
Pia Larsen says
I would love to try out colour pencils and learn how to work with them. I see talented crafters make masterpiece after masterpiece. And thank you for yet another challenge, it truly inspires me to do some drawing or colouring.
Shannon Fralish says
Oooh, your work is amazing and, yes, I would try mixing stamp company images to create something “new”. Love your idea of “pre-coloring” parts of images so I don’t overlook them later — great idea!
Deb M. says
I love what you have made, I’m not that great at arranging clusters I don’t think, but yes I think it’s something I would like to try sometime. I could use a few more wall hangings in my stairway if nothing else! :-))
Connie Myers says
Wow! Can’t wait to see how this turns out I am so totally trying this. I love to combine images and dies from different stamp companies. There are so many wonderful options available.
Anne Lewis says
Hi Kathy. My first thought was ” I can’t do that ” but after watching your video I have decided to give it a try. I have a lot of different stamps that might work together. I will practice to see what I like and maybe show it off to you down the line. Thanks for the info and your helpful knowledge . You amaze me.
Lisa Shireman says
I think i will try this! I am on vacation from the 6th through the 11th on the beach at St. Simon’s Island in Georgia. I will have plenty of coloring time, so I need to get out my stamps and masking paper!
Julie G-G says
WOW! 10 years! Congrats!
This is going to be my first year – I’m looking forward to giving this challenge a try!
Angela Myhre says
You make me want to color pears! Yours looks so real!!!! Love your coloring ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Deepa says
Such a great idea Kathy! I would definitely do this and have been wanting something framed like this for my craft room. It’s detailed and intricate but well worth the time to get that final product! Thanks for the inspiration!
Michelle Darde says
Definitely not in these 30 days, but i’d Love to challenge myself with that someday!
Patt H. says
What a lovely art piece, Kathy! I don’t think my coloring abilities are up to this level yet but I do love coloring cards. I make & mail about 150 cards each year so do a lot of coloring. I need to branch
out & learn how to add more shading & layering in my coloring.
Kerry myers says
I love the idea of mixing stamp sets. I’ve done maybe one sentiment from another set but I think it would be fun to mix the whole scene!
BILLIE SUE WOOLLEY says
I am learning so much from your videos and blog. The wreath is gorgeous. I didn’t think I would participate, but I am coloring a bit every day! Thanks for the inspiration.
Gabriella B says
Yup, I am definitely in and love trying new things like this.
Shari M says
Love your combining of several stamp sets into one fantastic project. I have tried using different stamp sets before and will definitely attempt it again as the results can be spectacular.
Cynthia Cole says
Yes I may just try something like this and love how you combined stamps from multiple companies. I will definitely remember it’s ok to just color in the time I have and not worry about finishing a card in one day. Especially after just going crazy for the past eight days on the coffee lovers bloghop. I worked real hard on all those projects and my body is saying…..hey chickie slow down….. Also, what a great giveaway to three lucky people.
Kirsty Vittetoe says
What a sweet creation. I LOVE your coloring work! I am still a beginner at coloring, it would probably going to take me a while to try something this scale, but I am taking one baby step at a time. You are an inspiration!
Nancy Stott says
What a beautiful piece you are creating! I love masking – and the magic when you remove the mask. I think I will try something like this, but on a much smaller and simpler scale. Your piece is way beyond my skill level and it is so much fun to watch your process and your coloring. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Marianne says
Wow, that looks amazing, Kathy … and daunting …
I think I will stick to growing confidence using single images … and finally get started on the monthly Kit and Clowder pencil classes before attempting intricate pieces of art like yours. Cannot wait to see the inspiration along the hop … and yes, I would love to win any of these awesome prizes.

LaNell Taylor says
What a great and challenging idea! Appreciate you sharing your talents with us.
Sue Hannegan says
What a great idea. I have several of these stamps sets you used am going to try my hand at this technique with the masking. Never crossed my mind to use fruit in with the flowers. Thanks for the inspiration.
Suzanne says
What a beautiful picture! I always thought it would be so much fun to take a large poster board and stamp lots of the Lawn Fawn stamps creating a “Lawn Fawn World” since they have so many great scene building sets. I think it would look so cool in my craft room! Thank you for the inspiration!
Deborah Koehler-Whitehead says
I think I might try your technique. Coloring just a piece should make that piece “pop”!
Sheri K says
Another gorgeous piece of art Kathy! Love it! I do hope to do some of that creating fun art pieces for my home. I also enjoy doing coloring book coloring once in a while, takes many days to do one page but at least I do it! I just finished a Kaiser color card–found them on clearance and purchased all they had. The color lines are very fine and detailed, I’m send my brother one for his Birthday and started working on a bicycle theme card for my sis’s retirement. Because of the great detail, I’m using colored ink pens and wearing stronger reading glasses. Your coloring challenges are terrific!
Stef Perry says
Love, love, love this beautiful scene you created and the hints about covering up mistakes and coloring to achieve texture. So beautiful! Yes I am definitely inspired to try something like this!
Jennifer Meister says
You are very inspiring to watch and I am up to trying something new. I love how you make it look so easy and love how you have the markers make the texture in the picture! Thank you so much for sharing
Patti Painter says
Happy 10th! Your art is fabulous. I love masking and you have really pushed it over the top. I especially love the addition of fruits, I never would have thought of that. Looking forward to the rest of the month. Thanks for the chance to win a prize, here’s hoping you have a great day!
Joyce Erb says
I am gong to try it. I aam helping my granddaughter who is 6. In fact she asks me to post her work even when no challenge LOL. She loves the challenges. Been working on her scene.
Linnea Sundstrom says
for sure! it could be any size, really
Henriëtte says
I am still working on an image but as soon as it is ready and I have made a card for my niece, I will definitely see if I can create something like this with my stamps. Your tips and colouring are awesome, can’t wait to see more! Thank you and see you tomorrow.
Joyce says
It’s beautiful! I love coloring just to color and I certainly would frame a piece I loved. What awesome prizes. And just day 2 and I’m enabled! Love those flowers!
Margaret says
Your art is amazing! Just looking at that pear – I swear, you could take a biet out of it! I’ve just recently gotten into coloring – doing a lot with colored pencils, distress oxide inks, and watercolor brushes. Getting a little better all the time!
Patty Eifert says
Oh Wow!! Amazing combination of different stamp companies! I have to be honest…I don’t think I have the patience to make & color such a large creation as this plus I’m not that great a colorer! However, you do an awesome job of it!! Your shading & highlighting and color combinations are always fantastic! I do love coloring smaller objects on greeting cards….it is truly relaxing & fun. I don’t do a lot of masking, but when I do it is so much fun to unmask & reveal the finished stamping!! Looks like an amazing set of prizes you have to offer! Thanks so much for a chance to win!
Sue McRae says
That is going to be one amazing piece of art. I would not try something like this right now as my coloring skills are very basic but when I improve enough, it would be fun to give it a go!
Marj B says
I love your coloring challenge. It makes me color more and practice how to blend and use differrent mediums. I participated last year but was not able to finish the entire challenge. Then you had another one last January of this year and promise myself i will participate for the whole challenge but something came up. I will try to color different kinds of things to improve my coloring skills. You really inspire me so much with all your techniques and skills. Thank you for the chance and will tag you everyday with all my work for the challenge. Thank you again for everything you do!
Kathleen Dickson says
I love this new idea of creating art with multiple stamp sets! I would have never have thought of this, but after watching your video I’m itching to try it out! Thank you! ☺
Teri W says
Love love love the arrangement, but this is waaaay out of my wheelhouse ☺️. I need more practice!
Alicia says
What a beautiful piece! I wouldn’t know where to begin to mix and match so many different stamps add artfully as you have done here.
Laura palmer says
This is a wonderful technique, but i Would have to start much more simple. Looks fantastic!
Mary Moisan says
I’m not afraid to combine products from different brands, I do it sometimes in smaller scale for cards. I love the approach you are taking of creating something bigger in scale w/the challenge. Time to play with stamps tonight. 🙂 ps… the colored apple looks so REAL… it’s like I can feel the skin’s texture by just looking at the photo.
Dee Earnshaw says
Love the arty effect you managed to get with your card – thanks for the ideas:)
Leila Larson says
I would try this technique but instead of fruit I’d put in critters.
Mitzi says
I do mix stamp sets, but mostly on cards. I have done a couple 3D things on 5×7 canvases and that was with coloring then cutting out images. I am really trying to get better at watercoloring and would LOVE to win one of your giveaways. Thanks for offering a chance at them.
Isabelle says
Your creation is really beautiful ! It’s really great to mix stamps from various designers. Thank you for the inspiration.
Congratulation for the great success of your Coloring Challenges ! I’m sure this 10th version will be as successful as the 9 first challenges. And in addition, you give us the chance to win great prices !
I don’t feel confortable enough to really participate to a challenge like yours, but I’m working everyday to improve my coloring techniques. So I hope I will be able very soon to participate to a futur Coloring Challenge of yours !
Katya says
Kathy,
You are, as ever, an inspiration! I think working on one big piece is a really great idea and I might do that too. I am trying to catch up with my two missed days, so tomorrow – definitely going to try this out. I love how you mixed things up and agree that the fruit and butterflies just look beautiful. Can’t wait to see the finished piece. 🙂
Carol Love says
What an amazing composition you made. It’s very advanced for me so I would try something on a smaller scale. It’s great to hop along with other companies to see how their designers are taking on the challenge.
Irene Royster says
That’s such a great idea, I’m a crafting newbie so I don’t have anything stashed but I would definitely try this if I did. Maybe further along when I get a big collection. For now I have to just draw things by hand or use coloring books
Terri Tran says
Congratulations on your 10th year! This is so exciting! This is my first year participating, as I recently discovered the love for crafting all things! It’s so therapeutic especially with little ones running around. I am somewhat addicted now haha. I would love to try this technique with different types stamps.
Dina Carroll says
I would love to try and color in the background as you did in the video.
Candy says
Wow, Kathy! This piece is going to be awesome!!!
Love that you have combined companies – what a fantastic idea :o)
I don’t know how well I would do with a piece like this, but sure would
love to try it.
Thank you very much for all of your very helpful tips!
Teresa Doyle says
I AM trying this! LOL I cannot believe that what you are doing today, is what I have been working at for the past few days! (I am SO challenged when it comes to actual ‘colour theory’ and “what colour to put with what colour”so I have decided to “just play” with my stuff and see what happens) and now you are showing this video TODAY! Awesome! I will keep pushing on to see what happens. Thanks Kathy for the excuse to play and have some fun!
Amy Reagan says
Stunning! I’m very new to copic coloring and can’t wait to try your techniques! Thank you for your time and sharing your talent!
Christy Q says
Wow, Kathy!! This is just amazing and definitely frame-worthy! I love this idea and it is something that is so you. I think I may try something like this, but on a smaller scale so I can become confident in my skills. Love how you combined all the different companies. Thank you for organizing the hop – can’t wait to see what the other designers do!
@cardhappyone says
I haven’t tried masking yet…so I probably need to do that first. But would love to make frame worthy art for my craft room…baby steps and I’ll get there!
Dawn Skene says
This is a great idea and a beautiful example that you have given us. I sometimes use more than one stamp set from the same company, but I don’t think about mixing stamp companies. I will have to give this a try!
Nandini Karmarkar says
The piece you are working on is beautiful. Can’t wait to see the whole thing done. On a different note, I am glad that making a card is not mandatory. I will probably start by coloring pages from a coloring book and then convert those into cards at some point.
Beatrix Revhelyi says
Yes, I would try this. My art would be not so perfect as yours, yet, but I would like to try it!
Loly Borda says
I would love to create something frame worthy! Although I have to go long ways to achieve it, I’m determined to give it a try! Thanks for the awesome inspiration and your encouragement!
Wendi J says
Wow! Really nice work. Don’t think I am up to this right now maybe later. I have my images all ready stamped out and ready to go.
Barbara Walborn says
Absolutely fantastic!
Judy says
Your coloring is amazing! I don’t feel my coloring is good enough to be the focal point of an art piece but I am up for the challenge of practicing my coloring.
Arlene Waddell says
Incredible! I don’t think I’m ready to attempt to create a work of art like yours, Kathy, but I am inspired to try more masking! I like how you left some white space as that is also something I struggle with!
Michelle Hackett says
My goodness, you have such a creative eye. This is stunning, and you haven’t even really started it yet. I can’t wait to see the finished piece. I love your challenge. This is my third year participating.
Michelle Hackett says
As far as trying this? I don’t think I’m quite ready for that complicated of a piece.
Karen Page says
Like wow!!!! That is amazing!!! And I can totally believe it took an hour or more to stamp and mask all of that! No Kathy, I don’t think I’ll be going for a masked work of art… I recently attempted a masked scene and after 6 failed attempts I realized I was trying something too complicated for my first go. I will possibly frame something from this challenge though as I hope to produce a no-line stamped painting worthy of a frame 😉
Marsha Guskey says
Your project is gorgeous! Off to start my own coloring project. Thanks!
Jane bell says
Absolutely beautiful. I am intimidated with Copic markers, so I will give this a try with the real brush markers. Thank you so much.
FeM says
I don’t think I’ll be stamping like you did since I’m limited in the stamp department. But my crew here have chosen a page from a coloring book to color throughout the challenge (if they don’t feel like stamping some images). I think I’ll buy frames to encourage them to color that page (or they can pick something they’ve colored during the challenge). Thanks for the idea. Have a nice weekend.
Wilma says
I love the wreath you created! To be honest I still feel intimidated by such a large coloring-project – I wouldn’t want to ruin it… But hey, that’s what this challenge is about: Get out of your comfort zone! I might just try it for the challenge 😉
Karen Richardson says
Why not! I’ve got a few cards to make this weekend for upcoming birthdays. What a great idea to craft something unique and keep things interesting. Thank you for the inspiration!
Lillian K says
I often mix stamps from several different companies in the same piece. I’m almost embarrassed to tell how much time this takes, masking and all, but it’s fun!
Jennifer K says
Kathy your work is beautiful, truly a work of art! I am not very good at masking so I don’t think I will be giving this a try…maybe some day when I am more confident, I am still really working on my colouring skills. I love your 30 day challenges, it is so much fun and I get to practise my colouring. Thank you so much for all of your wonderful inspiration!
Nancy Leppek says
This is such a large piece and quite intimidating for this girl, but you make it look effortless! I adore colored pencils and you have brought up a great point…I could make a collage of stamps like you have here and color one piece every day! Now that is doable! Thanks for the 30 day challenge I am really enjoying it so far!
Karen N says
Kathy, I LOVE your videos! They are “packed full” of amazing techniques. THANK YOU!!
Colleen says
This is beautiful but too complicated for me. I prefer smaller projects that I can make into cards. Loved learning about color mashing. Thank you for sharing. This is my first 30 day coloring challenge!
justMarie says
I love the idea of using stamps from different companies on one project. I have done that a little, but your’s is amazing. You have a great eye!
Emilia says
Love your design. The idea of mixing different sets to create a piece of art is very tempting. I will have to try it one day.
Lisa says
Awesome, Kathy! I will give this a try, indeed! Thx for sharing & encouraging & inspiring!
Disha says
You are such an inspiration. And the people you work with “Your tribe” all are fabulous. This is my first time entry for this challenge and I am so so inspired by all of you. I will definitely try such an art piece. 🙂
Lynda Pleckan says
Love the composition of what you’ve done so far on your project, Kathy. I look forward to seeing your progress. I haven’t thought about doing something like this, but I do like the idea. I think maybe I will try it in the future. The scary part for me would be the thought of messing up when I am well into it and have invested many hours.
kathy krug says
Every year I say I am going to do this but I never do, but this year I am going to give it a try. I am not good at it at all, but I think I could get better if I practiced. You make it easy… just 10 minutes a day. I just have to learn to put a project aside to work on gradually. i always want to finish.
Cindy Aguirre says
I really enjoyed your video! I loved the backgeound you created and your proct looks fabulous!
Diane F says
WOW! Such an amazing project! You will truly have a one-of-a-kind piece of art when you are done. You have such amazing talent. Thank you for sharing it with us. I would love to try something like this but I don’t think that I am ready for it.
Mayanna says
I love that composition. I find the revealing part of masking like magic! I will try to make a big one one day. Your coloring detailed explanations are very helpful. It is my very fist challenge, I am very happy to try it.
Thank you for offering that experience.
Cindylu Miller says
Oh my, oh my, love how you incorporated the fruit and the butterfly with the flowers, beautiful!
Dana M says
What a fantastic piece! Love the mix of florals and fruit. Super cool background technique, it would be fun to try that sometime.
NK says
I honestly would not have thought to mix the fruits with the florals in a wreath. Love it. I am intimidated by all things masking…I just need to jump in and do it. I always love the effect and should learn to channel Kathy’s no-fear-jump-in approach. Once again, you are fun to watch and inspiring. Off to color something….
Neeta says
So fun to watch you work. I’m hoping to be up for the challenge. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
Sondra Hammond says
I am intrigued by this idea and need to give it a try. I love to color, so relaxing. Thanks for sharing this great idea!
Debbie says
Thank you for the video and great ideas! You are an inspiration.
Marcee says
I would absolutley try something like this! Even if it didnt turn out to be frame worthy the coloring alone would bensonfun.
treen says
I have been thinking about making some art for my kitchen for a few years now. I love tea pots, tea cups, herbs, and flowers. The pieces that you have framed in the past have helped give me ideas. This work that you did today is really amazing. I really want this coloring challenge to help get me ready for this kind of piece. This is drop dead gorgeous! I”m in love with it. You are so encouraging and I think if I start to think about this step by step, using the tips (like the one about coloring the individual items lightly as you take off the masks and coloring the background first) really help me decide how to go about this. I’m so grateful for you you and all the women that you know and love an d help to keep me encouraged. My life would be so different (and not in a good way) without all of you. Thank you, hugs, treen
Mari 049 says
I enjoy your work. I will like to take this challenge but I might take me more than a month to finish. Thanks for your time and teaching us patience with art.
Leticia A. G. says
How beautiful! My favorite part of crafting is combining different stamp sets and products. I will try floral background soon!
Patricia says
Wow amazing card and coloring love it . Love the way you combined all the stamps.
Zehra says
This is gorgeous, I have tried the background at times, it is a time commitment. It depends I do it when I want something special being made but not as a norm.
Rosy Newlun says
Hi, Kathy, I’m so glad you are hosting another 30 day. I love your fruit flowers and butterflies. I have to keep it a little more simple just because even coloring takes energy 🙂 I hope to play along with you.
Marcia says
You have inspired me. My husband is working on changing our basement into a craft room for me and I’m working on decorating it. I will definitely work on a project like yours to add to the room. I want to have lots of bright colors everywhere since it is in the basement.
Wendy Fisher says
Hi Kathy, I love watching your videos. They are so calming and totally make me in the mood to color. I am going to try all these tips on my next coloring project and I will be sure to share! 😉
Nicole says
Kathy, you are always so generous with your time and explanations, and now these beautiful giveaway bundles! Wow!!
I actually just did a piece using stamps from multiple companies on my mama’s gift bag for mother’s day, it was so much fun to mix them up.
Doreen says
Love your coloring Kathy! I have never masked an image but hope to try real soon.
Carla Stiksma says
Love the idea of combining stamps from different companies to create something different. I don’t enjoy masking but I would try something like this and cut out the different flowers and layer them instead. Thanks again for the inspiration!!
Rikki Scott Morgan says
Wow Kathy this is incredible. I just
Love how you encourage us to think outside the box. I will have to think about
giving this a try. I struggle with layouts so thank you for the inspiration.
karenladd says
I often mix stamp sets but don’t usually do much masking. Your results are gorgeous but not sure I would have the time and patience for this complex technique. I would probably stamp the base flowers and then add fussy cut stamped images over it to fill in. Thanks for always being such an inspiration
Irene says
This is an amazing work of art! I think I would like to try something similar with watercolor no-line coloring. Thanks as always for the inspiration!!!
Memoriesbymanda says
Kathy, as always, your colouring is astounding! The time spent just preparing the piece to be coloured is beyond my capacity. As I have a disability I have limited time and capacity for crafting so I could not undertake a work like this. But I love crafting, unfortunately I can’t say it is cheaper than therapy!
Flo says
Yea, this would be fun to use my stamps from different companies to do one piece. Can’t wait to see it when it’s all done.
Julie says
Fun hop! I love the fruit pieces you’ve colored so far—stunning. As for my projects the next 30 days, I plan to make cards and create pages for my art journal.
Lynne Jardine says
Wow this looks fab, great tip to colour an image as you remove the masking paper!
Melanie Froling says
You are amazing. Thank you for giving us permission to play and to take time for ourselves.
Lisa Uribe says
I sure would try this – I’ll try anything crafty. I’ve finally given up on craft perfection. This looks like fun and I would be happy with my best attempt, no longer worrying if it looked as awesome as yours!
Trina says
Phenomenal blog hop packed with inspiration! This event is the reason I started coloring, and learning how to shade and add depth and dimension.
I love mixing stamp sets, especially if it helps me use my supplies. Unfortunately, I find some companies don’t like that.
Your coloring is amazing. Looking forward to seeing the finished piece.
Nora says
Oh I can totally see this in a frame!! I LOVE the coloring of the pear!! And I am one of those that just likes that I have permission to color something and NOT make a card. Then I use these colored somethings in the future for challenges!!
Crystal says
I did something like this during the last coloring challenge when I made a floral heart…it was so much fun! It kind of took the pressure off to finish in one day (I knew that would never happen – lol) and I always had something to work on during the week without stressing. I can’t wait to see the rest of your wreath! Beautiful.
Jeri says
I would not try a project this complicated, for sure. However, I do often mix stamps & sentiments from different companies.
Lynette says
I’ve wanted to redo my craftroom décor lately. Maybe I could make some cute scenes to hang up this month! 🙂
Carolyn S says
Your art piece is spectacular – I can’t wait to see the end result. Your advice to mix companies is really great – to be honest it never even occurred to me to do that (how dumb is that!?!). Thanks for all you do to promote this industry and ultimately everyone’s health!
Eleanor Chua says
Love the bold colors.
Monica W says
Your coloring is amazing! I don’t know that I am ready to do quiet that just yet but I will stick with small images for now (maybe I can try it in a smaller scale
Christine Hodge says
I have never used mask or masking paper. I am so excited to use it! Thank you so much for introducing it to me.
HOLLY D JACKSON says
Hey hey girl!!!
Christine Hodge says
Good to see you on here!

I’m not confident enough in my skills yet to create an art piece, but I can totally see my daughter-in-law doing this. Her home is adorned with photos and paintings she’s created and she loves to color. I think your suggestion to just sit and color for 10 minutes a day is wonderful. I’ve been playing with some simple watercoloring and find it so relaxing. Looking to join you in this challenge.
Deb Tilton says
I mix and match everything from products to brands to create cards. I like creating scenes along with playing with all the new products out there. But I have yet to master the pencil & markers and color layering so it looks good. I would love the chance to get more supplies to work with and practice!
Lisa Young says
This is absolutely stunning coloring, Kathy! I’d have to try something simple, but you’ve inspired me!
Anne Sturgeon says
I think this is pretty. If I were to try this I would want something more simple. My sister has a favorite saying about “adjusting your sails”. I can’t remember it, I would have to look it up. Anyway it would be a ship with some shoreline in the background. I think this provokes an idea…….
Jenny Bordeaux says
Kathy that’s amazing! The time masking alone must have been awhile. I like the idea of not always having to “make a card” and being able to play. Thank you for inspiring me to do just that!
Nikki says
Kathy this is my 1st time participating in thedailymarker30day. I’ve seen your beautiful work and it’s inspired me to give it a try. I love this masking technique and love it. So now I’m off to try a few flowers on a card with my alcohol markers. Thanks for sharing such great videos and positivity for all us crafters.
Nikki 🙂
Carrie says
Love your wreath of goodness, Your coloring challenges always inspire me to try something new. I may create a wreath similar to yours, I love that you used different stamps to create a unique piece. Thanks for all the great tips.
Golda says
I do love putting different images together to create what I want. I have definitely put stamps from different companies together, before. Now, not coloring parts. Yep, I’ve done that, too. Thanks for the idea on marking things as you unmask them, so you know what it is, later. That is a fabulous idea!
Jenny Lloyd says
I love this idea. I have to build up to having enough stamps to do that!! I’m on day 3 but wondering how I’ll make it to day 30!!
Deepa Lakshman says
I just got a coloring book from a tag sale in our community. My daughter said it is hers but after coloring one butterfly, she said the next one is mine. I was delighted. When it is done I hope it is frame worthy like yours.
Jackie Bednar says
Thanks so much for this project. Ive been trying todo a search on mixing images and your project shows exactly what ive been looking for. I have some favorite stamps ive been wanting to put together. I love the tips on masking and coloring so you know what is a flower petal thats part of each image. Also hiding something that didn’t stamp well. I cant wait to go through more of the hop.
Kathryn A says
I love combining images from different companies, but I’m not sure if I could achieve the level of masking and complexity that you’ve achieved here.
Brandi R says
Ooooo! This is gonna be a beautiful piece! I’m beginning to feel inspired….I think I might just have to give it a go. Time to sort through some of my stamps and see what I can come up with. Thank you for the little nudge ♥
Maureen Reiss says
I really want to try this!!! I can’t wait to see this finished!! Thanks so much!!
Larissa Heskett says
SWOON!! SO BEAUTIFUL!! I LOVE the way that you combined so many sets to create your OWN Main Image!! I think this would be FUN especially for a SPECIAL Gift!! THANKS for sharing and for the chances to WIN!! Have a FABULOUS WEEKEND!!
Jean Chaney says
I actually do have a piece that I have been working on for weeks, Kathy. These pieces are good for really putting some effort into one’s coloring skills. Yours is off to a fantastic start!
Dana Kirby says
Wow!! This is Amazing!! I don’t think I am ready for something this sophisticated as it is my first time playing along. But I am ready to have some fun and give the challenge a try!!
Annette Hindes says
Like how different stamps all go together
Not sure I am ready to attempt such a large project
Keely Jones says
I love what you did, but feel no where near to that level of coloring anything. I usually go with a project that doesn’t require much coloring, because I am so bad about keeping in the lines.
Angeline Choo says
I always look forward to your coloring challenges. It is just awesome to color, without having the pressure of turning into cards. Thank you for being such an awesome inspiration. LOVE your coloring!
Beverly Uhlmansiek says
I’m so up for trying this! This challenge, for me, is one I’m planning on trying new things! You, my dear, are the master of inspiration – so glad I joined!!
Kathy J in Ellicott City says
What a great challenge. I am going to give it a try, but I don’t know if I will make it.
Betty says
think doing a piece of art would be way above my pay grade – going to stick to the card format!
Michele Lourenco says
I would definitely try something like this, knowing I wouldn’t have to completely finish it in a day. I love that I can just color freely for this challenge and not have to necessarily complete a card. It’s so much less stressful. Sometimes I just want to color, other times I want to design cards.
I wish I had your skill and paid attention to detail and lighting, that is what really makes a difference!
Tammy Nyenhuis says
Oh, that’s just beautiful, I will definitely try it!
Wilda Todd says
I am absolutely in love with your ideas and techniques. Can’t wait to get started…
F. Andre says
This is a beautiful piece. I’d love to give this a try, as I’m trying to improve my colouring skills. Thanks for organising this challenge.
Amanda Panda Wong says
I would love to create larger art work. Although, I don’t think I could do it with masking but maybe a collage of die cuts
Carla Hundley says
How pretty this is and I’d
like to try something like
this. Wonderful blog hop.
Carla from Utah
StampinLouie says
Kathy I love your creativity and the detail you put into your work. Yes I have and would try this. On the last color challenge I tried a card similar and loved it. thanks for all the inspiration.
Janet says
Fabulous, great blog hop!
julie m says
this is way beyond my coloring skills. i need a lot more practice. but i have been having fun coloring my own way and that is what counts
Patti G says
I love it, I will have to try this with some of my stamps. Great idea!!!
Betty Sue says
I don’t know if I would attempt a project like this. I’m not sure I’m patient enough! Lol! Love your piece! It’s beautiful!
HellenT says
I possibly would if I had some free time.
JodyT says
Beautiful art work. This might be something I’d do.
Cindi F says
I love this! I would love to do a piece of art. It would definitely take time but I love coloring. Thanks for the chance to win!
karenajo says
This will be a beautiful art piece! I love the idea of using stamps from different sets and companies. You have created such a wonderful piece to color! Thanks for the inspiration!
Lori says
I would definitely love to try this, I love masking!
Enna says
Gorgeous! If you don’t have a frame for that yet, I have the perfect one that’s just waiting!! 😉 I love that suede-textured background. And I love that you used a combination of companies. So often, especially during blog hops and YouTube videos, cardmakers seem to limit themselves to just one brand. For someone like me, who doesn’t even want to have a blog, all my stuff is a mash up & I can’t imagine limiting myself. But even I have not combined so many different companies, since I have been limiting myself to A2 type sizes or just a bit bigger. Like you said, we all have a collection of gorgeous stamps that would work great together. Thanks for taking a step out of the norm! So inspiring!
Cary Lombardo says
Your artwork is beautiful. I love that you combined so many stamp sets. I’m definitely thinking of trying something similar.
Ishani says
Your coloring is so inspiring. A coloring like this framed and put on the wall.. to tell people.. I did.. Will make me famous 😉 I wish to learn copics and need to save money for it.
leslie mahon says
Just WOW! I am in awe of your creativity and talent! I cannot wait to play with some combinations of sets! …and I believe that will help me participate every day…except maybe Saturday…my retirement party day!!!! Color on, lovely lady!!!
Miriam Leech says
Love this piece of art and how you combined stamps from different companies!!! Wow!!! I think I would have to start on a much smaller scale, but would love to try!!!
Cheriese says
LOVE THIS!! Adore how bold your colours are! Great inspiration!
Rose Santuci-Sofranko says
I would love to try something like that, it’s so lovely! Thanks and God Bless!
Maria says
Truly beautiful! You’re work is so inspiring… I would love to try creating pieces like this. It certainly expands the use of stamps and coloring mediums.
Thanks for your challenges!!
Abby says
I’m so excited for another Challenge month! Love the idea of ‘pre-coloring’ the image parts to reserved and see them better.
Carol Sue Abell Jones says
Yes, I think I will try something like this! It’s a wonderful idea. To make a large piece of art would be fun and rewarding. You are always very inspirational Kathy!
Katie Baird says
I’m having so much fun and it’s only day 2! Yes! I would totally give something like this a try. I’m usually up for anything. I may not actually finish it, though;)
Bonnie says
The arrangement and detail of your piece is beautiful! I love to color with many different mediums, but I am not very confident with masking. I am looking forward to participating each day in the coloring challenge. I’ve been working with colored pencils lately, so I expect that is where I will begin. Thank you for all the hard work that you have put into this event.
Annalisa says
The idea that your piece would not be bloghop worthy is laughable, but this piece is particularly arresting. I can’t wait to see it progress throughout the challenge. As for your question, I’m not sure if you mean the challenge or the prize packs. The challenge? I’m absolutely participating. When it comes to the prize packs, I’m drawn to the colored pencil and watercolor versions, but that’s because those are the mediums I know. I’ve never colored with copics or any other alcohol markers, so that would be a fun, new challenge as well! Thanks for putting together these fabulous events. You are such a force for crafty goodness in the world, Kathy.
Lea Lawson says
I’m not much of a masker…on occasion I will. I really only have very basic coloring skills, but I still enjoy doing it! Beautiful job on your project so far!
Lee Ann Barrett says
Outstanding project, Kathy! I love that you are honest about time, or the lack of it, just like the rest of us. It would be so easy to pretend that you are superhuman (well, you sort of are) but you are also just like the rest of us! I love to mask, so I definitely may try this type of project. I need to watch your video (when I have time!).
Stacy Roller says
I would love to try something like this! I used to color when I was going through chemo, but now I mostly save it for cards. How fun to do it as an art piece. Great idea! And I love the challenge!
Lee-Anne says
Totally amazing work of art. Love how you combined all the different company’s stamps. Well worth the time spent masking.
Linda says
Hey Kathy I love what you have created, it’s so you!! I don’t think I could ever create my own piece to color. However, this sounds perfect for a large book I have done by Anna Griffin. She sold small versions and I know at least 1 big version, I have both. I think I can give it a try.
Thanks for all you do. The support and creativity is wonderful.
God bless
Annette Hovestol says
What a beautiful piece of art. I really like these challenges. It makes me color a bit each day. Thanks for the chance to win one of these awesome prizes! Have a great day!
Miriam Prantner says
Love the idea of creating a standalone stamped/colored piece of art, and I love that you combined so many sets for this! Can’t wait to see how this progresses!
Cathy Lillie says
Beautiful artwork! I love the floral and fruit designed image and maybe someday I’ll be able to work up to something like this. For now, I’ll stick to my coloring book images. I just recently bought some Tombow markers so I’m going to try them out with this 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Thanks for the encouragement!
Karen says
Love this challenge and making a piece of art. I’m going to do my favorite floral’s for a frame so I can enjoy it every time I sit at my desk. Thank u for the challenge and this great idea.
Rufus says
Wow, there are going to be 3 very happy people soon! While I know that when you get done with this it will be gorgeous, I don’t have the coloring skills, but even more, I don’t have the patience to stamp and mask it out, let alone color it! But I’ll look forward to watching your progress! Have enjoyed each and every one of your coloring challenges. So glad that you keep doing them!
Kristine Boydstun says
I love this! Combining all those florals is genius! I can’t wait to try this!
Shauna M. says
Kathy, your technique and project are amazing, but I don’t think I’d be able to do anything similar at this time! I’m definitely still a ‘newbie’ to all of this! Thanks for the chance to win the prize packages!

Janet Sisk says
I would be WAY OUT of my comfort zone to make a piece of art like yours. I am pretty much a card maker. Thanks for the inspiration and chance to win. 😀

Carol Dogget says
Thanks for the inspiration….gonna have to give this a whirl! What generous prizes, thank you for creating….and for helping us create too!
LindainDFW says
Beautiful picture already as is, look forward to see it completed. I do want to do the color challenge. I am completely new to coloring so am nervous, but I did do a little watercoloring.
Danielle Dietz says
I would love to be able to create a beautiful artwork piece. The thought is daunting though!
Rachel Kleinman says
This will be stunning when finished and it already looks beautiful! Can’t wait to watch it unfold
Sharon Hatch says
I love the idea of mixing different stamp companies! But it’s terrifying at the same time! I’m new to your challenge but I found you because of Jennifer McGuire
Vijaylaxmi says
Wow…u did a fabulous job….I love mixing and matching but scared of masking !! But will definitely try to come out of all my fears soon. Thanks for the chance
Deekshita says
WOW Kathy!! This is amazing!! Definitely will give it a try;) you are such an inspiration and always so encouraging!!
Karen S. says
First of all, congrats on your big “ten oh” (10) coloring challenge. I have done your challenges in the past. Unfortunately, this one is while I am dealing with a death in the immediate family, and I am just, for lack of a better word, nonfunctional. I wish I could color, for escape, but I just can’t do it right now, and that makes me even more sad. On a positive note, (1) this blog hop IS enjoyable to see others inspiration and (2) I love your idea of combining a plethora of stamps for your project! And lastly, a huge thank you for these challenges, as they (normally) are fun, good practice, and a nice stress reliever…..and I realize just how much work YOU must do “behind the scenes” to make these possible for me and all of your followers! ❤
Maxine B says
I have in the past used different companies to make cards for family and friends. Thanks for bringing that idea back to mind. Can’t wait to see the finished portrait.
Kristina Hein says
I’ll be honest. Masking that many stamps makes me scared! I’ll have to start with something small and work my way up!
Kristy P says
Looks great! In general, I would try something like this; however, I won’t be doing it any time soon unless it is a gift. Unfortunately, the place I moved to doesn’t have many walls and I am currently unable to put up the art I already have. 🙁
sharla~ says
Wow Kathy, all that stamping is so impressive, I have a hard time masking correctly to get the images right… yikes! Your coloring is amazing as always, I LOVE all the flowers you color and that apple looks so real. I think the coloring page I finished today is frame worthy, especially for all the time invested! 😉 Thanks for these challenges and I also love that there is no pressure to create a project, that is mostly why I love this challenge…and all the inspiration! 🙂
Rosa says
What you created is so nice! I can’t wait to try something like that. Thanks for all the inspiration.
Kris in Alaska says
Yikes! This kind of project scares me… maybe a smaller size for me?
zubmomi says
Wow! This is absolutely amazing…a work of art!!! I think I would try something like this on a smaller scale. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
Dheepika Vasudhevan says
Wow!! This amazing.
Now I think I have to try something like this.
Mónica M says
I may just draw a wreath myself and color it in. I like drawing my own scenes too for my cards.
Billie A says
Beautiful mix of stamps. I love the idea and how you get the fun textures in there. This is going to be stunning when you’re done. Thanks for the tips on how you get this look.
Melinda Brein says
I would totally be up to trying this!!!
Margery C says
I love watching you color. I learn a lot from all your videos. Drawing everyday is not so easy to do and you do it and post a blog- Wow! I’m not sure I could do something like you. Mine is simple but I do enjoy the feeling when the whole thing is colored.
Maryam Crafter. says
This is beyond amazing.
Vivien says
Oh wow, this is super inspirational. And feels oh so challenging for me. lol. I will attempt it though, at some future point in time.
M Strach says
Adorable! Coloring is so fantastic … but Masking is still to hard for me.
mari says
Your creation is amazing! I do not think my skills are there yet, but maybe some day I could try to do something similar.

Becky H. says

Gwendolyn says
Will DEFINITELY give it a go! I like the idea of just doing it in parts, makes it all much doable! Thanks for the inspiration Kathy.
Yasmine Omar says
Wow! So Gorgeous piece of art. I definitely would love to try to make a small version of it. Thanks for encouraging us with this amazing challenge. Really thanks for everything you do.
Renee says
I have only started colouring this year and lucky for me I was watching a Jennifer Macguire video and she suggested to watch your work. You make it look so easy and colour mashing has really helped my attempts become something I am proud to show off. Love watching you create such wonderful pieces.
MandaLJ says
I’m in awe of all the masking you’ve done, and the beautiful results it gives! Fabulous! I don’t think I’d tackle something so big but I often use masking.
Samantha VanArnhem says
Well now I’m for sure going to try to combine some stamps this way – it looks amazing!!
Glenda says
Yes, one day I would love to do something like this, but I think I need to learn to crawl before I run!! Can’t wait to see the end result.
Anastasiia says
wow! I’ve newer thought that flower stamps can be mixed in this way! Fabulous! I usualy mix only similar products, but now I’m inspired to try smth new)
Helen says
This is so beautiful. Looking forward to seeing it finished. I often mix stamp sets but nothing on this scale. You’ve inspired me to give it a go. And putting down some colour as you remove masks is a fantastic idea!! Tfs xxx
Linda M. says
Your artwork is amazing! I’ve never tried anything like this. I consider myself a beginner, but I think my coloring has improved over the last year thanks to you and lots of practice. Thanks for sharing your fabulous talent!
Tracey Magner says
Hi Kathy, Congrat’s on # 10!!!!!!!! WOW, Look how BIG your Coloring Challenge has gotten, AMAZING isn’t it? Before you know it you will be celebrating 50 then 100, lol. I LOVE the art you made, it is way BEYOND STUNNING girl!! I can’t image when it is all finished and I am sure it will be framed it will be gorgeous, your always ” outside the box” one of the many things I love about you. I have mixed my stamp companies up, but not on a card or paper but I have done it on canvas quite a few times and loved the results. Thanks to you and everyone for making the 10th Color Challenge happen.
isabel z says
I am blown away by your artistry; this is a little piece of art. I am a coloring beginner and aspire to be half as good as you. I will keep practicing and hope to reach your level someday.
SusanME says
I am so inspired by this! I am definitely going to give it a go! Of course, I’ve gotten inspiration from so many others on the hop that I’ll be coloring every day for months – YAY!
Renata Rush says
Hey Kathy, what a challenge! Mixing stamps, masking…. Definetely stretching our comfort zone. I love your art piece and I will try to use the concepts you showed here to create something I can hang on my wall. No matter how long it takes.
Julie L says
Kathy, so happy for a new color challenge! Your work as always is not only so beautiful but creative. I am just starting to mix stamp companies more— not sure why I am so late to this idea! Looking forward to inspiration in this challenge! Thanks! Julie L
Eva says
Yes! I would love to! But I don’t own much floral and fruit stamps, Maybe I could try a collage with other motives. Meanwhile, I am coloring a page from one of my coloring books with tons of flowers to practice.
Charlotte C says
I am so up to the challenge. Hopefully time will permit my mind’s ambition. Love what you’ve done here with mixing stamps and masking. Thanks so much.
Maranda says
Ooh, I would love to try!!!
Patricia Med says
Thank you for this challange, it gives me an opportunity to learn more by watching all the videos shared, and for encoraging people to color even more!
kReN@afourthlife says
I love all these great tips on masking and coloring you provided! I am in awe of this piece and can’t wait to see as it evolves. Thanks for sharing your talent!
Jeanne says
I LOVE the idea of this, but don’t know that I have the skills to pull it off. I did watch the video you shared about using the Sharpies and Bics and have thought seriously about taking a coloring book page and framing it as art. Haven’t selected a page yet, though. I’m still a very beginner Copic user and thought I might practice my coloring for this challenge. But really, I have a feeling I’m going to be all over the place. LOL I thank you for what you do and what you share. You are very nurturing, encouraging and real! Thanks for all you do!! Hugs!
Sonia Lo Conte says
Hi Kathy! I think for this kind of crazy but amazing project it needs a loooot of patience… I don’t know if I could do it, but I could give it a try. Maybe something less “intricate” .
Gina Seto says
Beautiful project! Can’t wait to see when it is finished! Not sure I’m brave enough to try this technique now but one day I promise myself!!!
Melissa says
Great project! Thanks for sharing!. I already mix stamp sets with nearly every card I make because I only started building my collection a couple years ago, so my variety isn’t what most card makers might be used to. That said, I’m most likely to use scene builders from one maker, characters or images from another maker and sentiments from another stamp maker. I’m still working on my color skills and find Copics to be the most challenging. I always have bleeding outside the lines and it gets a little frustrating sometimes. But I’m patient and still learning!
Anushree Vaish says
Awww…I love your coloring and would definitely try taking out more time for this hobby of mine..Your coloring challenge is an admirable mission for myself…thanks for the lovely giveaway as well.
NatQuebec says
Wow such a great project. Not sure I have the abilities to do that..maybe one day. Practising is the key
Tracy Hawkins says
Wow! It is wonderful! Love this idea and I’d love to try this . You always inspire Kathy! Going to get hopping ! Xx
Jeanne Beam says
I will give this challenge a try. Your coloring is absolutely gorgeous. I’m not good at posting projects, especially on Instagram. Do you have to post to do the challenge?
Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent…
Mary McCaslin says
Well, now I’m all inspired, so I’m heading back to my ‘crafting cubby’ to get bizzzy!
Bea Swere says
Just found you and will be following. Beautiful work
FD91354 says
Thanks so much for coordinating this. It does help me to set aside the time to color. I dont think I’ve run across a card you have colored that I haven’t been inspired by. You always have a new technique to share or a good reason to color – meaning even your sharpies will work. This go around I’m planning to try out new techniques to me. I’ll still have some quite just color time, but I really want to branch out.
Maria B says
I think ai could try something like what you describe. Thank you for the inspiration.
DebiKT says
I’m crazy enough to give this a try… but on a smaller scale to start to gain confidence. This is the year I’m going to work on my coloring and I very much appreciate your helpful tips while watching you color!
carol says
WOW Kathy!! Something to add to my ‘must try’ list! Right now, playing with Bic markers, as a result of your previous post. They don’t blend in the same fashion as copics, but I’m having fun just ‘being vibrant’ with them. Once again, thank you for your incredible inspiration!
Debbie says
Love your beautiful framed work of art. I will have to get up the courage to try!
Beatrice says
Amazing wreath design with multiple flowers, fruits and butterflies and your use of masking item and you used Tim’s stamper!! I love that you used a platform stamper. I just purchased one & find the fact I can apply more ink and stamp again. I find that
I’m not wasting supplies, time and I can lay out stamps as I desire. Thanks again for all the advice & encouragement in coloring!!
Jo Ann K. says
Gosh, Kathy, I normally would not attempt something like this, but your encouragement just might do it! Doing a little piece at a time is the trick. Thanks for all you do to help us challenge ourselves and grow.
Linda Gorman says
I absolutely love this idea!!! What fun to put all types of stamps together! Thank you!
Lisette says
I just found your blog yesterday, and Its really inspiring. I love coloring with Prismacolor pencils (hard to come by in the Netherlands), and just started with alcohol markers. I like small projects so I can see them finished quickly, but I also try larger ones. But you can see a difference in the progress I made in the meanwhile. I would love to use stamps, I love how you use them for cards and also larger projects. Can’t wait to see your project finished.
pam says
hi Kathy, your ideas are amazing, way above what I am able to do YET! I am just a beginner, but hope to keep learning and loving this craft , thanks
Nana Griffin says
Yourt project is lovely and I would love to try something like that but not at this time. This is a much too busy time of year for me. Will certainly keep it in mind though.
Teacy B. says
First, thank you for sharing your talents! I really like this idea of just stamping a large “art” piece. Usually this would be too overwhelming for me but I love your idea of giving yourself time & permission to color it in stages! I’m definitely going to try this for the challenge!
Amanda Dellamano says
Your floral and fruit wreath is amazing! I have never tried anything like this before. I don’t know why I seem to forget that you can mix stamp sets! Silly right!? But you have inspired me to try something new 🙂
Donna Noland says
I’d certainly like to try, but I’m not sure I’m skilled enough yet to not have it be a total mishmash!
Monika.buzsy says
What a gorgeous wreath Kathy! Love the pretty flowers mixed with the fruits! What a beautiful design. I’d love to make something like this, but I am going to be honest with myself and you… I don’t think I’d color that many images for a project… I am still not comfortable with a lot of coloring… and I don’t have the patience to stretch out one projects for weeks (gosh… maybe months)!
Nancy says
I do like combining different stamp sets and masking, but I’ve never done anything that large. Yes, I think I will give it a try, I enjoy a project that keeps me busy for a few days. Yours is lovely …you are quite an inspiration!
Andi Walsh says
I’m thinking of setting a goal to work on a ‘wall art’ piece on the weekends. But weekdays are going to be my ’10 minute’ pieces. Working full-time with an hour commute leaves me tired at night! ps.. love the fruit mixed in the wreath!
Lagene says
I love your coloring challenge and your videos. I especially loved the background technique and will give it as well as the fruit coloring technique a try!
Mary Holshouser says
I’ve been doing more coloring as the library has
an adult coloring night once a month. That got
me started (and my Road Trip experience in
St. Louis) and I’m enjoying it. I think I’m improving.
I’ve never been happy with what I colored – too
critical, I guess. I’m going to try to do the daily
bit – as often as I can. thanks for the encouragement.

I’m definitely going to try this!
Susan V says
I definitely color mostly on my cards, but this is very interesting. Am trying to jump into the Challenge, albeit a little late!!
Purvi says
I absolutely love the idea of combining various stamps. For me,it the most enjoyable part of card making. Brainstorming and finding out which stamps from my stash goes well with my project idea/scenes is fun!
susan a Lorio says
I am relatively new to cardmaking and love and appreciate all of the creativity, ideas, tips and tricks. I would eventually love to try…and master, all of these techniques. i can only hope I have the creative juices to make a go of it. thanks so much for all of your hard work!
Deborah Allmon says
Wow Kathy you are so talented and genuinely creative. I’m so pumped to try just one of your tips in my crafting journey. You’re so right about collecting all these and trying to find a project to to use them with. Now I’m going to try mixing a few Thanks again for the inspiration
Pam says
Love this piece! I have so many stamps & never thought to do something like this. I might have to give this a try now.

Gorgeous art work. I like to explore with different stamp sets on one background but have not worked up to the scale of yours yet.
Renee Person says
I love the idea of mixing sets from different companies. What a great way to have a unique piece. This is something I would definitely try.
Sharon Salerno says
Gorgeous I can’t wait to see the finished project! I am hoping to join in and get some coloring done.
Elizabeth Lasky says
Oh my goodness, I love this! Yes, I am new to coloring with markers, but I love a new challenge. I have my misti, markers, paper and stamps ready to go. Although, I do love the stamps sets you used and have to grab those too!
Cheryl Rigney says
I need to invest in sheets of masking paper before I attempt anything like this. Your project is amazing and I am anxious to see how it progresses.
Ilda Dias says
Wow, what a gorgeous piece of art you are creating Kathy! Once again you have blown me away 🙂 Thanks for such a generous opportunity!
renee milner says
Wow, that’s gorgeous already and I’m looking forward to seeing the end result! Right now I wouldn’t attempt anything like this b/c life’s been a bit nuttier and way more overwhelming than usual. But someday would like to do something that’s frameworthy!
KT Fit Kitty says
Oooh, Kathy, this is so impressive! Your masking of all those flowers and fruit stamps is wonderful! I don’t know if I can join the challenge this time, but I’ll keep checking here for inspiration. If anyone can get me colouring, it’s you! Hoping to do the hop too! I haven’t been colouring at all lately so I definitely need some inspiration. Thank you for your challenge and congratulations on this 10th one!
Jessica Vittek says
I would definitely like to try and do something like this! I think I might try my hand at watercoloring a work of art and frame it in my craft room! Thanks for the inspiration <3
Donnalee Boisseau says
What a great idea! I will def try something like this! Thanks for the inspiration!
Valerie says
I love the way you have combined several sets of stamps. The result is beautiful. I would try this, but perhaps on a smaller scale.
Shann Slater says
This project is both gorgeous and amazing!! Thank you for being such an insiration to all of us Kathy!!
Terrie D. says
I love all the stamping you did! I think it will look awesome as an art piece. I think I will try something like this as well during this coloring challenge. What a great idea 🙂

Mary M. says
Wow, your art looks amazing! The idea for mixing stamps is great…I don’t think I’ve ever tried that. I would love to try something like this on a smaller scale. I’ve had a busy first two days of June but I’m hoping to get out some markers tonight! =)
Dolores Ingraham says
This is wonderful. I have fruit stamps that I never use. Now l will mix them in with flowers and leaves. Thanks for the inspiration.
Noga Shefer says
Thank you so much!! I am using only copic markers, I will be happy to try the DUAL BRUSH PENS 🙂
Stephanie B says
I love the idea of coloring something larger that I can frame, but I find coloring just cards so satisfying (probably because I have ADHD). I do enjoy masking – it can really help me stretch my stamps.
Cindy C. says
Hi Kathy, I ran out of words to say how beautiful your colorings are, let’s just say I am really inspired to try your challenge. And I hope I have something to show at the end of the month?!
Victoria Garrett says
Your art is amazing!!!!! Yes, I would try this!!!
Sharon Christian says
I would definitely try this. Never thought how just a few minutes a day could lead to a completed project. I always feel like I have to finish what I am working in the time I have that day. I guess not 🙂
Fanny says
Good idea how you coloring your stamp! Beautiful work!
Cindyellen Robinson says
Not only would i try something like this – i do, all the time. most of my supplies have been given to me, and frankly, i’m not sure where they come from. so, there’s a butterfly from here and flowers from over there, and animal from yet another envelope. all over a background from an embossing folder someone gave me that i’ve colored/changed in some way/shape/form.
coloring: how adults play. *big cheesy grin*
Denise Griesbach says
Love this! I am off to try creating some “art”.
Patricia Dunbar says
How creative…I have never thought of compiling stamps to create a piece of art like this but I sure will now…thanks for sharing your creativity with us!

Sally says
This is my first time doing this. I am blown away by the awesome coloring. I am so excited to learn new techniques. Thank you for doing this.
lee says
I love it already. I would love to try something like this and am afraid I’d bog down doing what you warn us against: don’t overthink it. I think the feeling of accomplishment would be huge so maybe I should try. If it looks lousy, flip it over and try it again. As Kathy says — it’s only paper — until she makes it art.
Sopofran says
Thanks for sharing and inspiring us, I will definitly try to make a similar project
_chevron2 says
Such a lovely framed piece it will be! Yes, i would love to do some coloring for framing
Julie Booker says
Kathy you a such an inspiration. I love getting new ideas and I’m going to try to do this later in the month for this challenge. I usually colour cards as I like to brighten someone’s day, but I do occasionally keep some of my own work for inspiration and to brighten my own day
bev p says
I think I might enjoy trying this, but not until we are finished with selling/buying/moving, etc! I only kept out a few things to keep me sane for now (smile). I spent a few hours this afternoon working on cards for my grand-girls for their dance recital coming up. Thanks so much for keeping me on track.
Marsha D says
I love to color and to make cards. Right now and probably the rest of the summer, it will be amazing if I get much time for either. I know, take time anyway. Well, I know I won’t be taking on a project like yours. I think that would actually more stressful than not doing any coloring or stamping at all!
Joan Howard says
WOW I’m always afraid to use such a dark color in the background! I love the “wreath” that you stamped with all the different stamps! I’ve never done the challenge before, but I think it is time! Thanks for your inspiration!
Kim Teets says
I would love to try something like this!
Nerdosaurus Riss says
I’m so excited for another coloring challenge! My work is very busy during the summer so it’s nice to remember to take 15 minutes to just be calm and color! I like what you’ve done! Masking is always like a little magic trick, so yes! I would try something like this, but maybe on a smaller scale. I’m not the best planner.
Gwen says
I love how you combined all the stamps. I sure am up for the challenge! Will be thinking of a plan for something frame worthy! Happy for another challenge!
Liz Mcallister says
I don’t think I am ready for a big coloring project. I don’t have alcohol markers, thinking about trying them though
Kelli Horger says
Kathy, love your challenges and I usually try to do at least some the things you demonstrate. Your work is amazing and thank you for hosting these awesome coloring challenges.
Pai says
I always have the intention to participate but never actually follow through 🙁 i have to try the way you use one color to color in your background. i love that!
Stephanie Z says
Wow great combinations of different stamp companies! I tend to like making cards instead so I think that I will continue doing that 🙂
Dana W says
Fabulous coloring!! I’d love to give this a try! Not sure how i’d do!
Anneleise Hampson says
I have just recently begun to try the stamp and mask technique but am really enjoying it. Looking forward to doing more things like this.
Julie Wexler says
Kathy- you are amazing! Fruit, flowers, and butterflies don’t spring first to mind as a combo, but when *you* do it, it makes perfect sense! I don’t know that I’m brave enough to have my coloring work stand alone on its own in a frame. BUT I’m up to a baby – step version… using a piece as a backdrop for a framed collage I’ve been noodling over as a present for my sister’s 50th. Thanks for the inspiration.
Bev Gerard says
Whoa … Blow me over! I just don’t think that I have ever seen a mix of stamp company images being brought together like this in one ‘gonna-be’fabby’ project! Will I try it?? Uhhhh …. not today, but there’s no telling up ahead!
Cathy McGuire says
I’m looking forward to coloring a larger piece that I create with many stamp sets. I looks like fun!
Jackie SMOKER says
Yes. It’s something I will try…. and keep trying. It’s amazing how therapeutic colouring can be when we let go of perfection on the first pass of the pencil, but keep on honing, enhancing, discovering the beauty of every stroke of colour….
Denise Mlady says
Your piece is beautiful, can’t wait to see if finished. I don’t think I have the patience for that much masking but I would try making a decor piece.
Joan Kinnischtzke says
Love the idea of mixing styles, sets and brands of stamps. That turned out so cool, just looking at the stamping! Can’t wait to see it come together as you color, thank you for the inspiration!
Myra T says
I’d love to try something like this, and those supplies would be a great place to start the effort!
Cornelia (fun stamping) says
Totally intrigued – will have to try one day….
Marcie Lovett says
I’m trying to catch up with all the posts I missed earlier. This is always a timely challenge – I need a reminder to slow down and just color periodically. It wouldn’t occur to me to put all those different stamps together, but it looks great. The pears are amazing!
Thanks for the video with the Sharpies and Bic markers, too. I have lots of them and seeing you use them so beautifully was inspiring.
HOLLY D JACKSON says
Oh wow… I love this.
jill dachroeden says

Caren C. says
Awesome idea…I’d like to try it!
Thank you for your challenge, and the chance to win!
Gab says
Oh wow, I LOVE what you created! I think I’d need someone else to stamp/create it all for me and then I’d feel confident to give it a go!
Jo Ann Danchik says
Your work just blows me away Kathy! I always look forward to seeing what you are up to. And I adore your videos!!!
Amy wazwaz says
I have never thought of making a stamped image art work to display as art on the wall. Although that is a brilliant idea. I think I could try this one day. I think k I have to look at my stamps in a new way with this in mind.
Elaine says
What a great way to incorporate stamps from various companies into a project! I have to give that a try! It’s also quite cool how the lighter color gave some texture to the background; can’t wait to see the finished piece!
Jenny Martin says
This is so inspiring – i love all the gorgeous colours!!! I’m going to do my best to do some colouring each day for the challenge. Thanks for all your hard work putting together this event!
MelodyJ says
I would like to do something like this. Your art work came out very pretty.
Beverly Perdue says
I love watching you color and making the pear image come to life. This is a great idea to mix different stamp companies. I have so many different flower images. I’m going to give it a try.
Mary Reiner says
I have combined different stamp sets to create cards – but nothing like what you have done. I love what you created and your coloring is amazing! Thank you so much for your wonderful inspiration and for this 30 day challenge!
Aileen Ryan says
Wow Kathy, you have created a masterpiece there. I cant image doing it myself but I won’t say no never because sometimes inspiration can hit and maybe there will be something out there that gets me going and I will mix some stamp sets. If my granddaughter had her way I would be creating fairy, mermaid, unicorn scenes all over the place laced with lots of flowers and butterflies. Fingers crossed inspiration comes xxAileen
Sue D says
It was fascinating watching you color this. thanks for all the prepping tips. I enjoyed the blog hop.
Jennifer Scull says
I like to mix stamps together based on what project I have in mind, but I have never tackled something of this magnitude! It’s amazing, and I can’t wait to see the finished product! Of course when I was doing DT work, it wasn’t allowed, but I hope to explore more of that creativity again soon. 🙂
Betsy C. says
Wow! I have done simple mixing of stamps sets, like different stem and flowers! I am just a beginner and it will be a bit before I am able to tackle something like yours!
Sheila Bacon says
I’ve been stamping for a number of years, but must say your coloring is impressive!!! The images have a 3-D look!!
Gina says
That is a stunning piece of work, Kathy. I have mix and match different stamp sets on a smaller scale but this is definitely worth a try!
Anne says
Beautiful layout and coloring idea. I do combine stamp sets, but tend to stay within stamp companies when I do. This is a great idea to think outside the box!
NWFlamingo says
Yup! I’ve done this before. Looks beautiful, BTW.
Susan Romito says
I love the idea of creating a bigger piece of art with lots of different stamps. I haven’t done masking in a long time so I’d totally need to practice first. It will be like creating my own coloring pages!
Wendy Goundrey says
Your work of art is very inspiring! Maybe I will give it a try during this challenge. Thanks for being such a great colouring ambassador.
Diane Z says
I will definitely try something like this. I just don’t know when. Thank you for sharing your art, and for inspiring and encouraging me.
Jo Ann Danchik says
I would love to try something like this…but not during this challenge! LOL I have been crazy busy and this month is going to be even more hectic with company and travel…but I have every intention of participating every day of this challenge!!!
Jennifer Archambault says
Not sure I have masking down to a good science yet, so not quite ready to tackle that big of a project. But I will try something a little smaller during this challenge for sure!!
Debbie Peysen says
Yes I might try this. I have always wanted to do something like this but I get overwhelmed. I have bookmarked your video to help me get started. Thanks
Deneen says
Wow Kathy what a beautiful piece. I hadn’t thought to do something like this as a piece of art to hang in the home but now you have my mind going crazy and I just might have to try this for gifts this year 🙂 You always inspire me thank you so much!
Shannon says
Absolutely stunning! Can’t wait to play along with my girls!
Carolyn says
Always looking to try something new.
Cris Walton says
Wow……….just the stamping is frame worthy!

Laurie Brown says
I just love coloring so will be sure to give this a try!!! Thanks so much for this awesome challenge!!
Annika R says
This is a great idea! I seem to collect “Flowers and Nature” stamps, even though I seldom use this. I will give this a go.
Debbie Hight says
I’ve mixed up lots of sets however never had something come out as beautiful as this example! thanks for the inspiration 🙂 love your coloring challenges. I participate each time they are held!
Alta Beegle says
This is the most amazing stamping I’ve ever seen and that’s not counting the magnificent coloring!!
JEWELZB says
I would like to try a big project like yours! However, I started out small by stamping individual things. Mostly flowers, so I could get pumped up & because some days I feel like using markers (my fav), colored pencils, watercolors, etc…and I wanted to have something I could complete in a short amount of time if need be.
Dana N says
I’ve been planning to stamp and color or use a picture from one of my coloring books and frame it. Actually I’ve been planning to make a gallery wall of things I’ve done. Now that I’m taking the challenge things will be coming along faster. Thank you!
Sarah Greber says
I’ve seen your color challenge in the past and I have to join in on it this time around! I’m a beginner at the artistic coloring… but have been learning quick. I am not sure if I would be able to pull off a larger piece like this, with lots of stamp sets. BUT I am going to decorate my crafting space soon and maybe I could give it a try!
Essie says
Oooh Kathy, this is TDF….but I don’t think I’m up to it…yet. Masking–yes! Combining sets–yes! but this level of complexity is probably still more aspirational than posssible–but I LOVE seeing it here!
Denise Terry says
No promises on how good it turns out, but I am going to work on creating some kind of bigger piece during the challenge.
Keena says
Will I try that? Probably not. I’ll just admire yours!! I’m a bit of a mess.
stampinggrandma says
Fabulous creations! Probably no to doing something this complex but maybe someday.
Becky Green says
YES, Kathy! I think you’re right about mixing & matching images that you have! WHAT A GORGEOUS PIECE you’ve created! The time it took to make this, paid off! I also LOVE the vibrancy of the Copic coloring! I LOVE how you created the stippling on the pear & lemon too! JUST BEAUTIFUL! AND the “new” technique you used to do the background, making it more like suede is NICE! 😉
Jennifer McLean says
I love drawing fruit and flowers, fruit has been my passion to paint for the last few years but now flowers are taking a center stage! You’ve done a beautiful job of shading this to look beautiful. Great job! (I’m having my own giveaway if you see this comment soon enough, it closes tomorrow June 5 @ midnight. The giveaway is for the 2018 Custom Schmincke palette that I got to choose the colors for and lots of other goodies. Goto my website to enter. :o)
Abigail S. says
this is definitely a more advanced coloring technique! i love stamping and making cards but i definitely don’t think i’m up for quite a big project like this. i do like mixing stamping companies though for some general coloring fun!
Sarah Watkins says
Nice mixing and matching! You really makes it work with the masking, which is something I’ve never done.
Tammy says
I honestly don’t have the patience to try something like this! But, I think that is because I feel like I need to complete it all in 1 sitting!
Jennifer Petersen says
Loved seeing this start to come together. The texture you add with your coloring is absolutely amazing to me! Beautiful!
Gail Plaskiewicz says
Oh my gosh, you’re coloring is beautiful! I love how you combined all the different things and made a beautiful picture. I’ve been having computer troubles so I might mot be able to type the letter after M unless spell check fixes it. I am so happy the Coloring Challenge is back on! I still love to color & have been doing a lot of it. Mom goes to a lot of therapy appointments & doctors and I color ip the waiting room. I like how you used all those different stamps to make 1 really cool photo! You go girl! I’ll have to try doing what you did. I cam’t wait to see the rest of the blog hop!
MelodyJ says
The purple background really stands out.
Jennifer Lewis says
My problem is I’m a finisher. Once I start coloring something, I HAVE to finish because I just can’t wait to see what it looks like when it’s done! LOL
Amy Seigler says
Kathy this project is a WOW project!! I love to be challenged and yes I would try a project like this and I know it would take me a very long time. I think it would be fun to really practice on my coloring with something like this until I could get it right before it would be wall worthy. Love it!!! Thanks for the inspiration.
Lisa A creations says
That is a piece of art! I’m not too sure if I would be able to finish a project like this. I usually start and don’t finish. It’s a bad habit of mine.
Nicole Rinaldi says
Love your project! I’ve been thinking about make some art pieces but I was leaning towards something more abstract lol! That way I can hide my mistakes.
Autumn Clark says
What an incredible post and generous giveaway! I love the inspiration I find here, and look forward to following along with the daily prompts.
books_and_scraps says
Yes, I want to try it!!!!!!!!!
Mel H says
This is a fabulous idea, and one I’d never really thought about. I’ve created a few “scenes” for cards, but never thought about using stamps and other images to create a larger art piece. I think I will be giving this a try!
pam edwards says
I have been enjoying your blog hops for a while now. Always so much fun. I love to color. I like all the sweet touches you show and different products you use. Thanks for hosting and sharing.
Randi Marquez says
HI Kathy – you are awesome, thank you for the chance to win wonderful prizes! I am excited to participate this time, I have some new Altenew dies and stamps that I MUST try! Thanks for the inspiration.
Katie says
Oh goodness! I just found your challenge. I don’t know if I could attempt such art! Perhaps, if I get a lot of practice. Thank you!
Leanna says
Wow! Yes I am really loving how the different stamp sets were put together to make a larger piece. Totally trying this ❤️
Rebecca Ednie says
I prefer to work on individual pieces then arrange them with foam dots as I love the dimension. But I have tried a larger arrangement with masking before. It didn’t turn out well sadly. I tried to color yellow flowers on a navy blue background but the yellow let too much blue show through. I’ll try again with a different color combo.
Arianna Barbara says
Wow! It’s awesome! I might have to try this. Thanks for sharing! <3
Jenna Batik says
Would definitely give it a try
ELIZABETH CRAWLEY says
I would love to try my hand at some colored pencil techniques. I only have a box of crayolas right now, but you have to start somewhere. I love how many resources and inspiration there are available now!
Heather Innusa says
This piece is so beautiful!!!! Love it! I really like masking a lot, but I’m still totally a work in progress! I always tend to mix up what will be in front/back of the design DOH! I keep practicing though and lovely ladies LIKE YOU help with showing us the ropes!!
Denise Bryant says
How inspiring! Absolutely gorgeous!
Cindi Walsh says
Hmmm, I might try it on a smaller scale. I love yours though. The fruit looks delicious! I like the dots on the pears and the lines on the apple. It’s going to be gorgeous.
Marisela Delgado says
Great card and beautiful colors
Misty C says
I am a little overwhelmed by the idea of doing a piece worth framing, but that would be a great challenge for me since I am already jumping in on social media even doing this challenge, so… WHY NOT?? 🙂
Connie G says
I would be willing to try but I know it won’t turn out as beautiful as yours!
Barbara Thompson says
The worst part of taking up a craft or hobby is when you start to feel yourself losing interest. Right now I could use a new way to craft and this idea uses things I have already. Yes, I think this is something I would like to try.
Wendy Lambert says
I need to get better ink before I tried stamping and then coloring but it’s not something I have done before. I’ve seen a lot of videos about it but I honestly am intimidated and worried about getting discouraged. But that will get me nowhere so I just need to jump in and do it. Your project turned out so beautiful.
Janet Trapp says
Yes!!! Love! Definitely going to try creating an art piece for my craft room!
Amanda L says
I would stay something like that but I don’t think it would turn out as well! I always have a vision for things but it always takes a left turn somewhere along the way ☺️
Lisa Tilson says
Oh yes I would definitely like to try this! I need to take a close look at my stamps and see what I could mix and match. But what I really love is the uniqueness of this panel, and the size. It’s gonna be completely worth a frame at the end I know it! And pride of place in your house. Beautiful work Kathy, Lisa xx
Sarah Küttner says
Your work is wonderful. I am so happy about the great challenge! And you have such wonderful supporters. The prices are incredible. You can only be speechless!
Angie Hall says
Great video today. You are so generous to share your hints about coloring with us. The details of the fruit for instance.. Good job using so many different companies on this creation.
Jessica Whitehouse says
I love coloring, but I don’t think that I have the patience to stamp/mask an entire sheet. I prefer pre-printed coloring pages or books.
Squdge says
Hi. I only found out about this late last night and hurriedly coloured a whole page in my colouring book badly! Today after reading so many blogs – and after this amazing hop I am sure there will be many more – and watching videos I feel ready to slow down. I stamped 2 pages of regular cardstock and 1 page of watercolour paper with a variety of stamps – flowers, animals, people. I’m hoping to learn a lot about blending and shading to give my colouring depth.
Thanks for the challenge and the blog and the amazing give aways! This is such a lovely way to bring people together!
Dawn Jones says
I love how you combine your stamps to create such a beautiful and unique work of art. I haven’t done this yet, but am encouraged to try with some of my stamps. Love your work and your enthusiasm for this very fun and therapeutic craft.
Milka says
Gorgeous, Kathy!!! I love your stamped and partly colored piece. Can’t wait to see how will it look framed. Would I give a try to create something like you did? YES. Thank you for sharing and inspiration, for the giveaway and another fun coloring challenge. Big hugs!! xx
Alyssa S says
This will be a masterpiece by the time you’re done with it!! You have inspired me to pull out additional sets…when I’ve done this in the past, I’ve stuck with the same company. It’ll be fun to mix and match and mesh all the goodies together! Thanks for the continual inspiration!!
ionabunny says
This is an amazing combined image. I love how you added the fruit. I think this is a cool idea and would definitely give it a try. Thanks for the tip on marking the colours as you unmask. Hugz
Sharon Martinelli says
Wow, I thought I was the only one who took their sweet time setting the stamping etc etc for a project. Makes me feel so much better! I’ve always complained how it takes me forever to finish a project lol. This looks like an interesting feat…I tried today, but got interrupted…I might make another attempt soon.
Jessica B says
Your work is great. I’ve done canvas work before using my MISTI. I have more on my todo list.
Have a great day,
Jessica
barbara ariens says
just got out a bunch of my stamp sets and was amazed at all the creations there were to be made Thanks beautifu work
Holly Denghel says
I love to color just for the sake of coloring. I actually do that more than I do something specifically for a project.
