Hello Friends! How are you? If you are from the USA a warm and Happy Thanksgiving to you. I want you all to know that I am so blessed that you visit my crafty corner on the wide web on a regular basis and I try to convey that but, communicating isn’t something I am really good at. So hopefully a simple thank you from the bottom of my heart will do. Thank YOU!
My family doesn’t eat meat often and to avoid cooking raw chicken I buy a rotisserie chicken when we do. From the bones I make broth and use the chicken for soup and such. I have been saving these little chicken wish bones for six months or so.
When I was making some turkey broth for Thanksgiving it hit me what to do with the wish bones I was collecting.
I thought it would be fun to paint them with some nail polish. It only look a two coats of nail polish to get nice coverage and a top coat wasn’t required. When you have stuff sitting around the house an idea can come to you lol. These rocks were left over from another project from an older post so I literally poured some polish on the rock and I like how they turned out. (be sure to use a well ventilated area when painting with nail polish. )
Once everything was dry I glued the wish bone on the rock and was pleased with the outcome. What do you think? Something fun and different and that is it. Here is a quick video to see my process.
What’s your favorite color?
I ended up using the rocks on my Thanksgiving table.
On another note….
For Day 21. I had a few minutes to sit down and add some details to the Christmas Corgis. You can see the post here.
Have a great day and again my deepest gratitude. Many hugs, Kathy

I love the wishbone rocks, the do good duty for your tablecloth in the summer outside or when you like to read the paper outside or just an other gorgeous ornament on your Thanksgiving table. I love the dark red/aubergine one.
Your Christmas Corgi is so cute, I saw this one already on Instagram and I found it just awesome. I the green stripe/flowers desing paper or did you draw/colour that yourself?

xoxo olga
Such a fun and creative idea! I love this! I could see my daughter really liking this project!!
Leave it to Kathy to make something up with something we would never have thought of making something with. We always just make a wish with ours but I don’t know what happened to ours this year. What I want to know is where did you get those rocks? My sister wants some Mandela rocks but I don’t know where to get the big ones like you have. Someone said in their backyard but if I could find some in my back yard I wouldn’t have to ask where to get them. There is a beach at the Cape that is full of rocks instead of sea shells & would be great for those kinds of rocks. Unfortunately, it’s winter now & I’m sure you can’t go on that beach even if I could go to the Cape this week. I want some of those rocks!
Love what you did! Great idea!
these are so nice and fun!
