Hello All! Super quick post as I prep and get my head together for an early morning wake up call. Super excited to be headed to Gina K. Designs beautiful store in Wisconsin! Burr! Seeing some of YOU will warm me up for sure!
Wellllll….. I posted Day 15. for day 14. so I have probably confused everyone. The good thing is I finished this girl below on the airplane.
This super sweet stamp is from Stamp Anniething and I still have to finish this up but, using a navy pencil on the hair really made it pop. Why navy? It was the only sharp pencil in the pack I brought on the airplane lol.
This is the part of coloring I did with markers and the rest was pencil.
I took this in the car on the way to Gina’s store to drop off some things.
This sweetheart is from Helen T. …. she’s such a special lady and I love her illustrations so much. You can check them all out here on her Etsy store.
The best part of coloring on the airplane is I am not distracted and I enjoy it so much. I am more comfortable depending on who’s around me tho ha ha.
Happy Coloring and see some of you today at Gina’s Woot Woot! Hugs, Kathy

Oh my goodness, that hair is amazing! I wish my hair was that shiny! I NEVER would have guessed that you used navy pencil in it, crazy. Have fun a Gina K’s, wish I was going to be there.
Never would have thought to use navy blue but wow it’s a stunning addition. I can see why you like those stunning ladies heads, I have a set similar but in cross stitch. Never noticed the boob on dates, typical me lol. Have an awesome weekend xxx
WOW the colouring of that hair! Jaw dropped! And who cares, day 14 or 15, as long as we’re all having fun! 🙂
That navy pencil looks awesome in her hair!! See that’s why I love you. Always making me want to try something new. And you already know I LOVE watercoloring. All your cards are amazing.
You continue to inspire us every day, regardless of which day it is. I keep wondering how on earth you manage to color on an airplane. Do you have a clipboard? Anyway, I’m so impressed with your results … as usual, they’re fabulous. Thank you so much.
So stunning hair coloring
Love your colouring of the sweet rainbow girl. I haven’t been doing any colouring these past few days, but I did get some more Christmas cards finished.
Have fun at Gina’s!

When I was studying early child education, I learned about the laws of propinquity, which says that a child will select the closest crayon to color with (really????), so I guess for most of us colored pencil users that law applies to choosing the sharpest pencil. I select my colors that way all the time, LOL!
Wow! Navy really did make her hair pop. Great sentiment too.
She is absolutely adorable and that gorgeous hair is simply stunning!
These are both Fabulous!!!!
Your coloring is amazing!!
I always compliment your hair colouring technique but I also love your skin colouring and that’s a part that I struggle with. I’ll browse your video tutorials to see if I find one for skin colouring tips.
This challenge is not only inspiring but very instructive.
Have a cheerful Friday!!!!
BEAUTIFUL!!! That Navy DID make her hair POP!!! Hey, sometimes “blue hair” is IN, RIGHT???? LOL Maybe even, Purple next time! 😉 CAN’T WAIT to see the other image FINISHED, Kathy!!! I’d be the same way about being on the plane too, about being comfortable—- & WHO sat next to me. Have FUN at Gina’s! AND SAFE TRAVELS HOME!!! ;)<3
Navy? Who knew that would work?! (Well, you did!) Have a blast today! I LOVE Gina’s store, and I LOVE your coloring road trip! (And of course I love you and Gina!) A match made in heaven!

Lovely, amazing how navy blue pencil made the hair pop! I’m still coloring, haven’t posted anything, as your first day page link seems to be gone. Have fun at Gina’s store!
All I can say is WOW! I’m trying but the end result never looks like yours. Simply beautiful!
So pretty! I love the lady you are coloring now.
I just love her shiny hairs…
I always love your coloring! Enjoy Wisconsin. My daughter use to live there. She loved the summers but my California girl couldn’t take the winters.
Your remark about coloring on a plane, reminded me when my kiddos were little, I found the bathroom a quiet place to color. This blog has really inspired me to get really into coloring in earnest. I set out my coloring project the night before. I wake up looking forward to coloring.
We do what we have to do right? Ha . 🙂
You colored the hair perfectly with the perfect colors on the first image and I just love the make up you colored on Hellen’s image! This has been the best coloring challenge watching what you create!
So cute, love her pretty sparkly hair with a rainbow!
love how you colored in the Copic marker!!!!!
She is gorgeous. Love the new start too. Have a lovely time at Gina K’s beautiful store.
Wow, the final shading sure makes a difference! Thanks for sharing process pics. It’s very instructive! 🙂
I love Helen , she has such a classic design . Your coloring is stunning , I’ve colored on a road trip before but everyone in the car wanted to talk to me …so an airplane would be an ideal place to color !
Thanks Tracy. You are so sweet.
Love how you colored the hair and added blue pencil for more definition. Enjoy your time at Gina K.
Beautiful job and I would have never thought to use navy! Its amazing!
Those little girls are precious. Their hair is beautiful. It’s hard to believe you used navy blue!! I am surprised you can color on a plane. You must be super organized to do so. I have to have all kinds of products around me to color!! Spoiled me!!
Love how you’ve coloured that little cutie. How effective is that navy pencil! Thanks for the great info, will have to try that.
You really do some fine work on board a plane…. she is beautiful. Love the illustrations too, going to check her Etsy shop. Happy travel and you’re going to be amazing at Gina K.
A navy pencil?! That is ingenious!!!
You do such nice work and on a plane! I guess there wasn’t turbulence.
I LOVE the hair! I Need to take a hair coloring class! Just gorgeous! And the vintage lady is looking fabulous!!!
The girl is so cute! And who would have thought of blue in her hair! 🙂
What a lovely and generous give-away. I am grateful to have a chance for this. I love the softness of watercolor. I believe it started in those seemingly magical “just add water” coloring books of my youth when just adding water with your brush brought forth magic. I have never been one for sharpness and harsh lines, so the opportunity to watercolor in my cards brings added joy. Thank you again for this chance. Safe travels.
Such a cute card!
I still love that little rainbow girl and her Copic, the hair is fantastic! So much dimension and shine (like she’s ready for a Pantene commercial!)
Just lovely!
Just gorgeous Kathy! Love the little girl’s hair and those rainbow stripes are awesome! ❤️
So gorgeous, I’m really excited to see it finished.
Love the bright rainbow….wishing you safe travels and tons of fun at GKD!

Fabulous hair coloring Kathy! And I can’t wait to see the image from Helen finished ❤
Such a great idea
Eeek!! That little girl is so darn cute and reminds me of my own 6 year old. I can’t believe how awesome that hair looks!
always beautiful
Love the blue in the hair. But don’t you keep a sharpener with you? I keep a small pencil case with a sharpener, bag for shavings, several types and shapes of erasers and my blender pencils so no matter which case of pencils I grab, as long as I grab that also, I have what I need!
I just love the gorgeous coloring on her mane.
Love the blush on her cheeks, her hair and everything about this image.
Love this Kathy
That hair is amazing – the navy works so well!
Wow Kathy Navy totally works on her hair! Who knew!?
Lovely colors Kathy, and love the way you coloured the girl.

BEAUTIFUL!
LOVE the image, rainbow and sentiment … a perfect description of the MAGIC that happens as we build up the colour on our stamps … sometimes I think about taking some progress photos so that I can remind myself just how exciting it is to colour and how things change along the way 🙂
Spectacular hair on your first coloring piece!! Seems to glow!
