Hello Friends! How’s your weekend going? I have been at Gina K. Designs store for two days for The Coloring Challenge Road Trip and I have been having the best time ever sharing my top 10 coloring tips. Everyone is so sweet, kind and lovely and being with like minds is so heartwarming.
This I pre-colored and I will be tweaking this in class by adding more black to the nooks and crannies. This beautiful stamp is from Gina’s called, “Majestic Peony” and I enjoyed coloring it in non traditional way.
For Day 17. This Old Fashioned Christmas stamp was watercolored and then I showed class today how to enhance this.
Above is the photo before I added some black pencil and random pencil colors to enhance my coloring.
This is the finished piece. I had such a great two days in Gina K. Designs store sharing my love for coloring with such awesome women and men. Once I get home I will share photos … still having computer issues. Currently I am a borrowed computer.
Thanks so much for your visit today it’s always appreciated! See you tomorrow! Big hugs, Kathy

Oh that traditional Christmas motive! What a beautiful colouring job, I especially like the palette you chose and the final touch with the colour pencils. So, is the stamp from Gina K? I might have to go on a stamp hunt tomorrow.

Question: WHAT KIND OF PAPER do you use when you make your wall art??? Arches Water Color Paper for Water Color, but what about when you use Alcohol Markers? THANKS, KATHY!!!
SAFE TRAVELS!!! ;)<3
Gorgeous work Kathy , going back through my art projects with all my new eyes really opens me up to new ideas . For some reason I think mixing mediums is somehow wrong , I need to shake that nonsense quick !
Really like seeing the different stages of the coloring and how adding colored pencils makes the project come to life!
Your nooks and crannies tips have made such a difference to my colouring! I love the non-traditional colours you chose on those real flowers. Its reminiscent of a beautiful modern wallpaper!
Your colouring makes the peony look like an ornate wood carving!
Wow, simply gorgeous. Adding to the water colored design with pencils is so pretty. I’m hoping to visit Gina’s store some day.
Really beautiful. It shows how much time you put into it. Amazing
I love the colors you have used here, so vibrant
Simply gorgeous!
Amazing as usual! I love the state of your crayons in the last picture – shows how used and loved they are! Mine are still way too long! (Ooops!)

Beautiful projects! Your pencil stubs are almost as small as mine 😉
Hi Kathy! I loved seeing how your beautiful and bright watercolor became “WOW! Stunning!” Its those little things that really make the difference, right?
Question, on this 10th year event, do you need to add your coloring to your site, blog, etc…is there another way to win? My coloring is no where–yet.
Thanks! G-d Bless you.
Traci Starkweather
Both flowers are jaw-droppingly beautiful!!
What a difference. Incredible to see the beauty from the fine lines, shading, details. What an artiste!
Since you showed nooks and crannies I have been trying to be more attentive. I use the clip board from the Road Trip at Lawn Fawn all the time. The Hints help me every time!
The flowers are stunning, as always. Thanks for always encouraging us.
Thanks for showing us the progression of your coloring. It really makes a difference seeing how each addition added to the flowers. Your Peonies are amazing.

Looks so fantastic
These are spectacular. It is amazing what a difference the details make to the images. They really pop. Thank you for sharing Kathy.
It is always amazing to see how you even “enhance” so gorgeous pieces, which I found wonderful even before already! 🙂
Kind regards from stempelfrida
I think your colouring is amazing – and it amazes me that it can get even better by adding some nook and cranny details! Glad you had fun with Gina K!
WOW!!! Wish I could have been there! I especially love the peonies!!!!!!

It’s great to see your commitment to this 30 day challenge regardless of having computer issues. Love your coloring
Wow! The peonies just pop off of the paper. Gorgeous.
Wonderful colouring!
I think Kathy that that colouring and how to colour the nooks and crannies the best tip ever is I have received from anyone. Everytime I colour I put my image aside and watch it from different angels to see where it needs to be coloured in the nooks and crannies.
I can’t thank you enough for that.
Both images are stunning. The colours of the first one are beautiful, the stamp is awesome! And your second image is simply gorgeous!
I saw on Instagram that the weekend at Gina was great, you where in wonderful companie.
Thanks for todays fabulous post, happy colouring and “see” you tomorrow.
I am so glad that you found the tip helpful. It really does make a big difference. 🙂
What an absolutely HUGE difference this makes!! WOW, what an effect!! I bet everyone on the Road Trip was thrilled to see these types of things in person! I SO wish I had a shop nearby that was hosting!
You cease to amaze me Kathy!
It’s really awesome what the tinniest bit of added color in the nooks and crannies does. Thank you for the continued inspiration Kathy
I love all the nooks & crannies you did & the second one where you added the black. I don’t do it all the time but there are times when I do that too. I can see how it adds that little somethin’ somethin’ to the coloring. I’ll bet everyone had fun. I know I would have if I was there. I love all the colors you used & the stamps you used to. Great job, Kathy!
Wow Kathy! You are creating pieces of art with your coloring!
Xoxo Olga
Gorgeous card. Your coloring is fabulous. Thanks for the tips.
wow… the shading does really makes the flower ‘pop’! Stunning!
Beautiful! It’s amazing how adding the shading really gives it so much depth and makes everything pop!
That Gina K flower stamped imaged looks scrumptious. I loved seeing your pencils sharpened on each end. I think I will give that a try when mine are short. It would
be nice to flip the pencil and have another sharp end without having to get up and
sharpen.
its gorgeous!
Fabulous colors
I never tire of seeing how amazing those additions with pencil crayons then remembering the nooks & crannies need extra love to will look.on any of your art by the time you’ve finished with them. It can from what you’ve shown me over the time totally make or break the work. Another fabulous picture from you
Wow, adding the pencil details to the nooks and crannies makes your gorgeous work look so stunning! The before and after pics are so helpful, I loved your majestic peonies with the markers and pencils and then nooks and crannies photos. The water colored bouquet details with pencils really made those individual flowers pop. LOVE!
Wow, such a difference with the additional layers! I know you have shown us the levels before but it WOWS me each time! Truly amazing. I like the watercolor and then the enhancement you did on it at Gina K’s store. Both are beautiful! How do you do the nooks and crannies (it makes me think of Thomas English Muffins! hee hee hee)???
Heehee! 🙂
Hi Kathy, you have really mastered the art of combining different mediums to achieve the look you’re after. And by the look of those pencils, I think it’s about time you ordered a fresh supply of Chamelion coloured pencils lol.

Wow, what gorgeous Gina K stamps. I love your tips for enhancing!
BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL – WOW!
It is amazing the transformation that taking the time to put the extra details in the nooks and crannies makes, well worth every minute. Dare I confess that I am a little nervous taking that next step, worried that I will wreck what I have already coloured, I know I shouldn’t, as I can always make a new one and will learn so my by just doing it … MORE to add to my TO-DO list 🙂
I’ve been so busy keeping up with my DT projects and Christmas preparations that I haven’t been pushing that extra step with my colouring, hoping that December will bring some “FREE” creative time where I can practice all the CREATIVE tips you have shared!
Love the intense colors on both projects!!
“Nooks and Crannies” is an expression that will always remind me of you! 😀
