Hello Friends, Happy Weekend to you! Funny how weekends are always on the short side.Either way I hope yours is going exactly the way you want it to be.
Today it was nice to decompress and take some time off of Thanksgiving prep. Hopefully tomorrow I will get the table set and ready.
On another note …. isn’t this a cool stamp? It’s really fun to color… have you heard of The Rabbit Hole Designs? They have some really fun and whimsical stamps.
One of my top 10 coloring tips is to fill in the nooks & crannies and there are a lot of those in these bows.
Before coloring anything with pencils I think a huge time saver is to color a first layer of marker. It doesn’t need to be fancy or good .. just get some color on and it will help define what you are coloring. I always suggest a light color or E50! Once your first layer of color is down you can add more color with LINES & a very sharp tip using pencils. I sharpen often to keep that tip nice and sharp. A loose grip and relaxed hand will keep you from breaking the pencil tip.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for your visit. Hugs, Kathy
P.S. There are 3 ways to share what you are coloring. If you want to join a community of coloring enthusiasts I recommend Instagram or FaceBook . Be sure to tag me and use the hashtag #thedailymarker30day. Kids & young adults use #thedailymarker30daykids.

Thank you for the tip. Never thought of it. Stunning colouring and what a gorgeous image. Hope you and your family have a great thanksgiving.
Stunning Coloring and a beautiful selection of blues. I love this image. Thank you for sharing.
Oh my goodness!!! Your colouring is simply breathless!!!
Wow, your pencils are nice and sharp. Do you have a special pencil sharpener that you like to use?
This is so pretty. Hope we see it when you have it finished. Really love the blues you have used. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! TFS
What an amazing stamp! I love all the bows. One thing I have learned from your coloring projects is the combination of markers and pencils and how beautiful it is. I decided that pencils best fit my budget and believed that with practice I would improve. I think that adding some markers as base colors would be a great idea. Do you have any advice on choosing shades to work with pencils?
I adore those bows, Kathy, and the pencil makes all the difference!
What a pretty stamp. I love what you’re doing with it. It’s the same with acrylic painting… start with an undercoating. Thanks for the great tips. Enjoy the rest of your day… and the rest of your week so you can enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well! And thanks so much for your note. 🙂
Such a gorgeous stamp, thank you for the tip!
Love this stamp set from rabit hole design’s… Beautiful bow…. Pink n blue shades. ❤️
Stunning stamp, beautiful colours & start to your colouring, thank you for the advice. We don’t seem to have any outlets in the UK that sell The Rabbit Hole Design stamps as yet, which is a great shame x
Thank you so much. Their designs are beautiful aren’t they? I don’t know if you do any online shopping but Simon Says Stamp carries them and will ship to the UK! 🙂

So pretty!
THIS IS such a NICE stamp, Kathy! THIS is one of the reasons I enjoy your posts during the coloring challenge & at other times too. You show us NEW COMPANIES that we otherwise wouldn’t even know of! A SUPER TIP about keeping a loose grip & relaxed hand with the pencils too! (I do forget this part sometimes! LOL I just get so excited with how my piece is coming along….) 😉 The sun is finally out here! The clouds & rain are gone for now, but will soon return. It is a BEAUTIFUL DAY & A BLESSED WEEKEND HERE! HUGS DEAR FRIEND!!! 😉 <3
Thank you so much for your kind words. It is fun to discover new companies isn’t it? Take care! 🙂
Great tips, I have never tried this! I LOVE how these bows are turning out!
Kathy, I love it. Did you use a yellow marker to outline or is that the E50…or is that a yellow pencil?
These bows look so real gorgeous
Love this!!
So beautiful!!
Beautiful choice of colors, and of course your technique
Love these pretty bows! Great stamp! And they look fantastic… so much dimension!
Holy smokes Kathy, those bows are fantastic!!! You are a master
What a fun bouquet of bows!
Wow! So pretty! The colored pencils really made the bows pop! Love!
What a fun stamp to color! It’s gorgeous. I’m currently mass producing Christmas cards, which is why I’m not posting anything. I’m stamping, embossing , ink blending the background and copic coloring the image–very time consuming but the cards should be good when I’m done
Blue is my favorite color. Loving your bows!!
WOWZA! the coloring is just stunning! Just added E50 to my wish list. Marker first, then pencil… BRILLIANT! That IS a beautiful stamp!!!
Great tips and that is going to be beautiful!!! Never heard of those stamps but sure like that one.
Absolutely stunning, as always! And that is a cool stamp. I’m very impressed with your cooking skills (as shown on IG) and how you’re well planned with Thanksgiving. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Wow!! This is a Stunner!!! What a Beautiful stamp!!
Love this image!! Your coloring is so beautiful!
Wow! These bows look amazing. Sooo beautiful
This looks amazing! TODAY, I will try using markers and then sharp pencils, in my attempt to be fearless.
Great tips! I have to keep remembering to sharpen my pencils often. Love this whimsical stamp!
I love the fun of shading the tiny images , a wonderful stress reliever ! Happy Thanksgiving to all who read this , Jesus Really loves you And so do I .
So pretty. Love the blue combo you’ve used.
Hi Kathy! This is beautiful! It’s seems like a simple image. (One bow is colored somewhat like the rest.) You elevated it into a rich and elegant piece of art. I wish this image came on a color-able ornament!
Is it possible for you to translate these colors to Copic numbers? It is so lovely, and I just bought 50 new markers! My husband gave me it for my birthday—all on his own, without hints!
Such a fun stamp! Pretty coloring.
Beautiful bows. I love the pencil added to the copic coloring
I’ll have to check out the copic coloring.
WOW! Super. This technique is one that I love the most.
What a cute stamp! I love the blues you chose.
Wow!!! This is just spectacular and I never even think to use markers and colored pencils together. You rock Kathy!
WOW!! What amazing coloring. Those bows look so real!!
Gorgeous stamp Kathy and gorgeous colouring. Nooks and Crannies that’s the first thing I learned from you. It makes such a difference.
I still have to try out your tip about using a light marker under the pencil colouring.
Thank you for your post today, hope all your yummy cooking will turn out great, happy colouring and “see” you tomorrow.
I appreciate the tips on coloring with pencils. I practice but it doesn’t come close to yours. Putting marker down first is a great tip!! I love this stamp!! It is adorable!!!
This is a darling stamp. What you’ve done is already so pretty, so can’t wait to see the finished product.
great tips – thanks for sharing your expertise with us:)
This is going to be so beautiful when it’s finished! Do you think stamping on a pale-coloured paper would have the same effect as the first layer of marker?
I wanted to add my sincere thanks to you, Kathy, and “helpers” (Patti). I received my lovely prize in the mail: some stamp sets, a fun pouch and a charming little banana. So cool to win such great prizes. Thanks so very much to you. As I’ve said several times, I always love the coloring challenge and now I love it even more. Thanks.
Kathy, you surpassed everything I could imagine as far as this stamp goes.. All I can do is stare at your progress so far. It is so true sharp sharp point pencil makes for the best when adding in all the details, everything nook’s and cranie’s, fur, shading, everything.. Thank you for being the best teacher an introvert like me can have.
And Thank YOU for your kind words. 🙂
Kathy you are a name dropper extraordinaire… I have not heard of this company either. I love these bows so much, it’s going to be wonderful.
Even with two football games I want to watch and a friend I’m going to visit in the hospital, I wouldn’t miss learning from you for anything.
Such gorgeous colors. Thanks for sharing
Wow just stunning how the pencil looks.
Beautiful! I didn’t know this stamp existed. I will definitely be checking out their other stamps. Happy Thanksgiving
Beautiful bows and I definitely trying your tip using marker first and then colored pencil. So pretty!
Your bows turned out so pretty, thanks for sharing your tips, so valuable!
This is absolutely a stunner. The pencil colors add different dimension and very detailed strokes to the image.. This is a must try..
Another great tip! Thank you.
Love this method. You solved my problem of white paper showing when I didn’t want to press hard. Yay!
Kathy, you always amaze me with your talents and wonderful coloring techniques. Loving the tips and hints that you include…like how not to break the pencil tips! This is so beautiful and realistic!
Absolutely stunning!!
Thanks for the terriffic coloring tip!
Wow – this is beautiful Kathy! I love the blues you used here! Gorgeous stamp too and thank you for the tips with marker, then pencil!
WHAT a beautiful stamp and I’m just so in love with this technique!! Thanks for sharing the fountain of wisdom in that beautiful mind of yours!!
Those blues are dreamy. I must remember the marker first tip! Thank you for all the inspiration!
Looks so fantastic and I love all the colors, did you just ❤️❤️❤️
I never think to use a layer of copic before I start on my pencil colouring. I must give it a try as it sure makes a difference with colouring and your nooks and crannies advice has certainly improved my finished work. Love the bows
Oh, those nooks and crannies. I am trying so hard to get in the habit of doing that….getting there. Thanks for the name of this lovely company, which I have already h checked out. Between your colouring and your mouthwatering cooking and Road Trips, I don’t see how you do it, but please don’t stop!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family.
Thanks for the tips. This is gorgeous so far!
Beautiful co!outing Kathy and such a pretty stamp too. No I hadn’t heard of that brand before but I’m off to check them out now!
WOW, love these beautiful blue bows and thanks for tip to use marker to color for base layer, especially during holidays when we are in a time crunch!
What a before and after the photo depicts. The pencil fineness on the head start color makes it so rich and so worth doing. You’re a star.
I love the colors you chose for this!
SO beautiful
Thank you for the awesome tips Kathy! Very helpful ❤
Love the added pencil detail!
Thanks for all the inspiration you are giving us.
What an amazing stamp! You colored it beautifully
Swoon! Those blue bows are amazing! Definitely need to try that tip. Thanks
I love the way you colored the bows & your advice about using marker first & then colored pencils is a good one, something I never thought to do. I’ll have to try that. I always make sure my pencils are sharp. However, I have colored pencils from the 60’s that I have sharpened a few times & one of them keeps breaking when I sharpen it. Is that because it’s so old? We had color by numbers back then & I didn’t use up all the pencils. I just got a 150 box of Prismacolor Premium colored pencils from Dick Blick for $34! Someone at Dick’s made a mistake & I found out about it & was able to get them. Score! I used some today & I love them! I was so glad I got them when I did. You probably already have them.
Oh wow, this is so pretty
Thanks for the tip and The beautiful blue colorful stamp
Wow! This is stunning!!!
This is such a fun stamped image and you colored it up to be amazing! I’ve never thought to use colored pencils along with marker coloring but can’t wait to try it out myself
This is gorgeous! Kathy, you always amaze me with your coloring <3
Puuhhh! What a job! Looks fabulous!
Kind regards from stempelfrida
I have to admit when I color I often do it dark and then don’t add the pencils but I plan to incorporate this style soon! A light wash of color is a great tip! Thanks for such tips and I like the bows; such brilliant blues!
Gorgeous coloring on the bow
What a great tip! Filling the nooks with lighter shade creates realistic shadow on the bunch of ribbons, brilliant! Pinning this page.
GORGEOUS!
I LOVE my Copics and I am AMAZED at how pencils can TRANSFORM an image even further and give a great texture too … getting my sharpener ready for a workout 🙂
