Hello Friends! How are you today? Today’s stamp, “Geode” is from Concord & 9th and it’s such an easy color PLUS it’s fantastic for those masculine cards that we have to create from time to time lol. I just noticed the die cut and promptly added it to my cart. I struggle with those masculine cards and this is a no brainer.

We are lucky enough to have a little lake house that we have had for more than 18 years so … often we are away on the weekend. Fortunately, I rummaged up a paint brush so I could paint this geode. I have been wanting to color this stamp for a very long time.
The Geode was watercolored with one of Lydia’s splits . Thankfully I remembered to throw it in my little to go box.
Have you ever seen a geode that has crystals …. a fuzzy look in the center? In the short video I show you how I tried to duplicate that look. Let me tell you it was so satisfying. I had some Flower Soft Ultra Fine from ages ago and it worked like a charm. Naturally glitter would work lovely too.
One layer of glitter was the perfect accent and easy to apply with a glue that has a small nozzle or tip. I didn’t want to go overboard with the glitter.
On another note I have to say it again you all ROCK!
See you tomorrow. Hugs, Kathy

Whoa! This looks so realistic!
Stunning effect.
My grandchildren love geodes, and I admit it’s fun when they break them and are in awe of the patterns. This project is wonderful — I’ve never seen anything like it. I love the glitter and the Flower Soft (I think I have some in my stash too). I, too, struggle with masculine cards and this project is perfect.

Your geode looks so realistic, especially with that center layer. Love seeing what you do.
Kathy, I can’t believe how real you have made it look!!!
AWESOME…..
That is pretty cool!! My daughter-in-law would love that!! I’m going to try to do that. It’s fabulous!!!
I must admit – this doesn’t excite me but you can make even a rock look good! 🙂
Yes, a great card for guys!
This is so cool! My husband and I recently spent three weeks in Santa Fe NM. We bought two of these geodes for our granddaughters. One was purple and the other was a gorgeous raspberry pink. They love collecting rocks and were so pleased with the new additions to their collections. I love flower soft, been using it for a long time. Nicely done…
Fun project!
That is SO cool!! Love the colors in this.
This is such a unique image , so well done !
How delightful to see something so different. And, of course, Kathy you did an exceptional job.
I saw this on OG and loved how you created it. Wow.

Oh my goodness. I have seen geodes, but absolutely couldn’t begin to color one. Fabulous. You are so inspiring. Thank you.
Fabulous, great work with geodes, love the glittery touch!
I love your Geode card! I have an actual one, a small one & it’s purple on the inside. It is the coolest thing ever! To think that God created that & I get to have one. Your card looks like a real geode & that’s so cool! If you know me, I would have gone overboard with the glitter but then again, my mom would not have loved all that glitter everywhere! LOL It’s a beautiful card for sure. You always come up with something different, that’s for sure!
Very clever and YES, I love crystals or anything sparkly!!!
Oh wow, this looks just like one my brother has! Wonderful colouring!
I love the colours you’ve used for this and the glitter goes so well!
Fabulous colouring Kathy, and a great idea using a Geode for a male card….always something I find tricky to make too …. love the added ‘crystals’ too
You are so creative!! The glitter and texture makes the Giode so realistic!!
So so cool with that structure!
Kind regards from stempelfrida

Seriously I’ll never look at rock Stamps the same way again. You really brought it to life. My son is a rock collector – in fact I still have all his from when he moved out for college lol. Thanks for the gorgeous inspiration.
SO GORGEOUS!! And the colors of daniel smith paints you picked are so perfect for this stamp. I may have to go order this one now. I love the techniques you shared here! Thank you!
Love the texture you created on this! So pretty and fun.
A geod! I would never have even thought of looking for a stamp like that period I especially like the 2nd card were e.g. Used the glitter because to me that was my favorite part of a geod….the shiny part!
Girl’s gotta have a little bling! Lol!
This geode look is so cool, off to watch the video.
The final product is gorgeous and life like!
This is AMAZING!!! Did you know geodes are a trend in cakes too??
This would make an awesome masculine card. I is beautiful and unusual.
Such a cool idea!!
This is great, I love texture on cards, it gives a little extra sparkle!
I love geodes. Now I think I need this stamp and try this myself. I can see so many color options!
I love this stamp set. I saw it and wasn’t sure but yours has sold me on it. LOL!!
I love this card. This is a stunning. The touch of sparkle is perfect.
I would never have even thought about getting this stamp until I saw your gorgeous creations! That bit of fuzz and sparkle really makes it.
Fabulous!! The added glitter really added the perfect finished touch.
Every time I see the “geode” I think about an “early American braided rug”. 🙂
I love how you pulled in the glue to add such a realistic touch. YOU rock!
Love how you added the glitter. 🙂
That geode is too cool! I love how you embellished it, but it’s still a perfectly “guy” kinda card!
Love this gorgeous geode coloring, the Flower Soft gives an awesome texture!
I struggle with male theme card too. This is a brilliant idea.

Absolutely stunning, I love the glittery addition!
Love this, looks so real!
Such a fab and creative project! Thanks for sharing this inspiration.
So cool! I wouldn’t have thought to add glitter like that. It gives it such a wonderful texture!
How ingenious! Who would’ve thought a corn cob holder could be used to recreate the texture in a geode?! Love it!
Its beautiful!
This looks like fun to color 🙂 !
W O W – this is PURE MAGIC!
