Hello Friends, How is it going? Weekends have a new meaning right? Spring is in the air (for most of you) and I hope you all get some fresh air and a good dose of hope and joy!
Can you believe it’s day 28? I took a poll on Instagram to see if I should continue with the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. YES!!! Starting April 7th we will dive back in. Woo Hoo I am so thrilled that coloring is helping so many of us during this time.
I wanted to give you an update on No Kid Hungry fundraiser incentive.
$3,490.00 plus the match from Citi = $6,980.00 Wooo Hooo thank you!!
Today I am using one of Alex Syberia’s beautiful designs. It’s a digital print! Using digital images has opened up a new world of possibilities. Larger scale images are my jam and I never knew how to get the digital prints onto watercolor paper since watercolor paper doesn’t go through my printer. In the book Modern Botanicals I learned that this was a possibility. This was the first time I did this technique in this post.
The paints are Daniel Smith and from Lydia’s split group.
It’s night time so I wasn’t able to hold this up to the window. No problem. I lightly rested the image on my light with the 140lb. watercolor paper on top. I gingerly traced the image with a pencil.
It doesn’t need to be perfect … never ever! Printed image enlarged on the left and the traced image on the right.
I like to paint the background first. Then I add a layer of color on top of the pencil. This helps me define where the leaves and petals and lemons are!
Praying that you all are healthy and happy. Thank YOU for your visit!! Hugs, Kathy

Cathy, is there any way you could show us how to print two images up on a page for card making? I color different images and I would like to use them for cards but it gets expensive and wasteful to print a single image on each page. I haven’t been able to figure out how to print two images up on a page in either Photoshop Elements or Pages on my MAC. Just curious. thanks as always for sharing.

What is the comment about if “Life gives you lemon’s, make lemonade” or something like that. Very pretty.

You can pick up a light box for tracing your drawings onto watercolour paper at Amazon for under 25$. I’m surprised how often I use mine for different things. Thanks for all your happy inspiration.

Woo hoo! Congrats on the donations!!! And thanks for the tips about watercoloring paper and digital images! My printer takes watercolor paper but the ink bleeds
I’m so glad you are continuing the challenge as it helped me out of my funk!

Gorgeous Kathy. Not too long ago I discovered how easy it is to have digital stamps. Certainly if you see a beautiful stamp set but have to have it sent internationally, a stamp will soon be very expensive and I will not do that. Digi is the answer. Beautiful stamps at a nice price.
I have a mix media paper from Canson that can be used with all kind of mediums and that goes well in my laser printer. And what perhaps is easier for you than drawing with the light of your window, draw on a light pad.
I love that you will contineu and I will go on too!
Thank you so much for sharing, happy colouring, stay safe & healthy and see you tomorrow.

So happy the donations are continuing! Yay!
I love this site, it sure is a day brightener. We need to balance our concern for these trying times with a conscious effort to remain positive and try to keep our mental health from plummeting into depression. It’s not sticking your head in the sand by doing things that make us feel good. It’s taking card of our body and soul!
Thank you Kathy for the upbeat posts and encouragement!

“care’ not “card” of our body and soul. LOL

This is definitely my favorite!! I love lemons, so fresh and smells so good! I have a problem with getting watercolor paper in my printer too and there are so many artists (especially Alex!!) that have beautiful digis. I love your technique and I am going to try it tomorrow!!

Beautiful!! This is a great tip on how to get digi images on watercolor paper! I’ve done the same idea for paper piecing on digi images, but wouldn’t have thought about it for this!

Brilliant! I love this tip on digital images. I have many beautiful digital images, but got frustrated (and wasteful) trying to get appropriate papers through my printer. This is the answer. Thank you!

You do a background. A lot of people do. I don’t although the way I see what you did & what some people do I may have to rethink what I do. I have a lot of Digi’s, probably enough until the day I die & then some! However, I have a non working printer at the moment & HP is kind of on hiatus so it’s hard to get it fixed. I just bought new ink cartridges & they are just barely used. I’d go out & buy a new printer but I found out my printer is no longer being made! What do I do with those brand new cartridges? I have some of the most amazing Digi’s, some that I bought & some that were freebies. I want to be able to use them! Okay, I have ranted enough. My problem will be fixed & soon I hope! I love your lemons & guess why? Yeah, you guessed right! Yellow is my favorite color in the whole wide world!
