Hello Friends, How are you? Hanging in there? Experiencing mixed emotions or exhausted? I am here for you and we will get though this I promise! Thank for for sharing how important coloring is for you right now and that coloring is a de-stressor. If that is true for you it’s essential to make the time to color.
As most of you know even though the last 30 Day Coloring Challenge ended a week ago it was important to continue coloring. I took a short break and we have a bright citron green logo to reflect this new challenge.
“The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge” is a great way to bring some calm into your life. Coloring is proven to lower the blood pressure! I encourage you to schedule ten minutes a day for YOU to let the stress melt away. Some people color in books, doodle, use stamps or color with ink or fiber. Pencils, markers or paints yes please!
Welcome to DAY ONE of the 16th coloring challenge!! As you know my mantra has always been to find that 10 minutes in your busy day for some “me time”to color. It’s more important now than ever to find that 10 minutes then it is to finish. What I did here is unfinished and that’s ok and I encourage you not to finish.
“Your Only Limit Is Your Mind” I felt like this was very fitting for me right now … to keep my head on straight and try to live in the moment rather than focus on the future. Worry gets me no where.
This was inspired by Derek Hough. My sister showed me this and I was like wow. It will be fun to pick this up throughout the challenge and see where it goes.
PLEASE NOTE: This will be the only 30 Day Coloring Challenge that I will NOT be posting daily on my blog but, will post a few times a week instead. I will post daily on Instagram. (Even though the posts are generally short I am up late almost every night so my post is ready the next day.) So for this challenge I will give myself a break from the daily posts.
If this is your first time don’t be hard on yourself and jump in when time permits. If you have any questions about the coloring challenge you can refer to this post . If you want to get my posts in your mailbox you can sign up here or subscribe to my videos here.
Since this is Day 1. It’s a tradition to mention something that I think is very important and I like to mention it every challenge … our posture! When coloring take pause and think if you can lift your gaze and straighten you back. Using a clip board helps you prop up your project so you aren’t bending over (you can prop the clip board on a stack of books).
I can not wait to see what you all are coloring. Woo Hoo!! You all inspire me so much!!
There are 3 ways to share what you are coloring. If you want to join a community of coloring enthusiasts I recommend FaceBook or Instagram. On Instagram it’s about community, connecting & a great place to share what you are coloring. Tag me,Kathy and use the hashtag #thedailymarker30day. Children #thedailymarker30daykids.
The 3rd way is to link up to my blog to share your coloring. It will always be on todays post…DAY 1. each day I will link you back click here to share your coloring.

P.S. If you want to share the logo (at the top of the post) when writing your blog post or on Facebook etc. that would be lovely & so appreciated!

Happy to see you today! I am going to put my coloring on hold for a few hours, I was outside raking my yard and I need to stretch out a bit! I am happy to be outdoors even though I am not going anyway…can this doodle be by THE Derek Hough? The amazing dancer Derek Hough? I am very curious how you will work this one. I’ll be watching you.

My 79 year old mother had a stroke 2 months ago and has lost complete use of her right side. She was obsessed with adult coloring books and colored every dsy, for hours. She misses it so much! She’s still in rehab but I hope to find some ways that she can continue with a creative outlet.
Kathy Racoosin says
I’m sorry to hear about your mother and hope she can get back to creating. Take care
Bunny Dobbie says
Hi Kathy. Hope you are ok. Haven’t heard from you in a while and started to worry. Hugs

Healthy here and that is good right? I hope you are well.

Hey Kathy, sorry I am so late to the party! I love your doodles & what you did. I’m coloring because what else can we do? I’m making 3 birthday cards & a late card for a swap. Actually the birthday cards will be late but hey, that just extends the birthday, right? Mine was on the 21st but no celebrating this year. Maybe when this thing is finally over, someday. I heard they cancelled Octoberfest in Germany! If I have to wait that long I will go stir crazy! Sorry about the rant. My brain is turning to mush!

My sister, the middle child, was always and still is an artist. I grew up thinking that I couldn’t do art.
I was wrong! I love stamping, coloring, foiling, embossing, now this water color is a new Whew for me! I will be painting my second piece today. So happy!
Thank you for your inspiration Kathy!
