Hello Friends, It’s me again. Are you getting tired of my posts? I will keep this one short and sweet. It’s harder to keep up with the challenge on the weekend.
This is my illustration and it was fun painting circles to make the background more interesting.
I found this outside so wondering what the name was I put my request to my friends on Instagram. Never have I seen a bloom like this before although my sister says I have lol.
So this is a Poplar tree bloom how gorgeous right!
Running around my kitchen I found a few items to trace for circles on my background.
Spice jar lid just the right size. Hopefully I will finish this up soon.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I will see you tomorrow! Hugs, Kathy

NEVER going to be tired of your posts … today, you’ll have us all running to our local nurseries to see if we can plant that tree in our own yards!
You are amazing, Kathy – you’ve illustrated this Tulip Poplar bloom beautifully! Can’t wait until you bring it to life!

I have never seen a Tulip Poplar bloom either and they are beautiful. Love your idea of circles just perfect for the background. Excited to see the end result. If you want to see another unique bloom check out the Dragon Fruit bloom. They are dinner plate size and only bloom at night. I have many plants.

Can’t wait to see it finished. Looks so amazing already. The Arbor Foundation, which we belong to, offers this tree every once in a while. Might have to consider it on their next offer. See you soon.

Well I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of those before, & I don’t have a sister to disagree with me hehehe. It’s stunning, looking forward to seeing your version of it complete with sorry background. I’ve got no drawing done today but I have managed to do a lot of sewing repairs to various items of family clothes & a dog cuddly bear, so creative in a different way. Stay safe, healthy happy & show us the finished results please when ready x

I have never heard of a poplar tulip bloom. The poplars here in Alberta, Canada are mostly the kind that release a lot of poplar fuzz which can literally white out our lawn in spring/ early summer. Our house backs onto a forest so we get a lot of fuzz. Not nice to draw! Your bloom will be lovely as usual. Like your background.

Thank you

So clever with your circles. At my former house we had a tulip poplar. It didn’t bloom for a few years and then just on the top limbs. Last summer it was covered with these beauties. Thanks for your ideas.
