Hello Friends! Welcome to Day 20. I hope you all had a good weekend and were able to re-charge your batteries a little bit or fully charge those batteries!
Lots of cooking for me this weekend and I had to help my hubby design some graphics so it was much harder to see what you all were coloring this weekend. I managed to finish this painting staying up into the wee hours of the night.
If you happened to spy my rose gold brush I wanted to try a set of smaller brushes for adding detail. This is a set of three brushes for travel. I like using travel brushes because the tips are protected and last so much longer for me. The paper block is Arches.
Adding shadows on this is something I am considering but, not sure.
Late last night after I was finished painting the bloom/pod or whatever it is … I realized that the pod was different. I had to reference my photo to see if I was going crazy. Fortunately I wasn’t!
My goal of the illustration and the painting was not to replicate it but, to use it as inspiration and have fun with it.
That’s it for today I will see you tomorrow and thank YOU for your visit. Hugs, Kathy

Kathy I love what’s happening to the real bud… I dry Hydrangeas in my basement to have around the house – they get more beautiful every year, drying to a pale gold.
LOve your illustration of this amazing Tulip Poplar bud!

Super glad you got lots of bits done this weekend, we had a visitor so craft time was zero all weekend & Monday I had lots of sewing repairs to finish. Creative streak on hold but did manage to talk through several ideas for a card with visitor as she’s a fantastic painter. Flower pod coming on amazingly, roll on the huge reveal. Stay healthy and happy x
Kathy Racoosin says
Love that you talked to the visitor about ideas!
