Hello Friends! Welcome to Day 27. How was your weekend? It was sooo hot for us East Coasters!
This is a big background stamp with such beautiful “Loosely Line Flowers” from My Favorite Things. Such a beautiful background stamp to get inky with, paint or color.
This pretty palette is from Sylvan Clayworks and I love using it because it’s just the right size. I drop in the color that I will be using to paint my background.
Working in sections I paint the background. I am very careful for the brush to touch each line of the section I am painting for a polished look.
Painting around the stamen can be loose and doesn’t have to be precise.
Once the background was completely dry I outlined the stamen with a marker.
Using a grey Karin marker I added some highlights. That’s it for today and I am looking forward to finishing this up tomorrow. Stay tuned for another giveaway. Hugs, Kathy

Thanks so much Linda
Beautiful! I’ve been wanting to give background painting a try, and you’ve inspired me (although I think I’ll avoid images with stamens!). I feel your pain with the heat. It’s been pretty brutal here in Texas, too (the humidity is suffocating). Hopefully relief is coming soon.
I’m so glad you will give it a try!
