Day 28. Dots & Lines Plus GIVEAWAY

Hello Friends! Welcome to Day 28. Oh my goodness it’s Day 28. Are you all feeling the same way I am?  Hopefully another giveaway will put a skip in your step? More on the giveaway at the bottom of my post.

Yesterday I shared a few tips on painting a large stamped background with this beautiful “Loosely Lined Flowers” from My Favorite Things. This is my ink of choice (that I always use) and my fav watercolor paper is this.

It always feels good to paint and to finish. One of my top 10 Coloring Tips are “Lines & Dots” and I feel if you aren’t fully happy when you are “finished” or want to camouflage something … line and dots will most likely do the job. Plus it’s fun!

The photo of the left is after painting. The photo on the right is after adding dots & lines.

Lots of time was invested in this painting and I felt it needed something more. I found my trusty black permanent marker and white gel pen and went to town.  Always start in the corner in case you need to tweak things by the time you get to the center you will have your flow going.

A few days ago I talked about skipping your paint brush over the area you are paining to create blanks spots. The photo of the left you see lots of unpainted areas. The photo on the right you can see dots on dots. After my white dots dried I added a black dots on top of some of the white dots.

    Very pretty, dots on dots, another great tip. Love learn so much on every challenge, please carry on posting them Kathy. I have to post MY FAV, because MFT were the very first company set I brought to see what I could do. It was the little set with mermaids in. It wasn’t new release I saw it & fell in love with it w a show, then I logged on to Sandy Allnock & an entire world opened up & distracted me from my conditions.     This is my Fave! I’m liking the flowers a l0t. I have a white gel pen but it doesn’t seem t0 work right. When I use mine it doesn’t seem to work, at least t0 me. Where can I practice with it as it’s white & my paper is white? I like how you always add something to your cards. I should do that. I never do that & I should. I love how your cards look when you do them & this one is no exception. Great job!

      A couple of tips on white pens — one is go very slowly when you use it. If you have trouble getting it to start write on your finger with it. Grab a piece of colored cardstock or a scrap and test it out on that.
