Hello Friends, How are you? It’s day 30!!! Gosh I can’t believe how the coloring challenges go by so quickly. Every single day I was so inspired with your creativity! You all have been so kind and supportive of the 30 day coloring challenges and I am so incredibly grateful!!!
THANK YOU for playing along even if it was for one day, all 30 days or if you were watching from the sidelines. Pat yourself on the back for coloring more than you normally would! I love hearing that some of you have noticed improvements in your coloring. Woo Hoo!
I want to give the Good Will Ambassadors a BIG shout out for spreading love on Instagram and or FB. So much gratitude for these lovely people!
Also a super big thanks to so many of you for being so active and supportive and encouraging in the FB group & Instagram.
I hope we were able to reach you and encourage you. Our community is the best and the most supportive people I have had the pleasure of knowing. Thanks to each of YOU for motivating me to do these challenges. Also a big thanks to Patricia who helps me with FB and Patti Leon who is on prize patrol.
*August 4th all winners will be announced so please check back to see if you won.
This sweet stamp set called, “Bundle Girl With Gardenia” is sooo precious and such an easy color. The sweet girl and gardenia were stamped with Warm Glow on some 140lb cold press watercolor paper. For my watercoloring I combined Daniel Smith with a few Karin watercolor markers.
My plan was to make a shaker card but, I didn’t have acetate long enough so I used double sided tape with glitter. I thought it might be neat to have glitter stripes behind the letters .
Paper curls yes please. If you have the right scissors you will be surprised how easy this is. I use these Fiskar scissors with an 8 inch blade all the time to trim my cardstock.
Save those strips that fall from your paper trimmer when you are cutting your paper. Paint the strip to coordinate with your card. Once it’s dry cut the thinnest strip possible with some large scissors. Your paper should curl as you are cutting it. If the paper doesn’t curl just roll the cut paper around a pencil or marker to get some curl.
You can glue behind the curl or tack it down with a sequin.
See you soon and thanks for everything!! All the visits, support, comments, etc!!! I will miss you! Hugs, Kathy

Dear Kathy,
I always love to participate but this time I had to do it from the sideline, I was hospitalized on day 5. The next day I had early in the morning lung surgery. The operation was successful but unfortunately the wound is not yet closed and so I have an air leak. As long as this is the case, I have a drain that ensures that my lung works and only when the lung works independently and the drain is out I can go home.
So now I have been in the hospital for almost 4 weeks.
Coloring is not going well here, so I just enjoyed all the wonderful things you and all the other participants have made.
Big thanks to the Good Will Ambassadors, Patricia, Patti and a special thanks to you for organizing the 17th 30 Day Coloring Challenge and showing your amazing artwork.
I hope there will be an 18th time and then I will definitely participate again.
Kathy Racoosin says
Oh my goodness Henriette. I am so sorry to hear that you have been through that. Hopefully things will heal up soon so you can go home. I’m so glad that looking at everyone’s creations bring you joy.
Henriëtte says
Thank you Kathy, stay safe my friend and have a great weekend.

Absolutely awesome, Kathy, thank you for another amazing challenge! July turned out to be an extremely tough month for me, so not much crafting sadly, but I still enjoying seeing what others were up to, and jumping in every now and again.
Hopefully it’ll get better for me next time 😉
Thanks for always being an inspiration, on so many levels!
Kathy Racoosin says
Hoping for a better August. And I’m glad you are enjoying seeing others’ projects.

Kathy, what a stunning thank you card. I owe you a huge thank it for the last 30 days, all that inspiration, motivation, tips & giveaway chances. Love the nifty idea with the spirals of card, another tip for my records. I have spent all of today till now at 3 pm (UK) enjoying myself painting more of my trial rainbow background, unfortunately not finished, & colours with markers. Pure luxury an entire day again to myself. Can’t wait for another 30 days challenge & seeing more posts from you. Till we do, watch your safety & health with this aweful virus but remain happy with your creativity everyone x

Thanks so much and stay healthy.

Dear Kathy –
Thanks for helping me get into the world of watercolors. With two sets of pen-brushes from Altenew and two sets of watercolor paint trays, I am on my way. I also thank you for putting some new stamp companies into my repertoire (and for motivating me to ask merch companies please to carry their lines). You’re an amazing artist. Take time for you this weekend!!

Beautiful card. Have loved seeing what goodies appear everyday. Going to miss it. That is unless you are going to do another one. I do have one question.. the background for your cards not necessarily the cards themselves how do you create them? There was something years ago using folded paper I think to create the same look . But I really don’t remember. Thank you so much for all the tips and showing how different effects can be achieved. Thank you.

Kathy, I have colored something every single day for the last 30 days. I swear I am calmer and less anxious for doing it. I color, usually, at nighttime and it helps me unwind from the news and stress of the day. This will now be a lifelong habit. Thank you so so much for your encouragement and the oh-so-beautiful inspiration. You are an amazing person and are doing such good work. Again….thank you.

Marisela Delgado says
Gorgeous card! Kathy, I am the lady who asked if your hand hurt with your tiny color pencils. You said that maybe I was pressing too hard. You are right. Even when I write a letter or color, I have always pressed hard for some reason. haha It’s just how I write. I do struggle with gripping little pencils, but that may be chubby hands. haha haha I know that you don’t remember me, but you sent me a card and stamp set 7 years ago. It arrived on a really bad day. I still have them, by the way. I was going through a horrible injury. I had cut a varicose vein while shaving my legs and it turned life-threatening. I went through BRUTAL pain for 7 years with so many injuries resulting from the initial injury. I am just now better. Your cards are always so gorgeous and have brought joy to hurting people like me. I still have your card and the stamps that you sent me. Thank you for always lifting my spirit. Marisela in San Antonio, Texas
