Hello Friends! How are you? Welcome to the Altenew + The Daily Marker Watercolor Therapy Blog Hop & Giveaway! If you are following The Daily Marker Coloring Challenge it’s Day 8!
To start at the beginning of the blog hop go to the Altenew Card Blog here. If you are coming from the Altenew blog you are in the right place … I am the second stop on the hop.
A big thank YOU to May for organizing this hop and to all of the amazing designers participating especially since they are so busy !! Thank you from the bottom of my heart I am honored.
LOTS of prizes with SEVENTEEN chances to win! You will find more details at the bottom of my post.
Just a reminder that this challenge will be only 11 days instead of 30. If you have questions about The Coloring Challenge you can refer to this blog post. If you are new to The Coloring Challenge a warm welcome to you. This is a great time to jump in and test the waters.
The new Altenew Woodless Watercolor Pencils are so lovely and have beautiful colors = win win! This was my first time using them and I really enjoyed painting with them!
“Happy Pomegranates” is one of my all time favorites stamps especially for watercolor. The fruit and leaves are nice and open so the water can flow within the fruit and leaves. Some stamps have such tight areas it can be frustrating to watercolor.
Last year I designed a wreath with Happy Pomegranates and this framed art piece (in the above photo). You can see the blog post here or watch the video here.
The framed Happy Pomegranates are propped up in my studio. I love creating a pattern with stamps.
Adding black to the nooks & crannies really makes your painting pop. My vintage crystal ashtray is perfect to hold a paint brush or watercolor pencil. My favorite way to use the pencils is to pick up the color from the pencil using a wet paint brush and dropping the color onto the paper.
The final detail is with some super sharp pencils. You can see the difference that makes on the right but, it’s not finished quite yet.
Once my stamping and masking was finished I drew some stems with a pencil.
Lucy’s Little Things are always the perfect sequin mix.

Beautiful coloring of the arrangement. I like how the black made such a difference. Can’t wait to try this. I always think I go too dark, so I’ll try to keep it closer to the shadows instead of spreading it all over.
