Hello Friends, Welcome to Day 2. How are you doing? Feeling the joy of coloring? I sure hope so I know I have a kick in my step.
Do you remember when I said it’s ok to not finish? This gorgeous image was watercolored a few weeks ago. Today I am adding a few details and some highlights and I still didn’t finish.
The first thing I like to do is add black! For some reason I always have to make my mark. If it’s an animal I have to make the eyes larger and on flowers I always have to make the stamens larger and darker with a black fine tip sharpie.
On another note Emilie Midgett is the illustrator of this gorgeous floral … she is so talented, beautiful and joyful!
Emilie was selling a small pack of her illustrations printed on watercolor paper. If you are interested I suggest contacting Emily here.
Once I make the stamens larger I add some dots with a white gel pen. Once the white has set I add a black dot with my sharpie marker on top of the white dot.
Dot on dots is a thing lol.
Can you tell I had time to enhance only two of the flower petals. The blue pencil is showing you where.
BUT ….updating this ….. because I was up late and finished the big flower. See below. I also added grey around part of the petals and little details on the stems. I will have to come back on a later day and finish the other flowers and leaves.
There are 3 ways to share what you are coloring. If you want to join a community of coloring enthusiasts I recommend FaceBook or Instagram. On Instagram it’s about community, connecting & a great place to share what you are coloring. Tag me,Kathy and use the hashtag #thedailymarker30day. Children #thedailymarker30daykids. The 3rd way is share what you are coloring is to link up to my blog . It will always be on the first day …. DAY 1.
Thank YOU for your visit today!. See you tomorrow! Hugs, Kathy
P. S. My class with Online Class with Online Card Classes has a ton of videos and really explains my cheats and coloring hacks. It’s called The Coloring Challenge Road Trip Online Edition ….. it’s only $20.00 and has over 12 videos, PDF’s with written instructions etc. Click here to see more details.

I love your dots on dots! I need to remember to take the time to add those details!
The details make all the difference.
My colouring books are usually in different stages of unfinished pieces. I colour what I feel like. I’m sure it was you that let me know this was ok. ♥️
Of course it’s ok! It’s what brings you joy.
You sure put in a lot of tender loving care into your art work!
Thanks. I enjoy it so much
Who knew what DOTS could do…. I love the addition of both black and white. Boy does that say a lot here. Can’t wait to see this one finished. Going over to Emily to check on those watercolor cards. TFS
Thanks!
Gorgeous image to keep working on. Thank you for the reminder that it’s ok to take your time.
Does my crafting a day cover sitting done to find something from your craft supply boxes then three hours later finding it but in the process tidying up your entire craft room & supplies ? Hope so as that’s been my crafting day lol.
It’s whatever brings you joy in crafting!

Oooo that is breathtaking!!! I am so enjoying the color challenge!! Thank you!!
So glad you are enjoying it
I like the enhancing of the blues on the flower. Good idea to give it depth and the dots on the center of the flower with the bl/white are a nice touch. 🙂
Thanks!
