Hello All, I hope your weekend is off to a good start even if the weather isn’t cooperating. Did you catch my post yesterday? I am so pleased and excited that I was able to finish. Woo Hoo!
In my post yesterday & today I am using the new Simon Says Stamp LARGE 6×9 stencil called, “I Like Small Dots” and honestly this project was such fun to paint.
What do you think of this? I was so curious how this was going to end up. Adding one color at a time helped guide me what color of Distress Oxides was next.
I started noticing that my scribbles or skipping within the circles was becoming more repetitive than random so I found myself to trying to keep it more spontaneous.
Here is a super quick example of the what I call “skipping” or scribbling. Let the brush do it’s thing and don’t try to cover the entire space.
Do you enjoy using Distress Inks or Distress Oxides more? I think I am a fan of the Oxide inks.

Copics!!!
Love how your dots turned out, so pretty!
Thanks!
Coloring with my Copics is like magic!
Your dots turned out so well!!!
Thank you!
Copics are still my go to for coloring. One Of these days I’m going to pull out my watercolors and see what happens.
Give it a try!
I have a small selection of Copic markers that are always pleasing. I also use Sharpie pens in many colors!

Yes you can!
I like Copics, but am not good with the shading.
Copics are my absolute favorites. Now I just need to sit down and use them for your challenge this go around.
Pull them out and have fun.
Favorite markers…hmmm…would have to be Copics.
They are amazing
I am loving how this turned out!
My favorite markers are Copic, but due to the price point, I am slowly switching to the Touch markers.
Enjoy whatever works for you!
Copic markers are my favorite, but I do have a bunch of Altenew’s Artist Markers, too!
They are both great markers.
Love the colorful dots! I’m awful at blending so don’t use my Copics as much and tend to gravitate toward my Tombow markers for easier watercoloring.
Tombow markers are fun
Copics are my favorite. Even though my set is not large I love playing and learning with them
You don’t need many to have fun and get great results!
I love Copics!
They are so fun
Your dots turned out beautifully, Kathy! I love the variation in colors! I usually grab Distress Inks myself! Choosing my favorite markers is hard. I have several sets and like them all for different reasons. Right now I’m enjoying the Tombow markers the most. Next week that could change.
Ha! That’s the beautiful thing. So many great choices.
I love my Zig Markers!
They are fun for sure
My small collection of Copic markers are my favorite.
And you don’t have to have a big collection which is great!
I have a small collection of copics, and I’m just starting to learn how to use them. I think I use the grays more than any of them. I like to use them on my die cuts to get rid of the harsh white line around the edge.
Great way to use them
My Copics!! I have all the colors and love them!
So fun right?
I hope someday to invest in Copic markers, but right now I use Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and Zig Clean Color Brush Markers. Thanks for the giveaway!
Those are great markers too
I love my copic markers!
So glad
Copics are my favorites. I am getting a little more proficient at them too!! I’ve tried other markers and pencils, but always go,back to my copics!
They are so much fun
I love your panel of dots! Such pretty colors!
I am loving my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers! I use them most often and love the assortment of colors I have.
There really are a lot of pretty colors in the line
My favorites markers are my Copics! although I still have so much to learn! I prefer Oxides for ink blending but I’ve only tried watercoloring with regular Distress inks. I like the vibrant colors. So that just means I get to have a full set of both types!
Full set syndrome! LOL
My favorite markers are my Tombow. I didn’t go
well with the Copics but have done better with
the Tombow. Also have the Zigs but don’t use
them as much. Love your dots.
thanks for sharing

Tombows are so fun to work with.
My current favorite markers are Karin!
They are so vibrant and beautiful
These turned out great. It almost looks like candy. I feel like I could pluck one off and pop it in my mouth. Lovely colors.
I like my Distress Oxides so much that I gave my Distress Inks to a good home.
Oxides are very versatile and beautiful for sure.
Copic sketch!
I love these dots!
Thanks!
Copics are my favorite markers-love their blendability and colors.
Your dot stencil is gorgeous-I’ll have to try this technique-thanks for sharing.
Thanks! Hope you will try it.
Favorite markers? That’s hard because I really love them all. I guess my top three would be Copics, Zigs, and Karins. Which one I love more depends on which one I’m using at the time!
Isn’t it wonderful to have so many good choices?
Copics are my favorite!
They sure are fun to use
Reaching for my Karin Brushmarkers more and more these days because of their bright, vibrant colors!
Their colors definitely are gorgeous
My favorite markers are Copics.
So fun to use.
What a colorful, fun project! I’m with you — I think I prefer Distress Oxide inks, but I have more colors of the Distress Ink cubes, so depending on my project I often use those. As for markers, since Copics are out of my price range, I’m been buying Spectrum Noir markers as I can, and I really like them. However, I do love my Tombo water based markers, too.
Sounds like you have some good choices to play with.
Copics are my fav!
They are great!
Copics are my favorite! But my son just gave me a box of spectrum noir Tri blend markers for my birthday and I like them too! Thanks for the chance to win!
Have fun playing with your new markers!
My favorite makers are Tombow. Sadly I don’t own any Copics. Thanks for the wonderful opportunity!
Tombows are very fun
I am still fairly new to Copics but so far I am head over heels for them! Thank you so much for all the inspiration and for the chance to win those great bags! I definitely need something to store my Copic collection in!
Glad you are loving them
Copics!
Fun choice
I love my copics! I did just try the Karin markers and those are fun – vibrant colors!
The colors are wonderful
I love my Copics!
So much fun
Hi Kathy! Love your dotty painting! My favorite markers are my Copics!
Thanks!
I love how rich and juicy the Oxide inks are too Kathy. I love my Copic markers. Your dots turned out so cool. Interesting how a simple pattern can be so pretty when watercoloured.
Thanks!
I like the way those white spaces look – adds a lot of interest! Copics are my markers of choice at the moment, but I do like my Zigs, too! 🙂 As to the Distress Ink/Distress Oxide Ink battle, I love both – Oxides more for backgrounds & for stamping, and regular Distress Inks for watercolouring 🙂
So many good choices
Wish I had Copics!! I love all coloring mediums!!! Love how this turned out!!
Thanks so much
Copics will always be the best. Love the dots!
Thank you
love my copics:)
Thanks for the chance
Thanks for stopping by
I only have a cheap set of alcohol markers, but I like using them. I woukd live to try Copics.
Well if you like them have fun with them!
Watercolor markers are my favorite, but I’m still learning how to color with Copic Markers.
Have fun practicing
Your dots art is gorgeous Kathy, love it!
What are you intend to do with it, will it be framed or do you put something on top of it and than frame it?
Recently I got Arrtx markers, I haven’t done much with them yet except make a color chart to see what colors they are. I need different paper to really play with them first.
Thank you so much for sharing and for the chance to win your awesome bags.
Stay safe and see you tomorrow.
Thank you!
I love my Copic Markers!
So glad
Most of the time Copics are my fave but sometimes I prefer using my Zigs!
They are both good options for sure
Love your dots, so beautiful!
My favourite markers are the karin brushmarkers
I love how vibrant the colors are
Copics are my favorites
They really are wonderful
Absolutely love this dot pattern. Just colored one with my blog colors last week. Sure could of used that stencil. ❤️❤️
I tried to watch your video on skipping, but it says it’s private. Is there any way to watch this technique?
I love those dots! Reminds me of a bag of pastel M & Ms! I have most of Stampin Up’s Alcohol Blends which I love & would like Copics but dont have any yet. I also love my Altenew Watercolor markers!
Now I’m hungry! LOL
I like how your dots turned out. I would never have thought of doing that for a background.
I don’t often don’t get a chance to use them, but my favorite markers are Copic Markers. I love the bright colors they have without overpowering the stamped lines.
They are wonderful markers for sure
Copics are my favourite, but I also have some Altenew pens as well! Love how your dots turned out!
Thanks!
Tie COPICS and Tombows.
It would be hard to choose.
I love how the dots turned out.
I have both Zig & Karen markers. I find the zigs easier to use but love the vibrancy of the Karen’s.
Thanks!
Copics are my favourite, followed closely by my Zigs.
Both good options for sure
I am still new to Copics and I also have Zig brush markers. The brush markers are a litlle easier for me but I think it’s just because I have used them longer. I am a work in progress when it comes to coloring. But, I am still working on it! I like a combo of distress and regular oxides.
There are so many good options these days.
I have a few Distress markers but other than that, my marker supply isn’t too great, lol. Thanks for the chance to win!
So you have fun with what you have!
I love Ohuhu markers because that is what I have. I love Distress oxides
Sounds like you have some good choices!
Copics!! Love this technique gotta try it!
Thanks!
Copics because they have great face colors 🙂
That’s true, they do!
I like my Copic markers even though I am a beginner.
So glad!
This stencil panel is so much fun! I still reach for my regular distress inks more often than the oxides, but they are a lot of fun to work with too. I tried Spectrum Noir markers, but for me, Copics work the best!
Thanks!
My favorite markers are Copics but I just purchased the metallic set of Karin markers and I’m looking forward to trying them. Thank you for this opportunity.
The metallic ones will be so fun!
Hi Kathy! Love, love, love your coloring!
I like Distress Oxides between the two types of ink and Copics. But I’m not good with markers yet unless the image is very small. Need lots of practice!
Practice is what helps us all! Have fun playing!
Shhh, don’t tell anyone, but the only markers that I have ever used are Crayola. No one laugh! Markers and I don’t get along. We fight and call each other names so I stick to color pencils.
Why would we laught? Hey, it’s all fun to play with!
I love this skipping technique and your finished piece is very cool
I really like Copic Markers!
Thank you!
I started out with Spectrum Noir markers, but I could never get them to blend well, so I gave up using markers for a very long time until I tried Altenew alcohol markers. So, I’m using those as my top choice, but I’d really like to try Copics, but now with the change in the refill bottles, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to.
The Altenew markers are very nice!
Kathy, I LOVE how your dots came out!!! My favorite markers are my Copics.
Thanks so much
I don’t have any Copic markers but would love to try them. I have a large collection of Spectrum Noir but I don’t enjoy using them because of the strong smell.
Sorry to hear that. I hope you are able to try the Copics.
I only have some really old Creative Memories markers that I got for journaling and small embellishments. Not great selection for shading.
But somehow I am guessing you make it work!
Have been a big fan of copics for years but the Altenew watercolor brush markers are quickly catching up in my book.
They are a great choice too.
Love the dots, love the skips, can’t wait to see what comes next.
My favorite markers are my Copics.
Thanks!
Wow! Didn’t know such a bag existed! Perfect for coloring on the go. I love Promarkers but hard to find now I am here in the US
Glad you love them though
Love those little dots!!! Copics are my favorites markers!
Thanks!
Wonderful giveaway! It’s funny…I’m not a big fan of coloring, but I have copics, and zig brush markers, and tombow markers, and my watercolors. I’m not sure I put one higher than the rest….maybe the zig markers because they can be the easiest to use LOL!! BUT I use my copics the most which is good because I better be using my priciest markers! Also, I’ve been using my distress inks lately. I think the oxides edge out the inks by a bit, but I do love the absence of the chalkiness inks have which is why I turn to the distress inks when I do. BUT oxides make a way better splatter.
Isn’t it amazing how many great options we have?
Copic markers are my go to.
Your dots remind me of bubble wrap. Really neat.
Thanks! They do look like that!
love the dots!
Thank you
Super cool painting! Love the effect of leaving the open spaces. Zig’s are my current favorite but I have been playing with the Karin.
Thanks!
Copics! I love the way Distress Oxides glide over stencils and use them more!
Sounds greaat. They do glide for sure.
My fav markers are Copics. I have some other alcohol based ones, but I don’t gravitate towards them practically ever. I like the Distress inks better than the oxides. I don’t like the chalky feel the Oxides leave and the DI are way brighter to me.
So many good choices
I like my Tombows!
Good choice!
Comics…
Oh my goodness! Copics…not comics lol
I knew what you meant! LOL
