Hello Friends! Welcome to Day 17! I am so happy you all enjoyed my uncut video yesterday and I will try and do some more for ya š
Today I have a quick post and a coupon code.
CHECK OUT THESE SHOES!! Aren’t they super fun?! I found them at A.C. Moore for about $25.00. Perfect for the challenge and for a night of quick coloring in bed.
Proof is in the pudding so they say. I wanted to use Copic markers because they are permanent and easy to color with.Ā A spot test on the inside of the shoeĀ confirmed that Copic markers would work.
B02 is my marker of choice for the background.Ā Since the shoes are fabric they will drink up more ink than paper will. If you need any Copic refills…. guess what?
Simon is having their BIG Copic Sale …. 25% !! The Coupon code is “MARKERSALE” If you have been on the fence about purchasing the Copic Blending Solution I promise you won’t regret it.
That’s a wrap for today and I will see you tomorrow. Thanks for popping in. Hugs, Kathy
P.S. If you want to share what your creating go to DAY 1Ā and scroll to the bottom of the post. You will find a blue Inlinkz tab to link up your coloring.
(If you are new to the challenge or want to know more about it click here.)

I love funky shoes (and earrings). What fun it would be to wear these out and about. They look comfy, too. What more could you ask for? Great color choices, but I can imagine several pairs in assorted colors.

I admit i’d never have thought of colouring clothing, it’s a great idea! If it works with shoes im assuming it will work with tshirt (although wondering what would happen once you wash them… did you already try ?)
Thanks for sharing this great idea š
Kathy Racoosin says
I haven’t washed them yet. š
Marianne says

They are super fun! I wish I had an ACMoore š I wish I had any craft store really. They would even be fun for kids using washable markers so they could color on summer road trips the wash them for the next ride in the car.
Kathy Racoosin says
Great idea! I believe you can order online with ACMoore. š

OMG! What awesome shoes! When I saw the title of this post I thought you might be sick since you were coloring in bed! Glad that isn’t the case. I guess it is better to color in bed than to eat chocolate chip cookies because coloring doesn’t leave tell tale crumbs! LOL Love your shoes and can’t wait to see them all done!! TFS!
Sue D says
What a fun idea!

Kathy, sooo ADORABLE !!!! My mom loves those sneakers at A.C. Moore, she has a bunch of them and what a cute idea. I Love how you are always thinking “outside” the box, the ideas you come up with are so inspiring to me. Get your sneakers out Mommy I am trying this out, it looks like so much fun. My Mommy is 82 but she is such a young 82 and dresses very hip and trendy and I think she will love them. Awesome Kathy.
Kathy Racoosin says
Your mom will be thrilled. Let us see what you do. Have a blast. š

Who else colors in bed but you. That photo of you brought peals of laughter to my morning…thanks (I’ll call it my daily exercise). Those shoes are just darling and you, apparently, are going to make them even better. Love what you’ve done, so far.

Brilliant idea, Kathy! Lovin’ those baby blue shoes!
Aileen says
What a fantastic pair of shoes Kathy, would make wonderful personalised gifts too but I bet they sell out quickly as you showed them on here. Double we would get them in Australia but will certainly keep an eye out.
Just on a side not, have you noticed how many cards are being posted yet when I click on them I cant go anywhere. Its such a shame that there are people posting their colouring and probably wondering why no one comments. I don’t know what they are doing wrong but thought I would mention it too you.
Kathy Racoosin says
Is this in regards to IG? Several people have been complaining about this regarding the new IG format. š
Mary-Anne V. says
What a great idea…love how these shoes look after being coloured.
Teresa Doyle says
Cool idea! I wish we had an A.C. Moore in N.S. Luckily, I have a crafty DIL and she has talked my husband and I into a trip to the U.S. with her and our son. Probably won’t be until next spring after my husband retires but we plan on hitting every craft store in our path! I can NOT wait!
Carol H. says
Your selfie with your shoes and markers is so adorable! We don’t have A.C. Moore down here. I’ll have to check around our craft stores to find them. Had no idea such a thing existed!! Hope you show us when you finish! š
Carol says
love the shoes. . . .and blue, perfect!
bev p says
Love it! And YOU are adorable! I do have a question: Did you have a problem with bleeding? I bought some fabric to color, but can’t find a way to stop the colors from bleeding across the lines. I have tried with alcohol markers as well as with fabric paints. (I had also found some canvas stickers to color and had the same problem with water-based markers.) If I don’t go all the way to the line, I end up with blank spaces. Any tips? Perhaps a video????!
Kathy Racoosin says
I would suggest you don’t color to the edge to allow room for bleeding … And maybe use the heat gun to dry out a little bit in between colors. I hope this resolves your bleeding issues. Thanks so much for being part of the coloring challenge. š
Jan D., FL says
The shoes are so cute…amazing project.
My crafting friend was over yesterday for our weekly day of creating and we were both still laughing over your uncut video this week. You are so cute and funny….just loved it. We need more laughter and especially when we can laugh at ourselves. Each person is unique which makes life far more interesting and fun.
Have a great weekend…..got one more post of yours to catch up on…..thanks for all your inspiration.
Rosy Newlun says

What a great idea – cool shoes too!! We don’t have an ACMoore but I’ll look around and see if I can find something like those at different stores! Wonder if they have them on line?? That’s my next stop…..
Milka says

These shoes are perfect to stop people from saying colouring is a pointless waste of time!
Lisa T says
Colouring shoes!!! I thought the starbucks cup was a novel idea but this one really trumps it!! How fun and you get to customise them – what will you come up with next?! Be inter sted to know how they do when washed
Yolanda Garrido says
I can’t believe this!!!! Hahahaha you are a genius!!!
Gail Plaskiewicz says
I didn’t know Copics were permanent which means you can use them on fabric. Yeah! I didn’t know that. Your shoes are amazing! I’ll take one pair please in a size 3. You can use yellow, orange and green on mine and the brighter the better. Where do I send the money for the sneakers? LOL
I decorated a pair of my sneakers. last year. I hand painted with fabric paint circles on black sneakers. I got an even better deal on mine then you did although yours were a good deal too. They were boys shoes so they are a little big for me but that’s okay. In the circles and around them I glued some plastic gem stones that were different shapes. The shoes looked so cool that people were asking me where they could get some. Maybe I should sell them? I will post a picture. People couldn’t believe that my circles were hand drawn. When I got done, I couldn’t believe it either! LOL
Tricia Ann says
Pretty and surprising post is TOO funny!
