Hello Friends, How are you? It’s day 30!!! EEK!! I can’t believe how these coloring challenges seem to go by so quickly. I had a blast viewing all your creativity and reading how making time for yourself has been a positive experience for you like it is for me :). It’s music to my ears when you mention the calming effect of coloring. You all have been so kind and supportive of my 30 day coloring challenges and words can’t begin to express my gratitude. Our community is the best and the most supportive people I have had the pleasure of knowing. Thanks to each of YOU for motivating me to do these challenges.
For the last day I bring to you a card with a color key … a video and another giveaway. Let’s get started… I have a lot to say lol and it’s all in my video…. backwards and all. 🙂
I stamped the Peony in Spun Sugar and the leaves with Bundled Sage.
As you have noticed during the challenge that there is sooo much talent and coloring with heart. I really want to introduce you to EunJi Jung ! Omg she exudes such talent and she’s a coloring idol of mine. Well… guess what … she carved some stamps and had them reproduced. They are amazing!!! I am giving away one stamp from my own collection of her flowers.

Well. … I tried to copy her coloring and it took a lot of time. I almost gave up several times but, I am glad I stuck with it … I do try and take my own advice sometimes ha ha.
In the video I explain why a color key etc. etc. For today’s coloring I used these colored pencils … I found them not as soft as yesterdays pencils plus they did not break when I sharpened them. (I picked mine up at AC Moore on sale). The sentiment is from Mama Elephant’s “Labeled Messages” .

Hi Kathy, I am from Cincinnati. I have enjoyed this challenge so much. I watched the last challenge, but did not participate because I did not know if I could commit to it everyday. I am like that if I commit to something, I have to give it my 110%. Anyway, I made myself think if you cannot give an hour or two or even three every day, then all it takes is 5 minutes. I know there were some nights that I could not do more than 15 minutes, but I managed. And I have enjoyed every minute of it. I also have enjoyed all of the talent that I have seen and all of the inspiration I gained. I so look forward to the next coloring challenge. Seems like other challenges I have read about you have to have a blog or website and this is one that did not so I really appreciate that since I do not blog. Thanks again for this opportunity and the chance to win. It has been FUN!

I can’t believe how quickly this challenge has passed…bittersweet indeed, but as I’ve mentioned before, I plan to continue to colour often, often and often! Currently, my husband and I live Canmore, Alberta, Canada (no crafting supply stores at all…sighhhh). Edmonton Alberta I still consider ‘home’, because that’s where my family is…and I was born in Ottawa, Ontario. A bit of a nomad in some ways….

Hey Kathy – congrats on day 30 of another fabulous color challenge. While I didn’t color every day, I managed to do a lot more than usual – so yay! Just loved your video with the pencils and no-line coloring; what realistic shading!! You know me – living in MN but originally from WI, a Cheesehead and Packer backer 🙂
Kathy! It’s always sad when the challenges end. I like having an excuse to color. I mean I know I can but its about giving myself a free pass to treat myself. I actually had less time this time around but that made the days I could even more satisfying. Your a true gem, so genuine and warm. I love all your videos and sweet comments and I know it takes ages and ages! I’ve made like three videos and all of them took just ages.

OH, WOW! I could not believe you almost gave up. I do hope that by the time you finished the first petals that you were greatly encouraged! I got a pack of botanical postcards on the clearance rack at Michael’s about 4 months ago and have had a ball learning to color them “accurately!” Never knew I had it in me. It was very helpful to find the original paintings to be a guide since I didn’t know what some of the flowers were supposed to look like! I might get some of those pencils. I have the same brand of watercolor pencils and have really enjoyed them. They release color like a dream and the selection is a nice complement to the more expensive set of Derwent I got later. I am getting bolder about color mixing, but it’s nice to find “just the right shade” of green! Thanks for these challenges, for all the tips, and even the rambling. You have inspired me mightily. I live in Richmond, VA (you asked!).

I have so enjoyed the last 30 days and even sat last night and did a no lines colouring which I will add even though it will make it Day 30.1 just so I can show you. I bought 5 stamps myself and they arrived two days ago so I coloured one with watercolour and one no line. I just wanted to say again ‘thank you for such a wonderful challenge. I truly love colouring and this is such a wonderful way to share and learn and build up not only skills but friendships through others met on the challenge. I started out on Instagram and can now see what all the fuss is about. Its so lovely to meet so many likeminded people who share the love and passion. Your starting of these Challenges has been the best thing since sliced bread I reckon. Thank you so much. Oops nearly forgot from Australia.

July is a hard month for me, I’m an Ohio farmers wife. Garden, Hay fields, and general farm work keep us busy in the summer. I’ve been so busy putting up veggies and fruit (along with helping in the hay field). I do hope you’ll have another challenge in the winter months-that’s when I do most of my stamping…..
This is a STUNNER Kathy and so is “Dot’s” work. I have pinned this to use as a reference. I only have school grade Prismacolor pencils, hopefully someday I can upgrade but at least I can try to learn some techniques. Wow, beautiful coloring. You did such a great job. I like the color key along the side. It reminds me of some of the quilting fabric that you can buy. They often have a color key like that on the selvage edge. Thanks for all your hard work on the 30 day coloring challenges.

I don’t know what day I found your challenge. I started coloring 5 minutes a day. I bought this precious, floral, small coloring book and spent 4 hours yesterday coloring in it with gel pens! Lol

I don’t know what day I found your challenge. I started coloring 5 minutes a day. I bought this precious, floral, small coloring book and spent 4 hours yesterday coloring in it with gel pens! Lol
I am so inspired by your multitude of coloring abilities, and I am going to go back and watch/re-watch all of the videos.

Wow! You’re coloring is so beautiful! I love that flower! I love all flowers and that flower stamp I won from you, the Azalea, comes out so beautiful whenever I stamp it. I love all of my stamps but this one I think is one of my faves. It never stamps a bad image and when I color it, it looks so professional, kind of like what you just did. Some stamp companies carve out stamps and the images always stamp so clean and crisp. PSX was a great company for this but they have been out of business for a while. You can get some of their stamps on e-bay and I looked for them. One of the stamps because it was a limited addition I think they wanted $900! I love their stamps but I am not a Kardashian. I will have to check Eunji because I think her work is amazing!

I can’t believe the challenge is over! Since I will still be creating as my foot is still broken, I will continue to send you things I have done. Thank you for bringing so much joy into my life. I’ve been so bummed out because of all the things I can’t do this summer with a broken foot that I am not thinking of all the things I can do and this coloring challenge is one of them. I can’t wait until the next one. I will be counting the days!

Wowza!! The colouring on this is absolutely stunning. I remember doing no line or ‘ghost stamping’ back in .. wow, it was 2008… and I think I went blind for 3 days after, lol. Amazing effect and worth the time it takes to do it.

I live in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, USA. It is approximately 60 miles from Washington D.C.. However, Berkeley Springs is located at the state line where Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia meet. Our town has a lot of historical significance. We are known for our amazing spring water where George Washington took a bath. However, we also have a castle that you used to be able to tour through. We have a rich Civil War history through this area.

I also agree with you about our special crafting community. Born, raised and still living in Oregon. Can’t beat the 1 hour drives in different directions to the beach, the Cascades, the high desert, the bigger cities or small haunted towns, waterfalls, spectacular hiking trails, the amazing Columbia River Gorge, just about whatever you want. I had other things going on, but hope to pick up the challenge one of these days as things settle down. You didn’t say it HAD to be in a specific 30 day period, did you? 😉 PS: Love the peonies and my eye went right to the circle edging. Lovely, as always.

I know I am really late on this, but as you know I was on holiday, I just didn’t get the time to watch the video and I really wanted to watch itand devour it properly! Kathy, I would never believe you don’t colour much with pencils, this is truly amazing. All those little extras that you added are so impactful (the bright red and extra orange), just beautiful. It was really interesting to hear you talk about how you tend to make each petal look the same when you colour, as I do exactly that, and of course, in real life this is just not the case, but it’s hard to stop doing that. You did an amazing job on this card, what an absolute knockout it is. Thank you once again for the challenge, all your hard hard work and lovely comments.
