Hello Everyone! How was your humpday? My kissin’ cousin’s daughter is staying with us for a week and it’s been great. Lots of time in the kitchen and away from the craft room. I am realizing what I need to get things done besides more time lol.
I colored this “Tiger Lily” from Power Poppy three ways in this video and fortunately I stamped part of the lily in pink ink … so all I had to do was grab and start coloring tonight. It’s a time saver to color part of a flower and I love that look on a card.
Building layers of color with pencils is easy if you have a light touch. (relax your hand and don’t press to hard) I wish I had more time to complete my soon to be card and wishing you a good end to the week.
Have a great day and see you tomorrow. Hugs, Kathy

Lucy Schmidt says
I have a hard time doing that “light touch” thing — in just about anything I do. I need more patience and practice, but I’m enjoying playing along. I’m still using the pencils I started the challenge with, bound and determined to see significant progress with them. Thanks for the continuing inspiration.

Awe, thank you Lucy!

That is one gorgeous stamp! I really like to stamp out a bunch of images so I always have something to color, although I have been known to have a few coloring books (tongue in cheek!). I plan to take a bunch with me when I go out of state for a few weeks the end of the month. This time I will also take some card bases and envies, as I needed to make some cards last time and didn’t have supplies to finish. (But I had a good time hunting embellishments without a “stash” readily available. Just happened to have some ribbon for another project that was the perfect color—made me so happy!)
Tracey Magner says
That is so Pretty ! I always stamp in black ink, I have never tried to stamp in any other color, but it does make sense, chalk it up to one more thing I learned from the master. Thanks Kathy.
Kathy Racoosin says
You’re so sweet Tracey. You should try no-line coloring sometime!! 🙂

What a great idea to start with a pink imprint. Florals scare me. I never to get them to look realistic.

Your coloring always amazes me. Have not been able to get to coloring very much. Too much going on and stress up the wazoo!! I think I need to color though. Would do me good!! LOVE the light touch you have on this flower. I find that so difficult to do!!

This is so gorgeous, I’m trying so hard to resist this stamp, but I just adore lilies. It doesn’t seem to matter what medium you use, you rock it. Ok, I’ll get the colored pencils back out and try to remember light, light, light layers. Oh I can hear that stamp calling to me………………….
Billie A says
Stunning. I love the color choices. Looks so real. You are making me want this stamp set. Beautiful work.
Gail Plaskiewicz says
I love both a light touch and sometimes a heavy hand, it depends on what I am coloring. I see why you colored your flower the way you did. Its very elegant and I really like it. If I were coloring that flower, that’s how I would have done it too. I also like to experiment though, like with the Hydrangea I colored. I did them multi colored even though they aren’t and I used a light touch with my pencils. I want to do them again with brighter colors and then I will use a heavier hand. Like I say, it all depends. Your flower does look real.
I colored a Stamping Bella image on a card for my niece whose name by the way is Isabella but we call her Bella. I posted it and people commented that they loved my coloring! It’s always nice to hear something like that. The Hydrangeas I did I also heard how nice my coloring was. I guess I am getting the hang of this coloring thing! LOL Now if I could only learn how to use the few Copics I have I would be a happy camper.
Enjoy having your company over your house. My nephew will be home from college in a few months I think and then I will get to cook for him again. He loves when I cook for him and he loved the picture I colored for him. He hung it up in his dorm room.
