Hello Friends, It’s Day 21. How are you all doing with your coloring? I hope you are feeling successful even if you aren’t playing everyday. Frustration is something that I hope isn’t popping up for you. Feel free to let me know. On another note I will hopefully get to all emails tomorrow. Thanks for taking the time to send me a note.
Yesterday’s technique with Power Poppy’ s “Succulent Singles” was a good one but, in all honesty I don’t feel I executed it very well and I am anxious to do it again.
These beautiful succulents needed a second chance with some of my beloved markers lol.
These were some fun color combos and I would love to know if you find them useful.
More twine!! I am getting obsessed with it and I always love adding a few of Lucy’s sequins mixes.
Tomorrow I will have a video … and I am wishing you a good day! Hugs, Kathy

Wow! You have really made these succulents come alive! I especially love the blueish one and the gloss looks amazing! TFS!
Becca Yahrling says
LOL The sentiment just cracks me up! And your succulents
look so life-like.
BunnyD says
These are amazing! They have such a roundness to them that they seem to lift off rhe page! The largest one looks as if you dry embossed each leaf from the back. Great sentiment too!
Kathy Racoosin says
Thanks so much Bunny, as always, for your super sweet comment! 🙂
Pat Kuhn says
the colors are beautiful on this card! love it!
Laura P. says
Hi Kathy, Yay, you posted your “what’s up, succa?” card! It’s fabulous! Love your color choices and the twine is the perfect touch along with the sequins. Love!
Kathy Racoosin says
So happy you’re glad I posted it! I know you said you wanted to see the finished product…if I recall correctly. Thanks for your sweet comments!
Mirella ROGAN says
Another stunner! You never cease to amaze with your creations 🙂

They look like you took a photo in my garden! Just so realistic! LOVE!
Kathy Racoosin says
Awe, so nice of you to say! Thank you!
Sheri K says
Very cute card and awesome coloring! I’m really enjoying the coloring, I’m working on another very involved page but totally loving the combining colored pencils and ink pens–really adds dimension. I even purchased a 2nd cart , to hold my coloring books, colored pencils and copics. I have another Raskog cart filled with my “water coloring” stuff-papers, watercolor pencils, watercolor sets etc. I love those little carts and I can keep it by my chair in the family room and when company comes, simply slide it into the nearby closet. You inspire me Kathy!
Kathy Racoosin says
I am so happy you’re enjoying the challenge Sheri! You can never have too many Raskog carts, LOL! 🙂
Tracey Magner says
What’s up SUCCA ?, lol.. That is so funny, I love it and I love your card and color combo’s. Also I always appreciate when you give us the numbers of the colors that you use, it is so helpful in case I want to….um…. copy you, lol. You know that is the biggest compliment anyone can get ! Have a great day and Happy coloring everyone.
Kathy Racoosin says
I am so happy I remembered this time, LOL! 🙂
Julie Haedtke says
LOVE the sentiment also! Pretty card….would love to send to a friend!!
Sheila H says
That sentiment is hilarious! And your coloring is just perfect.
Carla vdM says
Wauw wonderfull card, they almost look real.
Can you tell what kind of markers you used here, please.
Kathy Racoosin says
I used Copic Sketch alcohol based markers. The specific colors are shown in one of the photos above to the right hand side of the picture. 🙂
Carla vdM says
Thank you for the reply Kathy.
I thought it was another brand.
Trina Flynn says
Wonderful looking succulents! I like the sentiment it went well with the image! The colors you used Kathy are very pretty I love how they turned out.
Becky Green says
You ALWAYS DO WONDERFUL COLORING, Kathy! 😉 I ALSO LOVE the dotted background you’ve done here! 😉 SUPER JOB AS ALWAYS!! 😉 Off to find SOMETHING to color here! 😉

Beautiful coloring as always. I love the way you pull all the colors together.
Sue LD says
Wonderful coloring of these succulents.
Anne Sturgeon says
Love your color choices and this stamp set. One can never over do twine. Thanks for seconds with the succulents.
Linda W. (ScrappinBari) says
Gorgeous succulents, Kathy – you really brought them to life! Had to laugh at your comment about frustration with coloring – yes, I’m often frustrated! But that can happen when you’re learning and things done work as hoped. I try to have a make-it-work moment and not take myself to seriously. I can admit I’ll never color as beautifully as you – that’s ok!
Kathy Racoosin says
I am sorry you’re feeling frustrated Linda. Remember, it is supposed to be fun. If you do not like it, it does not mean that someone else won’t like it. Everyone has different tastes and when it isn’t fun anymore you can go into a tunnel. I hear you! We are human! Hoping you get out of this phase, and soon! 🙂
Nora says
Well aren’t these lovely!! I sometimes have to revisit my stamps when I don’t color them the way I wanted them either. I like that you still get frustrated and you are an EXPERT colorer.
Yvette says
Wow such beautiful cards!
Bev Gerard says
Well, color me “late” to the party! Just now finding this sweet & fun blog … and happy about that already! Love the colors you chose for the succulents. I think I might have either 1 or possibly 2 succulent stamps at most in my stash … but happy that I’ve now been inspired to look for them! LOL Howdy from Texas!

Kathy Racoosin says
WELCOME Bev in Texas. Happy you found my blog, The Daily Marker, and I hope you enjoy the content. Happy you’re here! 🙂
Moira OReilly says
What a lovely card Kathy and you sure made those succulents pop – your colouring is stupendous!!! Hugs xo
Cheryl Scrivens says
Love the card and your colors! I never would have thought of those colors, and I love the grouping along with the great stenciling! Hugs!
Gail Plaskiewicz says
I love how you colored your succulents. They look just like the ones our nursery that closed up about 10 years ago had all over the place. I loved going their to buy plants and look at the displays they had. My dad and mom would go with me and we’d pick out plants. I think you did a nice job.
It’s been a tough start to the week. My dad passed away early Mon. night and it’s so hard to write that as I’m crying. I have to go now so I don’t get tears all over my keyboard. I wish I could color right now but I can’t. Please remember my family in your prayers.
Kathy Racoosin says
Oh Gail, I am so terribly sorry to hear this. You and your family are in my thoughts. Big hugs!
Lucy Schmidt says
I, for one, liked what you did with the succulents yesterday, but also like today’s. I’m not sure where you think you went wrong. You’re being too hard on yourself, but we’re always our own worst critic. I don’t have Copics, but I like the added chart and color swatches. One of the things I’ve noticed myself doing is trying to figure out some of the shading when I first look at the image before reading the “how-to.” My favorite is the bluish one.
PS: Please do not feel like you need to respond to any comments I make. You do all the work and I like to let you know what I think and what I take away from your works of art, but I don’t expect you to write back. I can tell you appreciate all of us.
PPS: I, too, like twine and use it on both feminine and masculine cards. And thank you for using a button and not leaving it naked. 😉 The card feels lacking if there isn’t something in those holes.
Kathy Racoosin says
Oh Lucy, I always appreciate your sweet comments! Thanks for making me smile! 🙂 Appreciate you being so understanding.
Teresa Doyle says
Your succulents are fantastic, such a great colour combo! A beautiful card Kathy and I’ll look forward to tomorrows video.

Oh I love this stamp set.. I want this stamp set. It would be fun to color those awesome succulents.. I could see them water colored. I love your look and colors. Yes sequins are awesome touch along with the twine and button. I love the layers and stenciling you did. I just bought a new stencil today and cant wait to use it and give a hint of interest as you do.. Cant wait to see your video.

Heidi Macy says
They are so beautiful and that set is totally on my wish list!
Lisa Tilson says
Your combinations always look good to me, and I know you say you can put almost any colour together. I say it every time, but I must get better at putting different colours together with my markers, it really pays off to experiment. Great sentiment on that card too 🙂
Bobbie says
Kathy once you touch a product it is like magic appears right in front of me. It is truly a magical thing you do with color. I need to borrow you magic lamp for a week to learn from your Genie lol. As always just love the cards you produce. Some day if you ever get to Texas you are always welcome to come and stay and maybe I can learn one on one lol.
Kathy Racoosin says
LOL. As always, thanks for your kind comments, Bobbie.
