Hello Friends! Welcome to Day 2 and I am so proud all of you that have been successful carving out some “You” time. If you haven’t been able to don’t worry and color when you can. Please don’t worry about catching up it’s just best to jump in.
I Love this series of stamps from Waffle Flower illustrated by Helen Darkin. The whimsy gets me giddy! I wanted to color this one so I stamped her with a light ink from SSS and traced over the lines. I altered her by adding a body and the hit of an arm …. and extended the stems on the flowers.
If you watch the video you will see my awful, ugly eyelashes lol and how I corrected her. It’s another late night for me so this will be a short post. Thank YOU for your visit and see you tomorrow!! Hugs, Kathy

Fabulous card today, Kathy! I love that you’ve altered the stamp and her eyelashes look great – the illustration is one of whimsy and her eyelashes fit the part – big thumbs up!! And yes, I saw you were going to SoCal and I’m so jealous! I miss the southwest so much it makes me ache. I don’t know if Vance and I will stay here in Charleston – we both have the wanderlust (I think it comes from being in the military for so many years), but we talk about going back to our home state of Arizona all the time (and we’re not getting any younger) so we better decide. I was upstairs in the studio yesterday cleaning up my desk, cataloging new dies and stamp sets, and generally getting things back in order. While I was doing it I gave myself some time to think about what I wanted from the challenge this time. I think my personal goal will be just “practice” pieces – no cards.

As always – THANK YOU – for leaving the bloopers in, those ARE the best; it’s always good for us to see how you fix what didn’t go right! You make everything look amazing, I’m always shocked by how you alter images, I just don’t think like that but you do amazing work!!

Thanks Kathy, for also showing your Oops moment, the second face looks indead much better. I always love it when you altered a stamp, it looks so easy when you do it. I have never tried it. Just a short note because I don’t feel well today, hope I can color something tonight.

Hi Kathy, I just ADORE this card, what a FUN stamp, such amazing coloring, of course!! I along with everyone love when you leave the OOPS in your video, most don’t. I also love altering stamps a little, not a lot… like I like to make the girl stamps extend the hair down to the ground, to make it almost look like me, mine is almost to my knees. I add hat stamps to my head, or to the boys head, it is fun to use your imagination when creating I think.

Fabulous video on how to alter an image! And while I liked both versions, it was great to see how you fixed an error. Love these stamps and your coloring looks awesome. Thanks for sharing your step by step techniques!

What a CUTE idea, Kathy to turn the head into a bobble head! She had “false” eyelashes on before. You went “all natural.” LOL I LOVE to do eyes too!!!! SO CUTE!!! 😉 Am debating on jumping in… I’ve been having computer issues lately, & worry I will loose out on participating RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the fun! LOL 😉
Carol H. says
Just amazing how you altered the stamp! Of course, amazing coloring as always! 🙂

I have one of those stamps and it has never been inked. I found it a little intimidating and just wasn’t sure where to begin with it. Thank you, Kathy. I’m going to give it a try!

Fabulous card Kathy, it’s always interesting to see how people fix things they are not happy with. I’m always trying to fix something . These stamps are already whimsical and quirky and therefore entirely appropriate to have a head wobble. Genius! Love listening to you on your videos xx

Beautiful colouring, Kathy! I’m so glad you decided not to go with the other eyes – this looks much better! Love how you stamped the cat on her apron – it looks so cool! I love cats! You are so creative to extend the image to fill the space – I would never have thought about doing that! Always learning something from you! I haven’t be able to colour yet but I do have some images stamped and ready 🙂 Thanks for the daily inspiration!
