Hello Friends, How are you? Sorry I missed yesterday I just couldn’t add one thing to my plate. Every day this week I have been at the hospital with my step dad for 6 hours or more. You would think I would have lots of coloring time but, it’s busy with tests and motivating him and supporting my mom. He now has pneumonia and is still somewhat disoriented from his back surgery on Monday … or the pneumonia … not sure. So please keep him in your prayers.
I hope you all are well and that the flu is staying away from you and your family!
I am excited to finish this girl and give her a fun pattern on her dress. I feel like I need to add some highlights on her hair? We will see … hummmm.
Check out this post for background colors and this post for the face and body colors plus a similar video.
Just in case you wanted to compare the two. Off to bed to try and stay healthy. So happy I have this happy place in my life and all of you and this community. Hugs and Love, Kathy

My week has been very similar! We had the flu last week.(or was that two weeks ago, and the strep last week?) We totally get it!! Family first. Just said a prayer for you, your step-dad, your mom, and all the rest of the family. As for hair color…I am a big fan of letting God manage that! (My sisters hate the fact that I won’t cover my gray, but I have earned every one of them!!! Kind of hard to know with a stamped image, though, isn’t it. Go with your instincts. Whatever you do, it will be amazing.
Bunny Dobbie says
Hope it all works out well Kathy. Perhaps bring some colouring for you and your mum. She must be overdue for a welcome distraction as you both wait for things to improve, He’s in the right place for care. Your ladies are turning out beautifully!
Kathy Racoosin says
Great suggestion, Bunny. Thank you.
Sue D says
Pretty girls and keeping your family in my prayers.
Kathy Racoosin says
Much appreciated, Sue! Thank you!
Janet says
You are a good and loving daughter who has her priorities in order! Stay well.
And not to add anything to your already full plate, but I’d love to see some hints for coloring curly haired girls (or boys). And I’d REALLY love to see some stamps that feature curly locks. Any ideas?
Kathy Racoosin says
Hmmm nothing I can think of off the top of my head but I’ll keep my eyes peeled in my stash and try to in the future. It might not be during this coloring challenge but I’ll take a note and try to in the near future. Life is just very hectic right now. I hope you understand.
Janet says
Thanks so much for the response. And no hurry, no worry! Just an idea for “someday”. Hope you are finding a little time to unwind.
Sheri K says
I hope your step-Dad is getting better and ALL of you can leave the hospital–it’s a great place to catch some sort of something! I know, I worked in one for years. Stay healthy, get lots of rest and please do take care of you too!

Kathy – I just wanted to reach out and say I pray your step dad is on the road to recovery. I’ve been down for the count for a few days and wanted to let you know I’m thinking of you all! xoxoxo

Ohh Kathy, I worry about YOU! You need to STOP worrying about your blog and us and IF you miss a day posting. YOUR FAMILY needs you NOW, not us!!! Don’t feel guilty that you can’t post, can’t color or can’t comment, You have ambassadors for that!! They are keeping an eye on everything for you, they are doing their job and doing a wonderful job at that, so STOP, leave all this behind and leave it to them, WE ALL understand, life happens, you did not plan this, your place is with your Mom and your Step Dad and your family at home. Believe me I know all too well, what Hospital life does to you, the family and the patient, just take care of yourself, and your family. We all will be here when this crisis is over, just update when you can, and we all will be praying hard for your Step Dad and your family. I can’t express enough to you that I have been thru this, stop the coloring and the blogging for now, just worry about you and your family now, and Kathy DON’T feel guilty!!! lol, I know how you are 🙂

Prayers are still coming your way Kathy for you and your step dad, David & all of your family! We haven’t had the flu (thank heavens) but a week ago yesterday my BIL collapsed and has been in ICU ever since. He has a brain aneurysm and needs surgery. His name is Kevin and I too would appreciate any/all prayers for him and my sister right now.
On a brighter note, your girls are beautiful and when you have time to finish them I am sure it will be worth the wait. It always is. In the meantime, we will pray for our loved ones and colour when we can…{{{HUGS}}}

Stay healthy, Kathy. Taking care of yourself during this time is also key! Prayers are lifted up for you, your mom and step-dad.
Your portraits are so beautiful! Love the colors you used and how you have shared the process with us from the first images you stamped. Can’t wait to see what kind of pattern you add to the shirt and if you do highlights. I love copper and auburn highlights on a brunette.
Kathy Racoosin says
I truly appreciate all the prayers and sweet words, Christy. Hugs to you!

Beautiful coloring! I’ll be praying for your stepdad and your family. Take care of them yourself and them. We all totally understand. It’s rough when someone is in the hospital and you need to be there for them. Don’t put any unnecessary stress or pressure on yourself.
Kathy Racoosin says
Thank you for understanding and for the prayers, Amy! Much appreciated!
Gail Plaskiewicz says
So sorry to hear that your dad is going through something else besides his back surgery. I know what its like with a dad in the hospital. Before my dad passed away last March 20th and I can’t believe it will be almost a year this year, he was in the hospital several times along with a nursing home for the 3 years he had a feeding tube. I know how germ ridden those places can be and I know what its like to spend hours with him and my family. I also brought my coloring just to have something to do.
I’ve had 4 pneumonia shots and I’ve had pneumonia 4 times! The shot is only 75% effective and I had it alone twice, once with bronchitis and probably an ear infection because I always got an ear infection with the bronchitis, and once with mono. It is not a fun thing to have at all! I hope all our prayers are working.
Are these stamps you colored or are they drawings? I’ve never seen stamps like that, that’s why I am asking. I like your coloring and the skin and hair coloring. I have to practice more with skin and hair. I have some chalk pencils that are skin tones that I love! I have to practice using them more.
Don’t worry about us and your blog. Take care of yourself and your family. The rest will straighten itself out.
Kathy Racoosin says
Thank you for all of your prayers, Gail.
