Hello Friends! How are you? Have you ever entered a coloring contest? When I was a child I would enter coloring contests and I never won but, entering was fun with a win or not. Hero Arts used to have card contests and those contests are what really helped launch my card making passion.
What happened to all the contests? I wish I knew ….. maybe it’s because it’s easier to pick a random winner and no one has to worry about hurt feelings? Well I decided to tackle this challenge in between “The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge” to keep us motivated and keep us coloring.
I would love to hear your thoughts and let me know if you are considering entering. I will pick a random winner from the comments just to start the dialogue. Winner will be announced next Sunday.
You can see the giveaway at the bottom of my post!
Can anyone enter?
Yes everyone is welcome including our international friends. For a level playing field there are 3 categories.
Beginner – Intermediate – Advanced
How do I choose which category I should enter?
Enter yourself based on your experience and or how fellow crafters or your friends perceive your art. PLEASE NOTE you can only enter one level or you will be disqualified.
What do I enter to qualify for the contest?
You can enter a card, coloring or any project of ANY medium and I suggest you enter the work you are most proud of only . *PROJECTS MUST BE NEW *
How many times can I enter? You can enter as many times as you wish before August 3oth. Projects must be new.
How do I enter my best coloring, project or card?
ALL ENTRIES MUST upload in the specific category you choose on my blog with the Inlinkz button.
(For example, if you are entering beginner … you will look for the “beginner” inlinkz button to enter and share.) Please NOTE – You do NOT need a blog to enter.
WINNERS! There will be five prizes in each category. First, second & third prize plus 2 runner ups. Prizes will be announced soon (I am still working on that but, they will be great.)
When does the coloring contest close? August 30th 11pm EST.
When will the winners be announced? September 5th on thedailymarker.com
** Please use these specific hashtags to keep the entries nice and organized. ** Thank You!
Advanced – #thedailymarker30day #thedailymarkercoloringcontestadvanced AND #thedailymarkercoloringcontest
Intermediate – #thedailymarker30day #thedailymarkercoloringcontestintermediate AND #thedailymarkercoloringcontest
Beginner– thedailymarker30day #thedailymarkercoloringcontestbeginner AND #thedailymarkercoloringcontest
I l0ok forward to reading your comments and thanks for your visit I am forever grateful. Hugs, Kathy

This sounds like a great idea, I need some motivation to be crafty- my mojo seems to have disappeared!
Kathy Racoosin says
EEk! Mine to Peggy 🙂
Ruth says
Will try to get that coloring mojo working on my end. I love to color. No as great as a lot of people, but love it! Will join and hopefully will figure out how to download.

Christy Bray says
I love a contest and I miss them too! Don’t know what happened to them! Might go along with the “participation trophy” mentality?
Thank you and so excited!
Kathy Racoosin says
lol love that participation trophy and so happy you are excited. Yay 🙂
Yaney says
Yay! Thank you for organizing a colouring contest. I draw a lot but hardly colour them for fear of spoiling the drawing. I’ve just recently started colouring my drawings after looking at your posts. It’s like your posts gave me the courage to try something i’ve been avoiding for a long time.
Kathy Racoosin says
Oh Yaney that makes me sooo happy. Thanks for making my day 🙂
Paulette Stilll says
Hi Yaney,
I know just what you mean. I have drawn a beautiful pencil sketch of a crab and I typically don’t draw. Sketching was my priority this 2018 year for something outside of my comfort zone. It took me about a week to complete it. I’m considering, scanning and printing it for coloring. So, I don’t loose the original sketch. What do you think?
Would something like that work for you?
Brandi R says
I think it’s a wonderful idea. Thank you for thinking of it and putting it all together ♥
Marsha D says
I love contests. Can we enter more than once as long as we stay within our chosen level?
Kathy Racoosin says
Yes Marsha and I just added that to my post. Eek I always leave something out lol.
Fatima Farr says
I know it’s going to be fun and I’m looking forward to it… thanks for keeping it going kathy .. time to practice practice yippy!!

Kathy Racoosin says
You have nothing to loose Nancy. It will be fun. 🙂
Jody says
I’m in but do I only enter one item in my category or as many as I want? I’m a little confused.
Kathy Racoosin says
Ah Jody I just corrected my post so it should be more clear .. I hope. You can enter as often as you want but, stay in the same category.
Vijaylaxmi Siyal says
Wow…I would definitely join this fun challenge …thanks for giving us such opportunities …I am a beginner and this would give me a chance to learn more ❤✌
But I hv 2 queries that whats the maximum number of entries allowed & is old work/project is eligible or only new ?
Thanks again
Kathy Racoosin says
Hi 🙂 I just updated. Must be NEW work and you can enter as often as you like. I recommend your best work 🙂 Thanks
Frances says
I thinking about entering. A little intimidating to do daily but i’m up for the challenge.
Tej Dhoble says
Oh this is exciting! I will love to participate for sure! Is it open internationally? and also can we enter more than once? Thanks again Kathy for keeping us motivated to take some time out to color and relax! : ). xx Tej
Kathy Racoosin says

Kristina Pavlovic says

Thank you for this! So much fun! How do I enter – I couldn’t find the inLinkz button.
Kathy Racoosin says
It’s starts August 1st which is now lol. As soon as I can get it up 🙂
Kathy Racoosin says
All ready to link your art but, just to be clear it needs to be new. Yay thanks 🙂
Dawn Phillips says
I’d like to give it a go. Love Dawn x
Lucy E. says
What a wonderful way to encourage so many of us to continue coloring!
I will definitely enter 🙂
Linda E says
What a wonderful idea! One month…one entry…I should be able to pull that off in between moving my daughter back to school and working!
Kathy Racoosin says
Hi Linda, Just to be clear you can enter as often as you like 🙂
Card's Crafty Creations says
I would love to enter the contest, is it one coloring per person?
Kathy Racoosin says
Hi 🙂 I just included that in my post. You can enter as often as you like as long as it’s new work. Thanks
Chelsey Vorosmarty says
What a great idea! I’m not sure what catagory to enter…intermediate or advanced?! Can we enter existing work or should it be new? Thank you for all your encouragement Kathy and all the work you put into getting us all coloring more!
Kathy Racoosin says
Thanks Chelsey I love hearing that. Must be new work 🙂
Sini says
I love this idea! With challenges and contests it’s always easier to see more of the other crafters, get inspired and learn. Thank you!
Silvia says
Wonderful idea!!!! I’m in.
Disha lohiya says
Thank you for thinking of such a great idea. I understand its a lot of work for you and your team but i needed this so badly right now. My crafting mojo seems to be lost. Ideas are just evaporating from my head while I sleep i feel. Just a quick question, how many times can I enter in my selected level?
Kathy Racoosin says
Awww Disha sounds like this will be perfect for you. You can enter as many times as you like and it needs to be new projects. Good luck with the mojo I bet you will find it. 🙂
Alina says
This is an awesome challenge!
Dana M says
Oh what fun! I hope to find enough mojo to enter.
Malia Arnold says
I’m in. Eventually I’ll get your video to play, I had fun during the last daily marker!
ileana says
hi there! I’m in too! hope to have enough time to play everyday 🙂 I used to participate in lots of cards challenges, but life got in the middle and then everything was not the same… about the random winners, I have a divided opinion there because thanks to the challenges I could improve my skills a lot! winners were chosen by their work, so I tried to get better everytime. When random winners were starting to get in fashion I kind of lost my motivation 🙁 but I undestand it was fair to more people. Your way of making these three groups looks a lot better 🙂 Big hugs, sorry for the long answer
Nadja Kaagh says
Finally Kathy, I’ve just been waiting for you to start something new so I could get myself started after the summer. I’ve been coloring a lot, but not at my very best, so I need a little loving kick in my behind to get back in the game.
I can’t imagine how you get the energy to do this with only a months pause. You are fantastic!
Alexandra says
I’m thinking in joining, I’m a complete beginner in card making and coloring… but I will give it a try Good motivation!
Lisette says
What a nice idea! I’m going to enter.
Trisha Layman says
Oh how fun! The Daily Marker was such an inspiration and motivation so looking forward to trying this too! Thanks for creating such a fun event to participate in ❤️

I get a little intimidated joining contests.. There’s just so much talent out there!! But I love that this contest has a beginner level.. I will be brave and give it a try!
Jenny Lloyd says
I only said to my husband the other day that I was so sad that the 30 day challenge had ended and that I wasn’t as driven!! Fantastic!!
Jo McCausland says
I’m in!
I’ve even brought my copics and some ready stamped images on holiday with me. My husband and children have gone canoeing for the day so I have the perfect opportunity to do something creative. This popped up on Instagram at just the right time, thank you. X
Marianne says
Sounds like fun, Kathy. I have recently started the pencil colouring classes at Kit and Clowder to improve my colouring skills and become more confident, so this a great incentive to actually finish a class once I’ve started…
Marianne x
Stef Perry says
What fun! Looking forward to it!
Anna says
What a great thing and at a very needed moment! I feel like I am wanting more quality on my works but having no inspiration (though the nature and stuff are great, doing magic LOL feels like a bit of hard lately)! So I am definately in! Besides I am so ready to try out new coloring mediums so yaaay! ^_^
Carol says
This is such a wonderful idea! I love your challenges because it pushes people to post their creations and I love seeing it all! Thank you Kathy!! Coloring is so good for the soul.
Ek Gorman says
Oh I love this idea. Now I just need to figure out where I fall in my skill level.
Beatrix Revhelyi says
HUhh interesting, and a bit different with levels. 🙂
Tasha says
Just wondering, how do you know what level your work will be considered under?
Can we use markers, water colors, or colored pencils?
Thanks for sharing
Lieschen says
I’m a little intimidated (mainly because I don’t know if I’m that good to enter :-/) but I will jump in! Maybe this is what I need to get motivated and push myself to be more crafty. Thanks for doing this Kathy <3!
Lee Ann Barrett says
Fantastic idea, Kathy! These days it seems everything has to be fair and equal. I agree with healthy competition! Keep up the great work. I appreciate everything you do!
Teri Wils says
I’m in! Thanks Kathy for organizing!

What a fun idea and it looks like many colorists are excited! Leave it to you to be so inspiring. I am hopeful I can enter a time or two. School is starting up again soon. Thanks for always being so encouraging!
Zehra says
I will try, hopefully it will give me a reason to color more. It is kind of scary, a little bit. I am going to at least put up 5 in the month. Thank u for things u do to motivate us.

Great opportunity to see lots of cool things…

Jackie S says
What a fabulous idea! I have absolutely no expectations of winning, but it’ll be fun to play. Thank you for helping me keep coloring
Erika Combs says
Great idea! Thirty days, this master procrastinator should be able to get in at least one entry, lol
Natasha Trupp says
Very fun concept!!
I’m not sure if I’ll enter yet, I sure enjoyed the last daily marker challenge, but I’m definitely a bit intimidated when it comes to self assessing my own level and being officially judged, but I’m sure it’ll be good for my creative motivation.
Joan Kinnischtzke says
Thanks for putting this together Kathy! A little motivation is always good. My goal is to improve while I enjoy. And I love seeing what other people are coloring and watching their skills too!
Ellenor Emilsson says
What a great idea! Love it! I will defintely enter 🙂
Diane Morales says
Kathy, what a great idea! Who does not like a friendly competition! I’m excited to see what everyone does. That is the best part. I hope this will push people past the “I can’t do it” hump.
Hugs
Diane
Katie says
What a great idea!!! I haven’t done something like this since middle school! Lol! What a great way to get people to put themselves out there in such a wonderful community. I look forward to this! Thanks Kathy!!
Angelica Conrad says
I’m in! And I’m going to use my awesome new Clipboard you gave me too!!
Jane Crisci says
What a fun idea! Kathy you are such an inspiration to everyone! Thank you for all of the time that you devote to making us better artists!! MWAH!!!
Sharna W says
I like this idea. I think LF kinda does both? The winner is random but they also feature projects that they liked the best so the prize was just for playing but you could still get the recognition for doing a good project month to month in their Flickr group too.
Joyce says
I won a poster contest as a child. It was so easy to enter things then. Now I think our own thoughts of not being good enough weigh us down. My first thought was beginner, but how can I justify that with owning so many mediums and playing along with the 30 day challenge from the beginning. Not to mention all these years scarpboooing and card making. So for me I think it’s getting over fear of my own judgement and play along! Because I love a good challenge! ❤️
Teri Wils says
Thanks so much for another great challenge!
KT Fit Kitty says
Hi, Kathy! I always enjoy your challenges – I don’t always link up but I do enjoy the inspiration and you usually get me colouring, maybe not for all 30 days but I end up colouring more than usual.
As for contests, most of the blog challenges choose a top 3 along with a random winner so there are still lots of contests around, but not specifically for colouring.
I will link up some of my colouring for you but I admit I feel very intimidated when seeing how beautifully others can colour. I consider myself a beginner because I don’t colour much and I’m not that great at it. I marvel at your colouring and I do pick up lots of tips, so thank you!
Looking forward to it!
Dee Earnshaw says
Love this idea – makes people try hard:)
Michele F says
I loved my first foray at The Daily Marker 30 Day challenge, Kathy … and still pinching myself when I gaze upon my PRIZE!
Fingers crossed that I have a moment or two to color between butterfly blooming!
=]
Lisa Zurek says
Going to try this!
Meghan Kennihan says
WOW! FUN! This was my first year doing the Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge… so I’m down for a competition! YEAH!
Darlene Fellows says
Sounds like fun! Now if I could just find my markers so I can get started! 🙂
Kelly Butler says
Im in! I consider myself a beginner at coloring but ive received comments like “great coloring”. But im my worst critic. Im not sure intermediate is for me. Oh.. to chose? Ok,beginner for me! Thank you for doing this Kathy!
Arianna Barbara says
Wow! What a beautiful idea!!! <3
Andrea S. says
This is a great idea! Not sure how much time I will have to color and try this out, but I think I may give it a shot on one or two cards in the beginner category.
susie sonnier says
How exciting!!! Looking forward to entering
Pam sertich says
How exciting! Everything you put together always gives me a warm feeling all over. I will get my markers and pencils out and get on the starting line ❤️ Especially my cotton gauze with my colorless blender in it to use with my COPIC coloring. Hugs ❤️❤️
Tess Hackett says
My six year and eight year old want to know if they can enter too? I am not sure if I would be beginner or intermediate myself? What is a good rule of thumb to decide?
Nidhi Dwivedi says
This is the best news. I have somehow missed all the dailymarker challenges and i really want to get back to coloring. And today as i sit here with my afternoon coffee on my 33rd birthday, motivating myself to start coloring from now on, I come accross this post. Thanks for the motivation Kathy! Am totally in.. maybe beginner for now but am extra happy about it!
Cathy Maas says
I’ve been waiting for this! As a Beginner, it’s a little more than overwhelming to enter any kind of contest, especially coloring. I have loved coloring all my life. Can’t say I’m good at it but it relaxes my anxiety/depression.
Thank you for the chance to enter and not be up against all the fabulous artists that are so wonderful.
Susan G says
I think it’s a great idea. I entered some coloring contests when I was about 12. I somehow managed to win tickets to the circus for my family. It was the most exciting thing ever (for a 12-year-old). I don’t know how to do the computer type things, but I will enjoy watching. Great fun. Enjoy all the pretty entries. I wish you the very best of luck. Thanks for all you do for us. You’re amazing.
Lindarub says
Can you give us some guidelines for figuring out if you are a beginner or intermediate? Do you want us to put coloring on blog and Instagram or just one?
sharla~ says
I love that I can just color and not have to finish a project! I also like having a contest, i think it will help me put forth my best effort and keep me motivated!
Cathy McGuire says
Yes … I’m in!! This will be great fun!
Dot Freel says
How exciting! I do love a good competition. My sons have won coloring contests. I won for a witch I drew in a moon once when I was young. It’s fun to try no matter what so you can bet I will be entering! Thanks for the opportunity. Its going to be fun to see what people create.
Wenche Fleischer says
What a great and fun idea. I am just beginning to get into the wondergul world of coloring, but will try and work up the courage to enter. Thank you for the encouragement and opportunity
Julia says
Wonderful! Thank you for this motivation, I join ☺
Andre M. says
I will definitely be giving this a try, in the beginner category. I’ve never entered a colouring contest before, but I’m trying to improve my skills and this will be a great opportunity. My 11 and 13 year old are on vacation, and they had so much fun participating in the SSS Kids Summer Challenge, so they’ll enter too.
Patty Eifert says
I have yet to join one of your challenges, though every time I say im going…life just gets so busy and I work full time. I am seriously going to try this time!!
Stacey says
This sounds soooo fun, I love a contest and it’s something to really MAKE me do some coloring, which I really need to practice!
Jennifer K says
Yeah, this is such a great idea Kathy! I am going to try my best to enter and hopefully it will help me get my mojo back that I’ve completely lost and need it back. Thank you Kathy for organizing another wonderful event.
Christine Cox says
Fun, fun, fun!! I am finishing up my craft room remodel, so hope to get started soon!
Lee says
Wonderful idea! I’m a long time sporadic crafter but a fairly new color-er so who knows whether I’ll come up with anything that pays my own (harsh) standards. Be fun to try though. : )
carol says
Yayyy for the contest; yayyy for the levels! Thank you so much for this opportunity! I’m going to see if my 8 year old niece wants to play along too…I think she’s’advanced’ *grin* (just kidding, but in comparison to me, she most certainly is!).
Off to stamp some images and get out pencils, markers, and whatever else I have to colour!
Jan Johnson says
I am excited about being part of this contest. Now all I need to know is how to download the pictures of my cards. My son is an expert on that, so he can show me how.
Am I correct that I can enter several pictures of different projects for the contest?
I am really excited!
Becky Green says
LOL Your video just made me giggle, Kathy! 😉 YES!!! I’m IN! I’m SO READY for another challenge!!! I’ve been running around here trying to finish off some things & haven’t been able to give my full attention to coloring like I’ve wanted! (Knitting some baby things here for our son’s friends & trying to organize things! Not to mention getting a year older! LOL)
Mirella Rogan says
It sounds fantastic! My colouring skills are nowhere where I would like them to be, but hey, I will still do my best to enter – at the end of the day, it’s the fun at making that matters, and the fact that I will end up with a few cards… it can only be a win-win! 🙂 Thank you for being such an amazing enabler, Kathy!
Sheri Kempke says
How wonderful! I do plan to enter, now I just need to get working on something . My poor hubby had surgery last week and needs quite a bit of love and “care” until he’s back on his feet. I’ll have to try to work it in.
Sue in Grapevine says
This sounds great! I’m glad about the different levels.
Heather Innusa says
YAY!! I’m looking forward to challenging myself! Thanks for the push and (always) inspiration Kathy!
Patricia M says
It sounds great! I’m on vacation so I’ll have a bit more time to practise coloring.
Andrea Hastilow says
Yeeeeeesssss, oh Kathy you defiantly know how to make a girl’s heart best taster don’t you !!!! More colouring, can we declare crafting love for another human ? Looking forward to all the inspiration I get from these.x
Andrea Hastilow says
Supposed to say faster not taster, see beating so quick my fingers can’t keep up lol.
Teresa Medeiros says
This sounds like a wonderful challenge! Now all I need to do is find the time to play along!
Deneen says
Sounds like so much fun!!!! Thanks again for all you do to keep us coloring.
Rhonda says
Wow, this will be really fun. I plan on entering. This will be interesting as there is soooo muchh talent out there
Henriëtte says
Oké, a little scarrie but I will join in! I like the idea and wil participate in the beginners group because I am going to watercolor wiht my Zig”s . I never done that, I can’t watercolor with watercolor paint, but yesterday I saw a guest designer on the blog by Jennifer McGuire playing with her Zigs and water and it looked so great and simple to do. I knew immediately that I wanted to do that too. Kathy you always encourage us to step out our comfort zone and therefore I wil try this for the contest. If all goes wrong I always can trow it in the bin and start over again. Althoug 30 days is never as long as I think LOL
So lets start the contest!
Britta says
This contest is really inspiring me to return to my crafting desk now! Honestly, after the 30 day colouring challenge I was a bit exhausted, and as it got really hot here in Germany at about the same time (up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit) and my crafting space is in the attic, it wasn’t very tempting to sit down up there and craft.
But I might as well pick up my colouring stuff and go further downstairs, can’t I? Just not quite sure about the levels, yet… Maybe someone can give me a hint?
Connie Myers says
What a great idea to keep us motivated to color in between the Coloring Challenges! Thanks for another wonderful idea, Kathy. Now I am going to “Be Fearless!” and enter.
Hugs!
FD91354 says
What a fun challenge! I dont know what to consider my skill level. I color with classes, so I have some experience, but I’m a bit more novice on my own. And, I usually pencil color not marker. So, if I go with markers then novice for sure. Maybe pencils will be intermediate? Aahhhh.. Either way, fabulous inspiration Kathy, thanks!
Tracy Hawkins says
I’m really looking forward to enterering Kathy ! Woo hoo! Another great idea Kathy thanks for inspiring us all again ! Looking forward to seeing all the wonderful colouring also from everyone and thanks for the chance to win the giveaways.xx
Lynne Jardine says
Oooh yes, sounds great to me! I’ll definitely be linking up 🙂
Marlyn Rojas says
Yeahhh! I’ll be participating for sure! Beginner level! XD
Helen Smith says
Sounds like fun, I haven’t done very many challenges so this will be a nice one to try out. Thank you for hosting it!
Maureen Reiss says
Sounds Awesome and FUN!!!!
Gael says
Got a new puppy and starting to get into a routine. Here’s hoping I can find some time to color. Great idea!
Crystal says
Sounds like fun…an opportunity to participate in life, not just a coloring contest! It’s always good to try new things without worrying about winning or losing; I’m definitely in.
Lynn Lemon says
Yes, havent colored much since the 30daychallenge so will be good to get back at it! Thanks for all the inspiration Kathy!
Laraine Randall says
Sounds awesome! Love seeing what you have colored, I get so much inspiration from you and everyone else!!
Kristina CraftyPaws says
This is perfect timing!
I was just feeling a little down in the dumps lately with my coloring/papercrafting. I’ve been trying acrylic pouring, calligraphy, and other things just to keep something going. I’m in! Thanks so much for the extra motivation.
Michelle Antonacci says
Yipppppeeeee! Beginner here, will be participating! I.CANT.WAIT!
Thank you so much for starting this, great way to keep all of us focused on coloring and creating.
Amy Brown says
Sounds like a blast! I’ll certainly be joining in all the coloring fun!
I think that blog challenges are always fun, even if they don’t offer a prize. They allow us to get creative and that is most important to me 🙂
Lindsey M-P says
I could probably spend all of August trying to decide if I’m a beginner (Copics FOR SURE) or maybe intermediate (I feel okay about my watercolouring usually…). 😛 But a big thank you for organizing another way to keep everyone colouring!
Barb Schmidt says
How do you come up with these great ideas? Can’t wait to post something and as luck would have it, I just finished a project yesterday . Hope that’s new enough. Lol
Heather Mills says
Such a fun idea! Nothing like a little, healthy competition. : ) Though, personally, I do like the random draws as it gives an opportunity for anyone to win no matter their skill level or the amount of supplies they have. Plus, everyone’s tastes are so different but each type of project is beautiful in it’s own right. Thanks for all the inspiration!
Aileen Ryan says
Kathy you are brilliant to keep us colouring. Cant wait to get my colouring going. Thank you so much for the motivation.
Jackie G Designs says
How incredibly exciting!!!!!!! I can’t wait to play along!! What a fun idea and a great way to challenge us to better our coloring skills!!!
Julissa Padilla says
I love how inspiring you are. I met you once and had a mini heart attack when you just used random markers… and here I was trying to do a mathematical equation to figure out what colors to use. You’ve blown me away! My friend shared this contest with me and I shared it with my card club. I hope they all enjoy coloring as much as you’ve inspired so many to… including me. 🙂 Thanks!
Janelle says
Awesome idea Kathy!! Excited for this challenge to make my best art- sometimes I’m hurrying and trying to finish something but this will help me go slow and take my time to get better results! 🙂
Rufus says
Well, it will be great for my motivation and trying to do my best work….even if I don’t get up the gumption to actually enter it! Since I’m always in awe of not only your work but the work of lots of those who do the 30 Day Coloring Challenges! I know it will be lots of work for you and your team, but all of you seem to be Energizer Bunnies! I don’t know how you do all that you do, but am sure glad of it! Thanks for the continued inspiration.
Cynthia Dennis says
Such a great & fun idea! Thank you
SusanME says
This is wonderful! I’m off to color now!
Antonious Maximus says
Sure want to give it a shot . Deep thoughts . Should be able to do something by the deadline . Don’t want to miss the party and your feedback
MandaLJ says
This is just the motivation I needed to get some colouring done for the cards I’m making for my church fete! Thanks!
Jill A Figley says
This sounds like so much fun! I will be sure to enter! Thanks Kathy!
Leanne S says
I better start Kit & Clowder free tutorials before I post my terrible coloring. 😀
Debbiekay says
After a crazy summer with tween age twin grandsons, not much time for me, but they will be back in school soon. Thank you
Stacey Kowbel says
Sounds like fun! I will definitely try to enter – just have to actually sit down and do some paper crafting 🙂
Lavonne Sylvester says
Sounds like a lot of fun. I think I would like to try this but like many others, I have no idea what skill level my work would be considered. It’s a lot of fun to color but am not really very good at it. So I am thinking beginner is for me. Even though I have been making cards for quite some time. Ahhh!!!! Thanks Kathy for doing this. 🙂
Gwendolyn Goh says
What a wonderful idea! I’m always so sad when your Daily Marker challenges end so I hope this will be a regular contest! Thanks so much.
Terrie D. says
Yay! I’m excited to give this a try 🙂
Bunny Dobbie says
Constantly colouring! It keeps me almost sane! Thanks for the great idea. Big Hugs Kathy!
Judy Sander says
I would love to participate and will as time allows. I am so slow to create my cards, but maybe just coloring something I can handle with all the construction stuff going on in my home currently. LOL Thanks for organizing the fun coloring things you inspire on a regular basis. I think it’s such a fun thing to involve oneself in, as well as a stress reliever.
Carol Sue Abell Jones says
Oh Kathy, I appreciate you always encouraging us to color! I’m intimidated to enter my coloring but I’m going to try, especially since you have a category for us beginners. Thanks!
Bobby says
This is such a good idea. The 30 day challenge usually catches me at a bad time or my coloring is for a scheduled DT post. This will inspire me to color for the fun of it.
Fikreta says
its so great idea!
Carmen says
I think This Is a wonderful idea!!

Oh, I love this idea so much!! Just curious though about what we will be judged on. I consider myself an intermediate card maker but a beginner when it comes to actually colouring. So do I put myself in the beginner or intermediate category. Either way I’m looking forward to some motivation to get colouring. Thanks Kathy!!

Just the motivation I need to keep colouring regularly. Especially during the summer holidays when school is out till September here in the U.K. Thanks for doing this. I look forward to the 30 day challenge every time and it helps improve my colouring.

Sounds like a fantastic idea!! I started entering contest because of Hero Arts too!! My first one was when we still have to mail our cards. 🙂 I’d love to play along.

I will try to muster my courage to enter. lol

Love this idea!!! That said, after reading through some of the comments, I think your beginner section will be HUGE and not because they are all true beginners but because they lack the confidence in their skill level. This first challenge will be a challenge for you and the judges for sure. It would be easier if the monthly challenge was a specific type of coloring… for instance my pencil coloring is advanced, my Copic coloring intermediate, and my watercoloring is beginner level, but to average them I’d definitely intermediate (especially when you see how many attempts I throw away and start over). I think folks could use examples or guidelines to help them determine which category to enter. Looking forward to this though!!!

This sounds fun! I’ve barely touched my markers all summer. When I was a kid I always did those coloring contests in the paper, and one year I won 2 of the Easter ones. I’m sure it was random, but it was so nice to win! I color a lot but I should probably enter beginner since I haven’t done an adult one ever, and I have some new stamps to try coloring.
