Hello Friends! How are you all? Happy Belated World Card Making Day! I hope you were able to carve out some “you” time and make a card to celebrate World Card Making Day. I am popping in today because I have a giveaway. Woo Hoo!
Before I do that I thought I would update you for a quick second on where I have been. In the past 30 days we have had three destination weddings (Charleston, Park City & Santa Rosa) and between the three weddings I had three days of The Coloring Challenge Road Trips (Arizona and Florida) . In between that I was filming a video for this Class with Scrapbook & Cards Today that I am super excited about. During my Road Trip travels most everyone is interested in the way I like to approach coloring with pencils and the way I use ONLY lines to add my color.
Would you like to win a free spot in the Scrapbook & Cards Today second annual WCD Online Card Class? Here’s your chance! SCT has amped up the creativity for this year’s 4-week self-paced class, bringing you special video techniques, step-by-step instructions, PageMaps card sketches, and loads of tips, tricks and trending styles. You will love the artwork created by many of your favorite cardmakers, including me! This four-week class begins Monday, October 15th. For your chance to win, just leave a comment on this post and share what your favorite card is to make (or some other question!). I’ll draw a random winner on Friday, October 12th. Good luck!
Here are some of the sneak peeks for the class and you can click here to register. If you register and win you will be refunded the cost of the class.
My card is the top left of the sneak.
Soo many beautiful sneaks I can’t wait!
Are you as excited as I am? I hope so. Keep on reading for a few photos of my travels.
I shared my nephew and his beautiful bride before. Their destination wedding was in Charleston, SC just before the hurricane.
After this wedding I had 10 days before my visit to My Favorite Things Boutique .Saturday sold out so quick so we added a Sunday and it was such an awesome experience finally being in the MFT store. I have been wanting to visit it for years! The store is a show stopper and inspiring and I will be back for sure! If you are near or far it’s so worth the trip.
.
This was Saturday and yes there is a pig!! I feel in love with that lil pet pig!
I always leave these events feeling so pumped and happy sharing my love of coloring with so many of you.
The sweet souls of MFT were tipped off that I had a Birthday coming up so they had this cake made for me. I doubt that I will ever get a cake this big again OMG right! I was so touched and felt so blessed to have all these creative people sing Happy Birthday to me!
After Florida I had 4 days to pull myself together, prep for my next road trip and finish my work on my portion of the class for SCT. Our next destination wedding stop was Santa Rosa CA for a vineyard wedding. Hurricane Rosa kinda ruined the outdoor wedding but, it still was spectacular and so full of love to watch Arin and Wes take their vows. I think the bride looks pretty happy despite the day of rain where it never rains lol.
Right after that wedding we headed to Arizona for a stay with our 93 year old Aunt and to stop in the new paint and sip store that Kim from Paper Smooches opened up called, Our Creative Escape and it’s another must stop must do!! I truly am blessed to be able to travel to meet so many of you. If you look close you will see a few friends that have been popping up at several of my road trips! I will be coming back here too. This venue is only 30 minutes away from the Phoenix! Kim didn’t miss one thing when she set this store up. I want to go back and paint one of their canvases! Sooo inspiring!!
Time to pack and head to the last of our destination weddings in Park City Utah! This venue was on a mountain in a barn and it was beautiful as well. My phone died but, I was able to capture this just before it died. Hurricane Rosa almost brought this wedding indoors but, the weather held out and the snow stayed away until we were headed to the airport yesterday! This beautiful bride babysat for my kids when they were little and it was such a trill to see her marry the love of her life.
So that’s it in a snapshot of this past month and thanks for letting me share with you.
Thanks for your visit today and see you soon! Hugs, Kathy

I make and mail out cards each month to family and friends and fellow shut ins. My first instinct was to say Christmas followed by Halloween cards, but in truth I think it is the friendship cards I make each month. I get to try so many things and that’s just one of the things I love about card making. Looks like you had a good month. thanks as always for sharing.

Kathy it was such a pleasure to meet you in Florida… what a fun time! and I LOVED seeing the MFT store … though I’m not sure my cc was happy about it!
I started making cards to write sentiments … sympathy cards, while sad to need, are the ones that are appreciated the most. Finding the perfect words to alleviate someone’s grief may not be easy, but vital to the healing process.
I must try this again, since I had such luck with it in Eustice! I’m thinking of a name…

I know this is going to sound strange but my fave cards to make are Sympathy cards. NOT because of the occasion itself but I love using all of my beautiful floral stamps in a more serious and elegant style. As much as I love to colour critters and the like, to make scenes, etc. I enjoy the challenge of making something elegant and not always something too “technique-y”.
Ruth G says
