Hello Friends, Happy July 6th. How was your 4th? If you are/were traveling this week I hope you had a chance to pack a few supplies for your trip. Traveling is always a time when I am more relaxed and enjoy having a little crafty time away from home.
For Day 21. I am using two of Simon Says Stamp background stamps that are pretty dang awesome. When I first saw Round and Round background stamp I envisioned adding watercolor to it. The Wildflowers silhouette stamp is drop dead gorgeous and I don’t feel like I did it justice but, that’s ok I am not Jennifer McGuire lol.
The image isn’t as crisp because I moved the paper slightly for added depth. What do you think of the dots behind the silhouette? I like the brightness against the dark.
This halfway through my watercoloring and it was fun to color on top of the circles.
DAY 22. I am almost finished with this beautiful illustration! I picked up this pack of cards … coloring cards illustrated by the sweet Hannah. I colored up her floral here last week.
Coloring on this kraft cardstock was sooo fun. With this illustration it was very important for the pencils to be super duper sharp.
Do you find it helpful to see a comparison like this? The white in the last photo really makes the cactus pop.
See you tomorrow and have a lovely weekend. Hugs, Kathy

Day 21
I hope that you had a great 4th of July, looking at your Instagram Stories I thought you had.
These background stamps are awesome. In my opinion you did the Wildflowers silhouette stamp great justice, it looks stunning against that fabulous background. I love this idea to use these bright coloured circles behind the Wildflowers stamp.
Day 22
I popped over earlier to Hannah’s shop and the panels are gorgeous, what a great flowers to colour. Unfortunately from what I can see, is that she only ships within the US. I can always give her a message.
Gorgeous colouring Kathy, what a differents one colour pencils often makes.
Thank you for sharing your great work, see you tomorrow and have a beautiful weekend. Happy colouring.

Hope you are ok & your family. I’m still out of hospital on test which is fabulous as I’m sick of looking at hospital walls. Got lots of images ready printed out to colour with my pencil crayons, trying lots of different paper types watercolour, Neenah, Stonehenge & different makes of coloured card. Enjoying the differences. Enjoy your weekend x
Kathy Racoosin says
Andrea, I continue to keep you in my thoughts and send you tons of get well wishes! I hope you stay out of the hospital, and it makes my heart happy that you are trying out various color mediums on various papers. I hope you save these “samples” so that you know what look you want to achieve when you choose an image to color in the future…though I have never been able to exactly replicate anything. Art seems to always be unique 🙂

The colors used for the circles gives the card a sunset feel, the silhouette wildflowers are gorgeous against the backdrop. It is helpful when you show the progression of your projects. Thanks for sharing.
Gail Plaskiewicz says
Oh my gosh, Kathy, I love those background stamps, especially the circles! I might have to make a check of Simon Says for that stamp! I love your coloring & please, you & Jen are equal in your card making. Really equal. If you compare mine & both of yours, there is no comparison. You guys are better. You also have die cutters & I don’t. Love both of your cards & all the yellow you used.

LOL Kathy, I love your comment about Jennifer. It’s nice to know that even brilliant inspirational people like yourself inspire to be like Jennifer sometimes 🙂 Personally I think that you did do justice the the wildflowers stamp. Your background is just different from what everyone else has created using that set and I love it!
As for your cacti…. wow! what a difference the white pen makes especially on the kraft paper. Your use of dark colours in the ‘nooks and crannies’ and the white! I can’t express how much your posts have impacted on my colouring. Thank you sooooo much for being such an inspiration to me!

As per usual these days, I am behind in my emails…I love the beautiful colour (Round and Round set) behind the Wildflowers as that is what a silhouette needs,IMHO. Beautiful!
Love the side by side pics of your work as it is so much easier to compare them. A beautiful Cactus and it is very generous of Hannah to offer up a deal! Her work is awesome.
