Day 23. Paradise Birds & GIVEAWAY

Hello Friends! Welcome to Day 23. How is your week? It’s hump day yay!!

Ahhh always such a good feeling to finish something that was hard to pull away from. Did you see my post yesterday that shows a step by step of one of  these awesome “Paradise Birds“? All of these birdies were colored the same way as yesterday. Markers, Copic Various ink , rag & pencils.

This stamp set has a ton of perfect sentients that go with Paradise Bird called, “Tropical Tweets” and it’s nice to have a coordinating die cut. Usually I stamp the sentiment directly on the card but, I love the extra dimension. You might notice behind the die cut is black fun foam (two layers).

Twine as a finishing touch is something I doubt that I will get tired of. Coloring the twine with a marker to match is easy peasy and I love that the twine just gives you that extra pop!

Since the card is so long I felt like I needed another sentiment to balance & anchor the top of my card. Simon Says Stamps sentiment strips saved the day again! Today I am using the “Cheeky Love“.

My shortest pencils are always the darker ones because I use them the most filling in the nooks & crannies (one of my top 10 coloring tips). The reason why I like the Caran D’ Ache Lumiance pencils the best because they are not waxy, they never ever break and they are lightfast! The Caran D’Ache Pablo is a favorite too. I love building layers of color for interest and texture.

    Bee Happy! I did see your post yesterday but plan to take another look over the weekend when I have the time to play and try out your techniques. Your coloring never ceases to amaze. I’m still in the “infant” stage with my copics but your 30 day challenges have really helped me to grow.     BEE HAPPY! Gorgeous colors! Does your hand hurt trying to color with such small pencils? I ask because I can’t get a good grip and my hand hurts. Of course, you are a rock star!

      I hold the pencil pretty lightly and I’m not putting a lot of pressure on it with my fingers. That may be why your hand hurts?

    I will Bee Happy tomorrow! LOL Oh my gosh, this card is just way to cute! I love it! Those animals, birds, are just 2 cute! I love birds! Last month I saw a beautiful cardinal in our yard. I have Christmas address labels with cardinals & Christmas stamps with them on it so I was so surprised to see one in June. In fact, I don’t think I have ever seen one in person before. I have heard that when you see one it is an angel or something like that. I was freaking out!
    I love how you colored those birds. I love that color of green you used on them. Your coloring is so good!

    Thanks a million for the inspiration.
    Before participating at the 30 Day Color Challenge I never attempted to color my stamps but now i do and have won gifts too. I am learning new techniques too and i am really sorry that i missed the 30 Day Colour challenge this time. I want to learn coloring well as i have fallen in love with it. I am waiting till post start to buy a set of inks what do you recommend. Pls let me know as i want to make a wise decision. I am from Sri Lanka and the postage too is very pricey but i want to get a good set of inks. I have a set of Coleen water color pencils.As I am a beginner that should suffice for the moment. But when i think of sharpening them i get nightmares as i get bubbles on my hands whihch are very painful. Blessings
