Hello Friends, How are you today?? I hope this adorable Mimi will cool you off or make you feel cooler. It’s been so HOT here that I think I could fry an egg on the sidewalk. How are you keeping cool during this heat wave??
I love this transparent set too.
Are you interested in how I created this fishbowl? It’s super easy!
First stamp the “Delicate Pattern” background stamp onto your yellow papers with Spiced Marmalade. Stamp the inside and place your sentiment.
This SRM sticker was perfect for the inside.
Stamp this globe from Penny Black with Memento. Draw an arc with a pencil and cut off to create the top of the fish bowl.
Color the globe with Booo & Boo. Color the fish with Y38& YR04.
Add some Tumbled Glass, Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy distress ink to the bowl & base with a dauber.
Lay some paper down to create a mask to create the waves and distress with Tumbled Glass.
Flip your mask over for the second layer placing your mask further down toward the bottom. Use a darker blue distress ink. I used Broken China.
This is the end result.
Color the second image you stamped with E30 & RV10.
Add some color where you will pop the mermaid and add some white dots on the fish.
Color her hair with E08 & Y38. Nothing like a red head mermaid. 🙂
Highlight her scales, hair and the fish with a glitter pen. I love this one because it’s so smooth and shows more than the Copic ones. I wish you could see the glittery accents on the final card but, I can..lol 🙂
Add scrap dots to the back of Mimi and place her on the fish bowl. When dry adhere to your card.
If you haven’t tried “Scrap Dots” you won’t be sorry. Next time you order you might want to give them a try. I need to order some more.
Thank you I am always grateful for your visit. Hugs, Kathy

Amazing! I know your area is always about 10F warmer than this area, and heat wave was hitting this area too. Now it settled to 80F which I LUUUV! 😉

I gain so much from your tutorials – thank you for all the time you take to make them. That masking for the waves is brilliant & I have to admit that my Distress Inks are the one set of inks I could not now manage without – plus a couple of favourite Black inkpads – the rest I will not replace when they are finished; that’s why it’s paricularly good to see someone else using those inks regularly.
Her tail & bikini are gorgeous & the red hair just perfect – great seeing colour theory that I’m learning actually in use.

Soo cute! When I grow up, I want to colour just like you 😉
Do you prefer to cut items out with small scissors or do you use a blade? Your cut-work is always well defined despite the intricate details.
