Hello! Me again. I hope you are finding my studio photos helpful? A month ago my friend wanted to go antiquing for her B.D. Sounded good to me because I wanted to look for some antique buttons.
Well…I didn’t find ONE button but, I saw this in a dark corner. When I laid my eyes on this “Replacement parts” stand I knew it had to be mine.
This is it’s new home and gives my corner a nice shot of color. Before I show you more buttons I want you to notice the pencil cans to the left of the lamp where I store my colored pencils. It’s so easy and so rewarding to create your own storage cans. If you want to see how to make them go here and here .
The acrylic boxes on the left are hold my special antique buttons.
Here is a close up of these yummies. I find it difficult to use them because I enjoy looking at them so much.
One rainy lazy day I should make some molds of these. That may never happen but, it’s fun to think about.
In the top sections are clear glass buttons, milk glass and some plastic buttons. Such great details.
This is the second box containing the metal ones. Love these too 🙂

I love buttons. I have 2 round cookie type tins that were my grandmother’s. I used to dig through them as a kid. I love them and have trouble using them as well. I’ve loved seeing your studio. I can’t wait until I move to the Ozarks where there are “antique/flea markets” galore and see what I can salvage for my craft room. Thanks for sharing!!!!

I must ask, what is that you have your Copic’s in? We made towers out of foam core to house our Copic’s but I like the look of yours better.

Very organized (couldn’t even hope to be that organized), and things all make sense. But what I love best are all the special finds and how you’ve incorporated all those wonderful antiques that just give the room such character. I also love the special treasures that your loved ones have made you and that you’ve done (like the diva doe). Your room really shines with creativity, style and originality. Hi Kathy, I am visiting your blog from Crafty Storage. You do have a beautiful room, and some great ideas for storage and organization. Love the antique piece where you have your buttons. I had to chuckle to myself that you have your newer everyday buttons stored in the “antique” piece, while your true antique buttons are stored in a clear sparkling acrylic storage unit. One question for you…with manufacturers being to reproduce and make brand new things look like old, antique things, how do we know when we are buying buttons that are really antiques? TIA

I just took a tour of your stamping center, and cannot believe how artisitc it is. (I especially love how you have seen the functionality of vintage antiques–after all, so often in their past they were functional!) But the way you have everything arranged, I feel that I am in a painting, with attention to color, composition, and with true inspiration. (I get the same feeling sometimes when I am in the grocery store and see amazing food displays.) Because I have seen many of your cards, and even have almost two dozen in my own personal collection, I can attest that not only does your stamping center look beautiful, organized, and useable, but you can take these supplies and turn them into art! (Some folks have all of the supplies and none of the fine production.) In additon you give so much attention to your family–wonderful meals, thoughtful acts of kindness. Well, I am a fan. Rachel
